Great Canadian Mass Shipment Bones Race

Recommended Posts

Current Status: Shipments to Canada have gone out, UPS has delivered the majority of them. Some orders (to PO Boxes) have gone out via Canada Post.

In an attempt to take this topic in a new direction, I will do my best to provide Canada relevant information to all Canadian KS supporters.

June 10th - Reaper Bryan updates the following:

Canadian Shipments have been approved - we were cleared to go, and now have to put everything on pallets to be unwrapped in Ontario and disseminated.

"Kaladrax, Wings" is a reference to the parts inside being Kaladrax AND his wings - because the body molds were listed as Kaladrax Mold 1, Kaladrax Mold 2, Kaladrax Mold 3, Kaladrax Mold 4, Kaladrax Mold 5, and Wings. Not Kaladrax Mold 6, Not Kaladrax Wings. The mold is called "Wings" on the spreadsheet. So the box is labeled with both "mold names". No, I don't understand why a part with 6 molds has 2 names, instead of either 6 names or one name, but hey, I just work here.

A Vamp box weighs in at 1.5Kg, A Kaladrax, with his wings, is 1.25 Kg. We do not yet have an average, but expect to be shipping a lot of 4-6Kg boxes.

Some were also asking about C'thulhu - C'thulhu was on the same shipment as Kaladrax, likewise Nethyrmaul. The big 3 are all in. Wyrmgear, however, is on the last (the ULTIMATE!) Truck.

I think that's everything.

Gotta run, Be excellent to each other!

May 6th - Reaper KS Update #91 was sent out and stated the following:

During the run of our Kickstarter campaign, we promised that we'd get you your stuff without you being nailed with a bunch of customs fees. To that end, we've had to apply for non-resident importer status to Canada. This way, we absorb the cost of the customs fees, and you get local delivery of your pledge packages. Unfortunately, we're caught in a bureaucratic morass of red tape. We were led to believe that we would be finished with this part of the process in December 2012, but we've been there for months now. Happily, we've received word from our customs broker that we're very close to having our application finalized, and as soon as we have the all clear, you'll start receiving your things. We're terribly sorry for the delay, but this was the only way to do it without sa ddling you with the import fees.

tl;dr: We're stuck in red tape, but the end is near, and we start duty-free shipments to Canada soon.

April 3rd - (found here) states the following:

On a positive note - I'm really hoping to have all of the International (non-canadian) Tier 1 & 2 rewards shipped by end of day Friday. We expect to have ALL Tier 1-3 rewards shipped by ReaperCon (to ALL backers - US, Canada*, and international non-Canada)

*Canadian rewards - we are waiting on the approval of our brokerage permit, which (I believe) is a government thing, and we had expected it by now, but apparently the canadian gov't is not as efficient as they would have us believe. We have a pallete ready to go, and once it is approved will have that on the way, e-mails will be sent once it is approved (we're deliberately holding the e-mails to keep people from expecting a box that is currently held up in red tape).

I hope that helps, I know it's not as positive as it could be, but we're making progress!

This topic will (hopefully?) be updated with more Canadian shipping information as it progresses.

Original Post below:

An idea I got from Suden, call it a competition, a race. First Canadian (that actually lives in Canada) to get their bones shipment wins. What do you win? all of our jealousy!

Are you a Reaper Bones Kickstarter Backer that lives in Canada? This topic is now your home! What did you order? Where do you live? Post it here!

Sooo jaryth000... If that's your real name.

Of course jaryth000 isnt my real name. Its Jaryth Frenette! :D

Fine fine, you have a point, I'll start (Ok, Shadow Raven technically started but still).

I'm in Winnipeg (Manitoba), ordered a Vampire set plus several options and the paint sets. I have not received my bones yet, but I will be sure to post when I do!)

In reality, I just kinda wana get to know who all are the Canadian users on the board, I've seen a couple of them, so I thought I'd reach out to the community and see who all is here! Canadians are awesome, and the people on this board seem very cool, meaning Canadians on this board must be amazing!

Edit:

For the hell of it, I decided to paste the contents of my Pledge email, for records sake:

-- Figure Case x1 $25
-- Starter Paint Set x1 $18

I'm living in Peterborough, ON, and here is the stuff some crafty person will soon be able to snatch off my porch:

-- Vampire x1 $100
-- Fire Giants x1 $10
-- Frost Giants x1 $10
-- Starter Paint Set x1 $18
-- Figure Case x1 $25
-- Spider Centaurs x1 $10
-- C'thulhu x1 $10
-- Deep Dwellers x1 $7
-- Starter Set 2 x1 $18
-- Kaladrax Reborn x1 $10
-- Nethyrmaul x1 $25
-- Forces Of Nature x1 $15
-- Fire Giant Warriors x1 $10
-- Red Dragon x1 $10
-- Clockwork Dragon x1 $15
-- Demons x1 $15
-- IMEF Paint Set x1 $18
-- Undead Paint Set x1 $18
-- Frost Wyrm x1 $10
-- There Be Dragons x1 $15
-- Deathsleet x1 $10
-- Ebonwrath x1 $10

I swapped Sophie for the carrying case. The list of things I didn't get is considerably smaller: Mind your "Manor"s, Undead Giant, Mythos Monsters, Jabberwock, and the Hydra.

I hadn't looked at this list since shortly after finishing up the pledge manager, it seems I had forgotten some things. I thought I only bought 3 paint sets, but it seems I got all four. Originally, I had planned on skipping most of the dragons due to financial concerns, it was only after Reaper offered up the pay-pal add-on that I relented and grabbed them all. I had originally planned on getting Mythos Monsters, but when C'thulhu arrived, I didn't need C'thulhu light anymore.

