Inspired by the literary traditions of sword-and-sorcery adventure, lost worlds, and fantastic horror, the land of Primeval Thule is a savage, intense campaign setting. This is a world of barbarian freebooters and dark magic, star-spawned monstrosities and elder gods, fabulous treasures and mind-blasting terror. Hunt saber-tooth cats in steaming jungles—explore ancient cities buried in the relentless ice— battle dark cults and bloody-handed tyrants in decadent city-states. A world of glory and riches is yours to seize!

Thule’s influences are classic pulp fantasy stories such as Robert E. Howard’s Conan stories, H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos, and Edgar Rice Burrough’s tales of savage worlds, as brought to life by the unforgettable illustrations of artists such as Frank Frazetta and Roy Krenkel. These lurid stories and images of brawling action and cosmic horror are the bones, blood, and sinews of the Primeval Thule campaign—and it’s fantasy adventure the way it was meant to be played. Want to read about Thule for yourself? The Primeval Thule Traveler's Guide, a 36-page PDF that serves as our introduction to this awesome setting, is now available for free at DrivethruRPG!

Erm... I pledged on it a bit ago for the EB that gave the book and PDFs for $60. It looks cool and is right in my wheelhouse and we are enjoying the heck outta 5E!

I was interested in the original version of this until I saw it was only for game systems I loath. I've got it on remind but I'm not sure I'll have the funds.

Looking around the interwebs, right now you can find the pathfinder and 4e editions for less than 40$. I guess the same will happen for the 5e, so waiting could be a good a idea.

Quite frankly, I think that given the apparent success of 5e, we'll see a 5e edition of the setting sooner or later, the KS will only make sure it will happen faster.

I'm backing this because I want it asap ::):

I backed their first KS for the Pathfinder edition, and it's a pretty damn cool setting: I can recommend it.

I think the $60 level is worth it, as long as you get in early enough to get the digital / paper copies. Otherwise, probably better to wait until after fulfillment money wise.

I'm glad I snagged the combined level. The PDF content is decent.

I'm pledged for the PDFs. It looks like a really cool setting, looking forward to running it with 5e. I too am absolutely loving playing 5e. I probably wouldn't back the hardcover anyway, but I'm pretty surprised that for $60 you don't also get the PDF... you have to pay another $15 just to get the PDF... unless you happen to be one of the first 50 people to pledge. I'm not a fan of that style of pledge level.

About a half hour later and they're all gone.  I guess if I'd followed closer I would have known the exact hour it went live, as I did with Bones 3. Thankfully Reaper doesn't do those kinds of hi jinks.

I wonder how long it will take for WotC to shut this down for infringing on their closed 5e license...

They won't. (I strongly, very strongly, doubt it.)  Frog God Games and Goodman Games have done Kickstarters for 5e compatible material already with no complaint. They're all utilizing the OGL to use the terminology they need without infringing; and they're careful to stay away from IP protected stuff (like "Illithid" for example).  It may be the case that they cannot refer to things like "advantage / disadvantage" without infringing, I don't know. I'm not a lawyer, but they do have lawyers making sure their butts are covered. Also, Sasquatch (and Frog God) have very close relationships with the WotC team, they've done major contract work for them... as many released books have been contract work by these folks and folks like them as have been internally developed. They have insiders like Steve Winter and Ed Greenwood working with them as well. If it wasn't on the level it wouldn't be happening.

I looked up both of those companies' kickstarters....none of which currently say they are D&D 5e compatible on their kickstarters. Frog god's are all Pathfinder and Sword and Sorcery compatible. Goodman Game's says Fifth Edition fantasy and is worded so loosely you can't tell what system it's for.

These guys are game industry vets. I wouldn't even be surprised if this was given the blessing ahead of time, considering how recently the Sasquatches worked with WotC.

Sure, but they are no longer employed by them. This does not mean an all out approval by WotC. Nonchalantly accepting that it is without any written indication is how you get backers. If they had it, it would have been mentioned. Just don't be surprised if 2 days before it funds or during fulfillment they decide to "change" it to a more generic setting.

The only mention of D&D5e in the campaign page is in the list of the author credits. There is no claim that the book is designed for D&D5e:

Primeval Thule 5th Edition is a sword-and-sorcery campaign setting inspired by stories of Conan and Cthulhu, now designed for the newest version of your favorite roleplaying game!

