I will order a light meal & some tea. Some to tide me over but to keep my sense sharp, just in case.

Bucky takes you back to one of the private dinning rooms. He and two other waiters comes in after a while carrying trays loaded with food., “Sorry for the wait, I had to find Estelle.” (You all know Estelle is an elderly human female [rumors put her in her 90's] that works as the back up cook at the Candle.) The two waiters place the trays down and exit the room at a look from Bucky. Bucky waits until they leave the room.

I take it you got the Oldhef farm problem solved?”

Neo starts eating at a furious pace. He acts like he has not eaten for days.

Gayle had thought about protesting Desmond's going to meet the army alone, but then nodded. If he wasn't going to watch Neo, somebody would have to. The trip to the inn confirmed as much, and Gayle had borne even the bumping into her with a calm smile. She really would have to try and convince the twins to consult an expert; even if just by attracting unwanted attention, Neo might be a danger to himself and others if he had an episode like this during a greater quest. At the Sapphire Candle, she had ordered trout fillet and spiced wine.

When Bucky asks about the problem at the farm, she slightly inclines her head, then replies, "Bucky, I have my doubts the baroness would much appreciate details spreading as tavern rumors afore she has been reported to. And even if I were to allow the latter, surely the Oldhefs should be the ones to get the chance to spread them? Which reminds me, there is a detail I'd like to ask the family. Are they about?"

She then watches Neo eat, shaking her head slightly. If this was another side effect of whatever did momentarily possess him back at the cottage, it was another potential problem for taking him on more extended quests. Voracious appetites might burn through rations faster than a party might be able to afford. She really had to have a word with the brothers about trying to find someone who could help them better understand what it was that happened to Neo.

Bucky looks at Gayle, “ Mam, I assure you that The Baroness or Penn and the Oldhefs would be my only listeners. Anything told to me inside one of these private dinning rooms id held in the utmost confidence. I will bring the Oldhefs, so that you may ask your questions. I have sent word to the Baroness of your arrival, but with the new knights and and other army in town, she will have her hands full. I should warn you all. Thulsa Doom has put a price on each of your heads.” He takes a rolled up piece of paper out of his pocket and lays it down on the table. He leaves the room in search of the Oldhefs.

It reads 'Wanted: (shows the pictures of the party) Alive 100 GP, dead 50 GP, it is signed in an elegant script; Thulsa Doom

Gayle nods slightly, and replied to Bucky in an apologetic tone, "I'm sorry, it's just... the problem is rather more mundane than angry ghosts, but I'm not entirely sure if everything has been dealt with. Not the kind of situation anyone on the outside needs to know about. As for the bounty, frankly I am insulted. What kind of cowardly, ballsless maggot needs to resort to such tactics with a woman bound to accept an honorable challenge?" She smirked, then added, "That last one, I think I would not mind spreading. I rather imagine rumors of a young, arrogant blonde girl from some nobby family so blatantly disrespecting Doome should make it harder for him to keep other ambitious lowlifes in line, shouldn't it?"

Rolf listens to Gayle, but remains quite while eating. He also keeps an eye on the surroundings.

(In order to speed things along, I am making a long post. If you have questions or part take in a conversation after an NPC exits the room then anything you have said will be said before they exit.)

3rd Day (Sunday) of Gateway (The month of Gateway is only 6 days long.)

Upon seeing the party, Jed says,”Did you chase off the ghosts?”

After the party tells it's story:

Jed will say' “Thank you all. There is no way I could ever repay you, but anytime your out our way and you need a warm meal and a place to stay, well we have the barn and we would be awful glad to have you all stay at our place. “

Bucky will escort the family out of the room, shortly after in order to prepare to head home in the morning.

