Ser Loras Tyrell - Knight of the Flowers

Recommended Posts

Fantastic job on him, Jay!

Great basing, I'd have added flowers to it for the whole "flower knight" vibe (if you have them that is, if you don't and want some to add, please PM me).

I'm not crazy about the figure itself personally (I don't like the back of the cloak very much and the sculpted flowers), but you did a great job with what you had to work with.

Thanks Ub3r,

I don't have any flowers to add to the mini, but I will order some

from the landscape folks.  I was rather surprised by the cloak also.

The "Flowers" just seemed to be a nuisance to paint.

It was quite the challenge to paint though!

So I am quite happy with it !

The figure came out nice a usual.  I would also like to add a vote to flowers on the base.  The base is nice, but it has a lot of open, unused space.

I think you leveled up your painting again, Jay! That is an awesome job on a tiny figure with a ton of detail.

Thanks Silvervane !

I left a lot of area's in front of the figure to allow me to place flowering plants in front of the Knight.

I just don't have Anything to fill that role.

I agree he needs some color up front to cover those slates. :)

Tusen Takk Citrine !

Praise from you is a reason to smile.

You are so magnificent at this craft !

Thank you, and we keep on striving to do better.

This was chosen because of all those details, I have to get the brushes under control.

and also the freehand !

Hi all, here is this week's Critter. The details on this model are beautiful. The pineapple is nice wink to the Earl of Dunmore and the Scotland culture. I may need to paint a strap to hold these three vials in place. DSM8110, Scottish Fold Cat Cleric with Warhammer was sculpted by David Summers for Dark Sword Miniatures, Critter Kingdoms Anthropomorphic Animals line. It's a three-piece model and I've painted the shield and hammer before gluing them to the body.

Hi everyone, here is my latest Critter, Frankie the Rogue. I like the bohemian appearance of this model. I'd say the bardic way of life came naturally for this Siamese Cat.
This two-piece model is DSM8104, Frankie Cat Rogue with Dagger from Dark Sword Miniatures, Critter Kingdoms, Anthropomorphic Animals range. It was sculpted by David Summers. I painted the cape and the body separately before gluing them together.

I Don't have much to go on with this dragon.  its another one that has been sitting half finished on my shelf forever.  the bottom has some script on the bottom that looks like FWS and an 8.  other than that I don't have any clue where it comes from.

but I finally dusted the mini off, freshened up the red (It was becoming a pink dragon) and decided to display it here.  hope everyone enjoys!

What else to finish off the month of January but another dragon from my shelf of shame?  This is Ollie.  Ollie is from Impact miniatures and is supposed to be a mascot for one of the bloodbowl teams.  Tom Acquired the license to produce him and I got a copy.  I used him to test a number of different red effects and styles while working on another, bigger dragon.  The skills may not have panned out like I wanted but Ollie still came out pretty well and deserved to be finished and shown off.  Pictures are still with a phone camera but at least I got to my light box!  So without further ado:

Hi everyone. I managed to complete another Critter Yesterday and took some pictures today. Being a fan of the Viking tv show, I really enjoyed painting this one. I went for orange fur this time, purrfect for a Norse Cat. This two-piece model is DSM8103, Cat Warrior with Battle Axe from Dark Sword Miniatures, Critter Kingdoms, Anthropomorphic Animals range. It was sculpted by David Summers. I painted the fur cape and the body separately before gluing them together.
