Old Ral Partha Shadowrun Ork Street Samurai Woman

Recommended Posts

I realized I hadn't posted all the old Shadowrun Ral Partha figures I painted last year.

This is an ork woman street samurai.  Like all old Parthas, her base is integral and pre-sculpted.

I think I prefer the new Shadowrun aesthetic, where even orks can be kind of cute.  This one is pretty grotesque.

The rest of the Shadowrun pieces I painted at the same time are Reaper's own Caine, Cyber-Troll, a Troll woman from Wolfram's Gang, a Wolfram's gang troll with tattoos, an Oni bouncer, a cyber-troll in reflective armor, and the marvelously over-the-top Lord Torgo.

Haven't post anything here for so long...

I'm not really following any color scheme here, since I am not familiar with the lore of CAV at all (I'm more interested in the game).

Also I wish I learnt a bit more about painting technique for glowing effect before painting the windows...

Can't believe I missed this one until now.  I didn't have a printer during their previous projects, but I'm definitely in on this one.  Less than 48 hours to go.  Link added.

Sometimes I like to turn the shipping containers into bunkers or other little outposty things. I got some kind of not-great pics this time. They're taken in various stages, so flock missing in some/not in others, and some areas do not appear painted here, that were painted later.

EDIT: Hmmm.... I stuck these here because they started out as Reaper (models), but now I wonder if this should be in the terrain section.

This miniature is 15503C Nyamaunir Piratin, a catgirl pirate from Das Schwarze Auge (The Dark Eye, Germany's 1980s answer to Dungeons and Dragons). She's a little Old School and a little short even for that. I like that she looks like a cat who is a person in sensible pirating clothes.

There was a WIP thread, but it didn't get very far.

So at the same time I was working on my female hill giant, I was also working on two centaurs that the great Julie Guthrie had sculpted around 1982. I did them at the same time because I was looking for the same flesh tones because both I figured spend tons of time outside so should be very tan.

Anyhow, an advanced warning and a link because the female centaur is showing off her mammal parts, so here's a link to her front:

      Female Centaur front

      and from the other side:

As well as her male companion, who is chasing her around it seems like:

Anyway a flash back into the past.  These centaurs weren't actually available too long either, being replaced by other figures under their same code.  I was told that if a set or figure didn't sell at least 200 pieces, they would get retired, so I imagine this might have been their fate back then which is a pity because they are really beautiful minis.

And I've had both of these since the eighties, but finally got around to painting them, so hope you enjoy! It's never too late to paint a mini!
