28mm Orcs by kievan day

Recommended Posts

Part of me wants to respect and support the small businessman.

Part of me says, "I already have more orcs than I know what to do with. If they were all real, I could conquer a small village with my Tre Manor orcs, all by themselves."

I'd need to add in my Pig Faced Orcs, my Games Workshop Orc Army that I quit playing when they changed the dratted rules on me, my old TSR orcs, my Mage Knight Orcs, my D&D Minis Orcs, my HeroQuest Orcs, my HeroScape Orcs, my LOTR Orcs...

I'd love to see a comprehensive index of every Orc ever made.

Haha I bet Monkeysloth and Buglips could generate one. They're like the Wondertwins of miniature knowledge.

I wish indie artists so much success...but that orc looks like a direct copy of Grandma Wendy. I can understand trying to cash in on the popularity, but I prefer to see indie artists who are bringing a unique vision to the table.

And yes to the pile of orcs. I also have some old Asgard orcs that were sculpted by Jes Goodwin, just to bring it full circle. Way before the GW orcs became their more cliche style.

They've crossed their goal on this one. I'm kind of thinking about the 20 orcs plus the shaman.

...my World of Warcraft orcs, my Heritage orcs, my other LOTR orcs, my Tre Manor Orcpocalypse orcs, my old no-name orcs that look like angry lumps of lead wearing little helmets and waving little axes that date from 1978, my Dragonstrike orcs...

This is by Bob Naismith, who has a long pedigree in figure design.

I really like all of it, especially the hoverbikes. But the prices are steep. I might buy a couple of display pieces, wish I could afford an army.

Skirmish game in the Kings of War setting.  There's a rules preview link in the kickstarter description.

For new models there are two forces to choose from initially.  Big images in the Hidden Contents below.

Kickstarter is Live and has reached the initial funding level:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/star-saga-the-sci-fi-dungeon-crawler?ref=nav_search

      From the Mantic Newsletter:
"Star Saga: The Eiras Contract will see players guide a team of space mercenaries on a mission to retrieve stolen data plans from a research facility orbiting a far-off alien world. Players will take on platoons of minions, powerful alien bosses and be forced to make difficult choices as the story takes unexpected twists and turns.

The spiritual sequel to Dungeon Saga, Star Saga introduces newly improved and stronger rulesets, 'learn as you go' rules for new players and, more detailed, advanced mechanics for seasoned gamers."

If it wasn't for Mantics long history of fulfilment issues/delays/changes I'd be tempted by this. It sounds like the game I've been waiting for.
Instead I'll likely just keep an eye on the Kickstarter and consider buying at retail.

I don't think I saw this one posted here before, but with 48 hours left, I thought I'd share this fun-looking little film project.

I backed his Chaos warrior and Goblin Kickstarters. Very nice minis, delivery a bit delayed but communications good, both Kickstarters were well worth it.
