Our DM loves minion or pseudo minions that have powers that stack exponentially. Hit by 1, no problem. Surrounded by 6 and hit? You're dead because they are each doing +25 damage for each other minion near you.

But...things do not stack in 4E. That's the reason why. If the minions and pseudo minions powers stack, then it's only right that your party can stack hits and damages.

Our other wizard was brilliant last week...thinks running into the mob and using thunder wave is sneaky...sure killed a bunch of goblins and a cultist, but that 300' boom attracts attention...

We have casters that like to do Thunderwave while the entire party is in a cave.....instant deafened PC's and NPC's.....

One of my party members wanted to try out DMing. He presented an area filed with 16 cultists, two hostages, a lead cultist, and a dog. The wizard of the party was last in initiative and really wanted to use that spell when all members of the party were engaged in some form or another with the npcs. Our rogue had snuck in and was holding a dagger to the leader's throat. She used it anyway. :(
