The thing mixes the SC75 paints in about 20 seconds to smooth like butter!

If it's mixing your paints to the consistency of butter, you might have it plugged in backwards or something, lol...

I've done bodypainting before... Don't have permission to show the pics, though, and couldn't show 'em here anyway, lol.

Although, the older SC75 paints seem to be about as thick as butter coming out of the bottle... this just gets them mixed up and no separation of pigments lol

After the eyestrain from the first time I was painting at the FLGS, I figured that this would be a good investment.

you should buy some of their bulbs for your home painting station...

well worth the investment....

My Vortex mixer just arrived! It's awesome. I wiped it all down with a clorox wipe to get rid of the dust/dirt/grime/germs on it before I started using it. The thing mixes the SC75 paints in about 20 seconds to smooth like butter!

Told you so.....

It mixes them up quick even after 2 months+ of not using them too!!!!

HOme station is fine since the dining room light is directly over me, it's the FLGS light situation that's hard on my eyeballs.

But I took the Stoopid light off...

I never use that light either.

The lenses are good though.

So I travelled to my FLGS in NYC today, hoping to gate last months and this months mini of the month, and saw neither....

So I grabbed some GW paints I needed refills of, and after checking ou, I spoke to the owner, and asked about the minis...

He said "Oh you mean this one?" and reached down into a box behind the counter and put Elanter on the counter, and said, "It hasn't been released yet."

I asked if I could buy it or would have to wait, and he said,

"You can HAVE IT, as I don't feel like writing up a receipt!"

I have been going there since 1978.....:poke:

I've had 2 pm me and say  that they can get me last month's mini!

Also, the store had a bunch of Eli Quicknight and Trista Loremistress, and 2 Grim Reaper's if anyone is hunting those...

Well, had a little bit of free time on Saturday as a friend kidnapped my daughter for waterpark fun.  Woo!  Free time.

What do I do with free time?  I don't remember.

Well, I ended up going by the FLGS, Wizard's Chest, but nothing was really grabbing me, so I ended up picking up a pack of Star Realms promo cards and a "Mocking Beast" figure off of the wall of Reaper.  I think I've already got one, but eh - it was $2.49.

Received our KS copy of Fate of the Elder Gods. I'm excited to get into it.

Still have not received my Reaper order for August. I suspect we have a lazy mail person who does not like climbing stairs and so the post office is holding it hostage.

      Hi everyone.
Here is a mini I have been working on for several weeks.
Lately, I am lucky to be able to paint a little every day.
Unfortunately, it is only for 5-15 minutes at a time.

This figure is part of my growing batch of options for my GM running us through the Pathfinder Adventure Path, Reign of Winter.
I always thought blue, white, and gold were good colors together.  It is popular in many heraldic devices.

I am most happy with this figure in terms of the following:
The freehand wood grain of the axe, the outcome of the gold NMM on the belt buckle/hardware in front.
Also, getting his eyes right in the recesses of his helmet.

What I am least happy with is the runes along the white part of the tabard trim.  The area is too small to work with to really get good darklining around each rune, so they are a little indistinct.  Also, I tried to make each one its own independent polished gold SENMM.  I don't think it turned out too well, because it's just too small an area for each piece.  I tried it on the scabbard as well, which worked a little better.  But, this is the most confusing part of highly polished SENMM:  Do multiple pieces at different heights have their own horizon line?  I painted it as if they do, but am not sure that's realistic...
Also, the transition of the cow horns on his helmet is a little washed out in the photo, but also very subtle in hand.

      Finally, one additional comment.
I have seen a lot of posts about this figure comparing it to the metal version, and bemoaning a lack of detail in the BONES version.
I really tried to bring out the life of this BONES model, because I personally feel that the sculpt is great, and the translation to BONES is very good.

So, without further ado, here is my version of Sigurd, Viking, BONES 77399.

Please provide C&C, especially as it pertains to the issues I brought up above.
      Thank you.
