Fulfilling
Raging Heroes: Dark Elves and Sisters

2104 posts in this topic

Nothing makes me think of strippers like skulls, blood and weapons.

There are way too many of these I want.

I even like some of the sisters, but only since they look like they would work well with some satanic evil paint jobs.

I am so excited for this one. Then I am am on a no more minis until I get that last 20 worked on.

This will not go well for my budget. There are some really phenomenal concepts and they've proven the ability to carry the concepts forward through sculpting, and not shy away from keeping at it until they're right. Great, dynamic stuff.

I think I'm going with their spincast this time around, if offered. The metal is good for the most part, clean casts. But I have a number of models that came out with a rough texture that isn't present on the spincast stuff, which looks great (I have the JB troop set as an example). The hand-poured resin is beautiful, but spendy (worth it if you have the dough, for certain!).

While it took a while, I was impressed with their commitment to quality...and how often they went back to the drawing board. /fanboy off

I hope they will be able to ship out some of the freebies offered before this project ends. I'd really want to see the quality before going in too heavy in this one. :)

I know I am not the most impartial voice, but the models I have received have been really great. Good detail and solid casts.

I'm planning on backing but probably not going as much in as possible.  Probably going to see what the freebes are and what that pledge level will be but need to stay pretty low.

I'll probably end up backing, but I do have 20 figures to paint and don't want to break the bank getting too many more.

In the most distant reaches of the world, magic still exists, embodied by spirits of the land, of the sky, and of every natural thing. As the great powers of Europe stretch their colonial empires further and further, they will inevitably lay claim to a place where spirits still hold power - and when they do, the land itself will fight back alongside the islanders who live there.

Spirit Island is a cooperative, settler-destruction strategy game for 1 to 4 players designed by R. Eric Reuss and set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700. Players are different spirits of the land, each with their own unique elemental powers, forced to defend their island home from colonizing Invaders spreading blight and destruction. Work with your fellow spirits and the native islanders to increase your power and drive the invading colonists from your island in this strategic area-control game.

This game was playtested at some of my Fourth of July parties, and though I haven't had a chance to play it yet myself, the game comes highly recommended.

The interesting bit here is that you play neither the Invaders nor the Inhabitants of the island, but the spirits trying to alter the balance of power in defense of the Inhabitants themselves.
