Painting Contest - Be a Spaceship Superstar! (ends Sept 7th, 2014)

Recommended Posts

Just a quick update on shipping. 4 left to go.

Also, Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US.

Are you PM'ing people to let them know when you've shipped? Just curious since I like to keep an eye out for anything shipped to me after the USPS lost a pckg on me last month.

Yes I am (so yes, you are in the last four. )  ::):

Just finished boxing and labeling the last 4 boxes.  They should be in the mail soon, hopefully by the end of the week.

Having finished the sorting and packing, I can honestly say that I think I could happily work for a minis company packing up figs and mailing them out.   ::):

Thanks Jasper!  Really looking forward to seeing this in person after spending more time than I should have looking up images online to try and decide on my choices.

Congratulations on all that hard work Jasper!

Hopefully it put the dent in your collection that you wanted it to.

Well, everything shipped last week.  All that's left to do is pack up what is left.

A much smaller pile!

Not sure if I can fit it in one box or not....

BTW, anyone who does a WIP or Showoff for of your pics, feel free to post a link here or send me a message.  I don't get much time on the forums most days and I'd hate to miss anything.

Got my box in today too, has my stuff and Willen's stuff. Didn't unpack his picks, but I took all mine out of the blisters and put in baggies to save space.

Thanks Jasper!

      40-99mm wide/tall (Reaper only)
      100mm+ wide/tall (Reaper only)
      Diorama (Reaper Only)
Non Reaper models and Busts over 40mm wide/tall   Reaper contest:   -- entries must be Reaper figures. Any 40mm or larger figure, metal or Bones, in production or OOP can be entered -- any figure which was painted and finished in 2018 is eligible -- figures that have won a statue level award as a ReaperCon entry are ineligible.  This includes a Sophie, Golden Maelee, etc. -- the deadline for entries is Dec 31, 2018 at 11:59 pm CST -- a diorama is defined as two or more figures on a scenic base that helps to tell a story. The diorama may have smaller figures, as long as there is one large sized Reaper figure in the entry -- you may enter as many times as you like, but only one prize per person will be awarded -- each entry needs to be uploaded to the appropriate thread. Please attach your entries using the forum uploading feature or hotlink from the Inspiration Gallery. We want to make sure they're visible at all times. -- you may submit between one and four images of each Single Figure entry and up to six images for Diorama. They do not need to be stitched into a single image file. -- you are allowed to enter miniatures that will also be entered into other contests that might overlap ours. -- the judges or Reaper reserves the right to remove entries if deemed inappropriate, but we're pretty laid back here and this is just to cover our butts. -- the judges and Reaper can clarify and amend rules at will.   Prizes:   Reaper has approved prizes in each category:   1st prize $50 2nd prize $30 random drawing prize $20     If there are fewer than 8 entries in any category, only 1st prize and the random prize will be awarded.    Image Enhancement:   -- digital enhancement ("Photoshopping") of your entry is strictly prohibited. -- no clone brush, healing brush, airbrush, or other brush work. Fix your paint with paint, not with Photoshop. -- no adding or removing background elements from the image -- if you add a logo or a watermark Reaper cannot use your image in their gallery. Note that if your image is selected for the Reaper gallery, you will be credited by name under the image. -- cropping, global color balance, and global level adjustments are allowed ("global" means "the entire image." You may not "pop" colors by only selecting some areas for level adjustment.   Non-Reaper contest:   -- entries which fit the above requirements (40mm+) or busts that were not made by Reaper can be entered here.  -- there is no Reaper prize support for this category -- 3rd party prize support will be determined by donations near the end of the contest.

While waiting for washes to dry on an exchange fig this morning, I decided I'd try getting a decent paint job onto a fig I pulled out of the latest BoGW that @robinh let me browse through last week.
I pulled this fig because I thought it would work well as an evil mage type in the Savage Rifts setting.  But I didn't think I'd use it for the current game, as the last encounter is tonight, before we switch over to 5th Ed for a while.
But what the heck, I'm going to see what I can do with him anyway.

Here's about 40 minutes of base coating. Robes/gloves will be dark red, tassley cloak thing will be purpley greys.  Lots of metals.

Anyone able to identify him?  GW?  Warzone maybe? (Identified below.....)

Back in December, when I finally had some time and motivation to get back to painting, I decided I'd really quickly do up some IMEF marines.  Just table top, didn't even clean up mold lines or anything.
Well, do primarily to being easily distracted by......what was I saying?  Oh yes, easily  distracted by other bright shiny objects, it took me over 4 months to get them all done.  Here is a quick group shot.

I still don't have any real futuristic urban terrain to use to shoot these guys.
Reggie and Torch still need to be sealed, but looking at the forecast it could be June before it stops raining.
The rest have already seen combat as some mercs for hire last week in Savage Rifts.

WIP ( with many individual shots) is here:  http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/78476-jasper-gets-back-to-painting-with-some-imef-marines/
