As if “House†was a magic word, the rain gets heavier. Within seconds your clothes are soaked. Even though this winter has been the warmest anyone has known, with the cloudy cover the temperature starts to drop, between that and the and the soaking rain, you realize that you need to get into the house and get warmed up.

The house is a simple wooden single story cottage, with a loft that covers half of the first floor sits on a rock foundation. The floor are made of thick wood floorboards. The walls are study white washed wooden walls. The smell of rotten food permeates the house. For being abandoned the house appears to be fairly tidy. There is firewood stacked neatly next to the fireplace. A table in front of the fireplace has a horse harness that needs to be mended. Along the east wall runs a counter top with a wash basin in it, which is full of smelly water.

Duero wrinkles his nose at the pungent odor. "Ghost or no, its a shame to let good food go to waste. Could have at least taken it with them"

He hangs his wet coak over the back of a chair and and heads over to the fireplace to attempt to get a fire going.

Gayle wrinkles her nose as the smell fills her nostrils, briefly shaking her head in visible disgust. After a few moments of collecting herself, she looks around, then walks over towards what appears to be a bed with some kind of chest or footlocker in front of it. If there really were tiny humanoid bandits of some sort, surely that would look plundered.

After getting inside. Amyrll shakes himself to get some of the water off. "Heh, too bad no cantrips to dry myself or everyone...." he says with a smirk. He takes a quick survey of the area, noting anything that appears out of place. Of course the rotten smell is something he can't miss. "Nasty" he says as starts to make a more through inspection of the place. He starts looking at the floor for any hidden trap doors that might lead to a cellar.

Rolf is still standing just inside of the door.

Desmond makes his way up the stairs to check out the loft.

Neo heads over to the cabinets.

Outside the rain seems to get even heavier. A cold wind blows through the open door, giving everyone a cold shiver. You all seem to hear cold mocking laughter in the wind, or is it your imagination and nerves?

Rolf will glance outside quickly to see if he can ascertain the source of the laughter. If nothing is evident he will quickly shut the door, and search for a way to lock/bar it if that becomes necessary.

Looking at the chest, which does seem shut from afar, Gayle slightly tilts her head. She then apparently walks by it, to the foot end of the bed, before stopping and crouching down, a hand to her ear as if listening at the chest.

"Blasted thornberry!!!" Duero cries out.

"Must have missed a thorn when they were splitting it" he mutters as he tosses a final log on the fire.

"Whacha got there Gayle? Gremlins in the chest?"

The light from outside is fading and the only light you will have in a few minutes will be from the fire that Duero has now lit. All of a sudden there is a huge crashing sound followed by the sounds of breaking plates and cups. .

Rolf will spin around and put his back against the door. Pulling his axe he will crouch down and try to ascertain where the crashing sound came from, and what made it. If nothing is readily evident he will try to quickly light candle.

Briefly rolling her eyes at Duero's shouting, Gayle seems to look at a part of the floor more closely before looking up at the dwarf, and pointing down, just saying, "You tell me."

At the sudden noise, she straightens up, then quickly moves as if to block a direct path from the counter toward the part of the floor she had been examining. Could be a tiny humanoid hoping to flee, and she guesses that part of the floor back there would be their way out.

As everyone is examining things, Anthryll, see something in the floor. He is about to say something when the commotion starts. He holds his bow out with a arrow ready to fly if needed.

from the kitchen area you hear Neo scream and mumble under his breath, “ I am fine, just some dishes fell out when I opened the cabinet. They may have been leaning against the door. Hey, I found a lantern!†Suddenly Neo screams again, quickly followed by the sound of breaking glass. “Desmond, I hear the voices again.â€, there is a slight hint of hysteria in his voice. You can hear Desmond running in the loft, “I am coming Neo.â€

You also can barely make out said voices, that seem to be just above a whisper and are getting louder,

“LEAVE. THIS. PLACE.,LEAVE. THIS. PLACE, LEAVE. THIS. PLACE, LEAVE. THIS. PLACE.â€

Then not just one, but several join in the chorus, all repeating the same three words, then they fall silent and a final

“OR. DIE.â€

"Don't much like taking orders from things I can't see... " mutters Duero. "Not too keen on keeling over for anybody no matter how seeable".

He readies his weapon behind his back. With his free hand he grabs a handful of ash from the corner of the fireplace. With a flick of his wrist, scatters the ash over the open floor.

Gayle nods slightly at Duero's scattering of ashes. Smart move, and it shows he too suspects small to tiny creatures that were somehow invisible. The question is, are they something truly troublesome like imps, or merely some kind of fay up to silly mischief? She'd soon have a clue. Looking it the direction of the kitchen area, the holy warrior concentrates to Detect Evil.