The only one I really regret skipping is the Hydra, I'll be picking him up the moment he is available in the store. I probably could use the Mind your "Manor"s as well, but that's a much lower priority. The undead giant looks cool, but it is too large to see use in a game as it seems too tall for a giant. Definitely out of scale with the other giants in this project. Jabberwock is in the same boat, looks interesting but I can't imagine using it.

Just noticed that RAFM is in Brantford - that's only 50 km away! I like those odds! Though I might not be in the first shipment, with vampire + 2 paint sets + 2 cases + half a dozen add-ons.

On a farm, kinda near Edmonton AB. All I got was the standard Vampire + the carying case (I kept Sophie, now I almost wonder if I shouldn't have traded her in for some of the extras, but I still want Sophie so no...but I want dragons....and I couldn't afford both.....Damnit)

Oh, Buglips, word fo advice. put the chihuahua as the lead dog, that way both it and the husky get to enjoy the view, they will be much happier that way, I' almost certain of it

I'm in Vancouver and ordered

-- Vampire x1 $150
-- Figure Case x1 $25
-- Kaladrax Reborn x1 $12
-- C'thulhu x1 $12

I really wish I had ordered a Nethyrmaul but, for whatever reason, there was no option to select it in the RPM when I confirmed my pledge, so I got the figure case instead. I'm glad that i'll probably get my stuff after my exams. I'm not sure I would be able to study effectively with a large mass of fresh minis to get to.

I'm in St. Catharines, Ontario.

I think I'll be losing this race as I ordered 2 vampire and at least 1 of everything else.

Well, I'm no regular, but I'll try to remember this thread when my order comes in.

Moncton, NB

Vampire Level

+ There be Dragons

+ Demons

+ Undead Giant

+ Pathfinder Red Dragon

So, if RAFM is taking care of canadian orders, do they have to wait for Reaper to ship from Texas? or are they getting their models from China?

Hi all,

Don't post much on this forum.

Patiently awaiting my order in balmy Winnipeg, Manitoba.

As to what I ordered, I honestly can't remember. All I know is that its the vampire level with almost 1 of every add on.

Just a quick ? to all the other Canadians. Has anyone heard of which shipper Reaper is using?

I am fine with USPS or RAFM. Hopefully NOT UPS. The shipping and brokerage fees are almost as much as the order.

So I started painting this guy... I don't even remember how long ago. Pulled him out tonight and decided to wash him with a couple other bones I was prepping... He felt a little tacky... And now feels worse. And the tooth brush feels all gummy.

He's from Bones 1, and probably painted with older GW paints, not not 100% sure.

Fairly sure I'm just going to drop him in some simple green and start over... Though I'm wondering if there has been some weird chemical change and if I'd just be better off getting a new copy of him?

Anyone else run into something like this? I know some paint dries tacky on bones, but can that be cleaned off and repainted?

         Yes, I know Captain Stern...

      Kev!
P.s. He should be torn into itsy bitsy pieces and buried alive!

This one was on my shelf of shame for quite a while, until my daughter told me off for having it lying around.  So I sculpted a shirt for her out of greenstuff which was a fun learning process.  I needed her for my D&D game last week, so she got the speed paint finish.  Her skin is the dusky flesh triad with some light grey added.

      Meet the Daughters

A Hidden Realm lays far beneath tortured Perdition, a honeycomb of twisting tunnels and deep caverns. For centuries, outcast Dark Elves toiled here without the touch of the sun.
A spellcasting Morrigan leads your warriors. Then choose from stealthy Nightcloaks, deadly Vindicators, dual-bladed Deathcriers, meek Waywardens, and horrifying Soulweavers. Each Dark Elf starts with an unknown skill—until you create your war clan. And if you’re fortunate, some of your warriors may be Dark Fae like the feasting Black Annis, the nightmarish Bodach, slimy Gobelyn, enchanting Merrow, or one of many other possibilities.
Daughters of Twilight expansion sets feature 8 Reaper® Bones miniatures. Each comes with a round base for you to assemble and paint in your own distinctive style. Many of the exclusive figures we’ve selected aren’t available anywhere yet—you’ll be among the first to own them. The awesome figures inset here are from a rendering and will replace a few of the figures depicted.
Get Your Complete Guide to the Dark Elves
Learn their shrouded history and the secrets of female-dominated enclaves. Recruit exotic Dark Fae like the carrion-eating Boggart, mimicking Fetch, or sinister Sluagh. Duel with sabers to dispatch dangerous foes, wield long-lost eldritch magick, and master the forgotten art of shaping living weapons and armor. Pierce armor with the Deadly Bodkin. Fire lethal hand crossbows. Lend your Dark Elves prestige with Signature Armor designed just for them. And train the Cait Sidhe and giant orb-weaver to fight alongside your warriors.
Guides also come with extras. Get the die-cut templates you’ll need as your Dark Elves adapt to harsh sunlight and cast unique magick. A “Dark Web” PDF roster is easy to customize. It tracks your warriors’ levels, skills, armor, weapons, poisons, loot, treasures, and Adamant—the glowing but unbreakable substance only your Artificer knows how to craft.
      Roll with “Deep Purple” Dice
Sets come with three attack dice featuring The WitchBorn’s hit location system. A critical skewers a victim while an oops means your warrior fails miserably—sometimes with comical results. Add two D6 for rolling feats and injury outcomes and your Dark Elves will be styling.
      We Got Brom!
Acclaimed fantasy illustrator, Brom, painted the gorgeous wraparound cover Web of Charms.Pledge early to snare an autographed copy before they’re gone!
