He is a cranky little fellow!

Nice job as usual!

I love how every shroom has it's own personality.

Thanks, Glitter. I try to match the  individual personalities to their eyes; i.e., the way the eyes are set gives a hint to the facial expression.

It could also be an inability to repeat what I had done a moment or two ago...imminent senility rears its ugly head or whatever.

The one on the far left with the silly smile & a Peter Sellers look to him may be based with an evil looking one for a  L.A.F. Guy.

The new versions of the Devil's Cup Mushrooms are underway. They are a bit thicker in the stem than the original.

I am trying out a new color combo for the Fungus Fellows. The stems are white from a blue gray base with the faces having a red violet hue fading to white.

These are still W.I.P.. The eyes, fangs, cups, & details are yet to be finished, but you can get an idea where I going...with the Mushrooms that is.

There you go!

I like the darker hue.

And their new stem size fits them well.

The "darker hue" of the caps will be a little lighter, but not all that much on the finished Mushrooms...they are still W.I.P..

Thanks for the reply, Glitter!

Some days are stare-into-space-days & other days everything just flows right along. Today was a flow day.

I got some work done on the Trollop Mage & Magrat the Trash Heap, but not enough for a photo.

The Pumpkinhead from Glitter is ready to be based:

The first of the Devil's Cup Mushrooms is done:

...with the other two a cap away from completion:

The Twisted Tower Photo Stage got substantial shove forward:

The Tower got windows, a dead tree:

AND a fancy front door:

Off on stage left some trees sprouted:

Not bad for an Old Man.

Apparently an Old man with a lot of energy!    You  accomplished more than I did today!

I am really liking that fancy steam punk door.. especially the twisted hinges with their massive (based on scale) bolts.

Might I suggest some eyes in the wood tree portion just over the door (watching for those pesky flyer delivery people of course)

I don't have these bursts of energy all that often anymore; HOWEVER, when I do I try to make the most of it...I did some more clay work on the small towers.

Thanks for the reply, robinh. I am glad you like the door...I just got a new batch of gears from Hobby Lobby.

The eye over the door is a good idea/suggestion. It is one I just may try.

I'm glad to see Pumpinkhead has found his way into your world.

Cool paintjob!

I love that door with all the gears, the board is becoming a wonderful imaginative piece.

New Shrooms are awesome!

I approve of Robinh's idea concerning the eye.

You've made some excellent progress in the first 2 weeks of the new year, congratulations on that!

The mushroom witch came out great, and the base you put her on is absolutely perfect! You're making some very good progress on the new photo stage, and it's always a lot of fun to wander through your thread and see what new things you've been up to.

Thanks for the reply & the Pumpkinhead, Glitter. The Little Guy was a joy to paint. I have a Scarecrow Girl from Bombshell Babes that might like him as a familiar.

I got a nice new batch of gears from Hobby Lobby. SO there will be lots of steampunky stuff popping up. The Tinker's Guild House in the Blight will bee buzzing with activity.

I am glad you like the new Mushrooms. The handbooks, & the inspirational photos Liz & you have sent me are paying off. The Faerie Folk are on the rise.

I liked robinh's (Hello Hood here!) idea also. The eye is now over the door, looking down in a worried sort of way. The green stuff is drying.

Thanks for the vote of approval, Wolf. I find am now dreaming of what I will do next when I awake. There are less nightmares of the doom ridden future. Only a hot date or two with the Rockettes  interrupts the craft reverie.

I am glad you enjoyed the various stuff. I have added some details to Magrat, extensions to the stage left trees, & now adding some hanging moss on the cliffs. The more I do the more ideas crop up. There is a certain urgency about finishing things while I still have the time.

YET ANOTHER relatively productive day: The Photo Stage got some hanging moss, a bit of sand,  an eye over the door, & the trees got a little taller:

Magrat "Mags" The All Seeing, All Knowing Trash Heap got some details added:

DSCN5866.thumb.JPG.449e3fff3b31c019df5b4ecf9e58e1dd.JPGDSCN5867.thumb.JPG.6794526e2a37e0d4d263c9fb0c33ebde.JPGDSCN5868.thumb.JPG.939dd31de704ed9dc4be747dd85072f7.JPGDSCN5870.thumb.JPG.ead0a22d0b89a41d7b41d05a300bf9bc.JPG

AND the day isn't over yet...only almost over.

Later the same day:
DSCN5879.thumb.JPG.ec8c4119bcc56ee28ab96d93140f781d.JPG

Is that a door in that old dead tree?

DSCN5880.thumb.JPG.c3e8fde5554f7fe825c7cda32fbfe825.JPG

Now who would put a door in an old dead tree?

DSCN5881.thumb.JPG.ae584702506fbf9d5c4e4560cce4e8f5.JPG

...BOO OOH OOH!

Next The Beasty gets a spray coat of workable fixative. Then the prime & paint along with detailing, window treatments, et cetera.

Awesome!

Like a painting coming to life!

Thanks, Glitter...glad you like it. The stages do have some of the aspects of a flat painting or a bas-relief.