Do yourself a favour and take a look at what's on offer even if you've not backed one of Stonehavens projects before.
Lots of unique and fun concepts scattered throughout,

Plus they've done things a bit differently and have everything already sculpted and shown.

      Love the cloaked mysterious strangers.

      About this project
We love miniatures. We love tabletop games. We love anthropomorphic animals, from Disney's Robin Hood through The Wind in the Willows to Brian Jaques' Redwall books. So we combined the things we love in our Burrows & Badgers range of metal miniatures.
      Why are we making them?
Because we want them! And we know a lot of other people are looking for more anthropomorphic animal miniatures too. Some will want to use them for wargaming or roleplaying. That's what we do with ours - and there's a link below to a free .pdf copy of the Burrows & Badgers Skirmish Game rules for you to download, if you feel like trying it out.
Other people love painting miniatures, and our figures are perfect for that, full of character ready to be brought to life with your paintbrush....
And some people just love collecting miniatures; again, we've made this new set of Burrows & Badgers figures perfect for collectors. They are all single piece models, with integral bases, so there are no fiddly parts to be glued on.
We love making miniatures; we hope you'll love our miniatures too.
      Why we need your help...
We've got 13 new miniatures sculpted, but they need to have moulds made before we can start producing the miniatures. And that's why we need funding; to get the moulds made, and get the casting process started.
      About the miniatures...
There are other ranges of anthropomorphic animal miniatures out there, but ours are a little different. We didn't want all the races of animals to be the same size. Instead, we've scaled them to each other; so a shrew or a mouse is a very small model, about 20mm tall, and a really big animal like a badger will stand about 50mm tall, for example.
Each sculpted figure shown below has a scale picture with it, showing its height in millimetres. All our models are supplied unpainted.
And if you are interested in doing some anthro skirmish gaming, here's the link to the Burrows & Badgers website, where you can download .pdf files of the rules, warband rosters, FAQs and more:

      The Pledges
Below you'll see pictures of the different Pledge levels available. Each picture shows you what's included in the Pledge, then below them you can see close-up pictures of the individual miniatures, which also include the prices if you want to add extra miniatures to any Pledge. Shipping costs vary depending on where you are; there's a graphic at the bottom of this page that lists all the shipping costs. All Pledges are set for an estimated delivery of December 2017, but we're hoping to deliver sooner than that.

      Pictures of the miniature sculpts
Below you can see pictures of each of the miniatures, and there's a scale image at the bottom right of each picture to show the height of the model in millimetres. There's also a price at the bottom of each picture, for the Pick'n'Mix pledge, or to add extra models to any pledge.

Hi there fellow gamer's and painters!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the Purgatory kickstarter that goes live on the 10th October 2016. You can preview the project here: https://goo.gl/g73jPiwhich will give you a flavour of what is to come.

In April we went to Salute and we took with us this artbook:
      https://goo.gl/5lT8Lc

You can find pictures of at least 5 of the starting factions alongside information on the background and the history of some of the characters themselves.

If you like what you see you can follow us on twitter @purgatoryminis or you can follow our facebook page: www.facebook.com/purgatoryminiatures along with the other 1600+ followers we are lucky to have. We have a website: www.purgatory-miniatures.co.uk that gives you more information on the game and the world as well as having a shop where you can pick up models like Erishkigal below.

You can see that we have some 'pedigree' in delivering highly detailed multi part resin models that are at 32mm scale. We have 7 models now released and the kickstarter bring the possibility of another 30 or more models that are all interchangeable to give you a dynamic and long lasting game.

The pledges feature a number of different levels, where the more you spend the greater the value. The £90 set for example, includes 15 models, all coming with a unique insert for their base. 15 stat cards, 15 San Ban cards, unique art, dice, hard copy rulebook and 60 Gift of the Gods cards. It really is packed with value.

So if you like the look of Purgatory, come on over and support the project as we ramp up for the War in Heaven!

      Thanks

      Team Purgatory

A smart holder system for painting and sculpting tabletop and board game miniatures - touchless, comfortable and much more precise.

I have the single deckers, and really like them. After failing to fund last time, the designer hit some trade shows, lined up some other financing, and has relaunched the campaign for double decker caddies. I think these would be great for games like Gloom that with the expansions quickly outgrow their original boxes.