After the Oldhef leave, Penn will say, “I see you have seen the poster that the 'Thugs' are spreading around town. Doome may have signed the order, but Bane is the one, who is pushing that you be found and brought to him. I am fairly certain that Doome only signed the order, because Bane is starting to use you guys as his scapegoats. I will contact the Adventure's Guild and tell them you have successfully completed this contract. The Baroness has rented this private dinning room for you and rooms upstairs for you to sleep in. I suggest you stay here at the Candle for the next couple of days. Since you have 'saved' the Baroness live, I will tell you that we have a plan in motion, but I will not go into details.” He looks at each of you. Neo appears to have fallen asleep in his chair. “ I do not want you guys trying to lure out Bane, by going out. I understand your adventurers and you have put yourself in danger and will do so again, however, Bane will NOT fight fair. I do not want to have to put together a rescue operation for adventurer's who get themselves into trouble. My resources are streached thin, I have to have a detail on the Baroness and a detail even on myself, I also have men guarding the Candle, even though they are not needed. The Candle is Neutral ground as far as most everyone is concerned, however I can not speak for Bane and Doome. Bane is a maniac, who you have slighted and he wants blood and there is something about Doome.... “ He trails off as if he has had a thought. “If there is any thing you need please ask Bucky. He will see that you receive it. “ He gets up and hurries out of the room.

Shortly after Penn leaves Bucky enters, even though it is nearing evening, Bucky looks exhausted. He smiles as he enters the room, Supper will be serving in the next couple of hours, Master Surefoot has opened up his personal library if you wish to read and he has instructed me to tell you that the courtyard will be closed and the teachers at the Adventurer's Guild have agreed to come here, so that if you wish to workout you may do so. (The Candle surrounds the courtyard, with only horses{outside guest} and deliveries being made there. I do not have a concert floor plan for the Candle, yet, but I picture it with an enclosed courtyard and four or so stories) If you wish to hang out in here, I can have a few of our board games, cards, dice, what have you brought in here.”

Just then there is a timid knock on the door. Bucky moves swiftly and goes out the door. A few moments later, he reappears through the door. “ It appears that Desmond will not be attending dinner tonight and will not be back until tomorrow, as he has to attend the baroness' dinner tonight with the 'other' nobility.

Bucky will take any and all dinner orders as you are hungry.

When your ready for bed, Bucky shows you each to your room.

Duerro will order a steady supply of ale through the evening. Don't much like hiding but as the hospitality is good I'm willing to comply.

"I'd like to do a little sneaking, scout about, see if anyone is watching the building. I don't like this business. Politics are always noisesome and troubling. Land you in hot water faster than telling Mother Talltoes that she's put on some pounds."

Rolf will attempt to surreptitiously leave the inn and see what he can see.

"I tried scouting a bit, but I was seen. No surprise really, but I'm pretty sure we are being watched for. Just a heads up."

Rolf will then move a chair into the corner away from all doors and windows. Pulling out his axe he will pull his hat down over his eyes. "If you need me shout. I'm going to catch a little nod."

Gayle, having related theories on the farm invaders in rather more detail than presumably anyone cared for, had just listened to Penn's instructions and Bucky's offers silently, but it was apparent from her face that she was not comfortable with the overall situation. The somewhat restless pacing she did for a bit was a giveaway, too. Still, it took the news about Desmond for her to finally voice some of her misgivings.

"This isn't right. I should've gone with Desmond in a show of support and respect. But instead I'm sitting here letting others do the guarding where I should be the one protecting those in need. And what if Bane has taken note Neo and Desmond have joined us? He might try to get at Desmond as the easy target and to lure me, lure us out. It's not like he has misgivings about attacking the Baroness!"

She sighs, then looks at Bucky. "Would you kindly let the sheriff what I really need is some way to make myself useful? But first, let's get this tired soul to a proper bed. I'm sure that's what Desmond would do. Which is his room?" She moves over to Neo, looking like she's going to just try and pick the sleeping youngster up to carry him upstairs.

After dinner, I will peruse the library a bit before settling in for the night. While accustomed to sleeping the ground, a  nice warm bed is a well earned treat & I wasn't going to pass this one up.
