Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

Recommended Posts

I'll be one of the last people of Wave 1, then - I didn't lock in until mid-October.

You'll be before me.   I had two other people who invested through me, and it took a while to get us all into place to go over what everyone was getting.

Chances are that our orders will ship on the same day anyway, so it really won't make a difference.

As a wave 1 Australian it will be interesting to see what the time difference is between the USA wave 1 shipping notice and mine. I suspect mine will potentially be a lot later. My friends  also have a wave 4 and a wave 10, be interesting to see if wave 1 gives me any advantage

I have an empty one waiting patiently. Meanwhile the one with Bones II is hiding from me. [  ] Which is getting annoying.

Need happy news.

I put all mine in the same box, with everything divided into ziplock baggies based (roughly) on type. Dunno what I'm gonna do with the new stuff, most of it is the big minis, those won't fit in my box.

I'm wave 1 in Canada and I got a notice yesterday. But it's just a notice that a label has been created, not a shipping notice. This is the shipping info:

Scheduled Delivery: An additional ship notification with a scheduled delivery date will be sent when your shipment is received by the destination country.

24.20 lbs, that's a lot of bones

Patience, grasshoppers. It's been a year plus; a few more days isn't that big a deal.

Considering I've seen mention of pledge boxes anywhere from 20-30 pounds...I'm kind of terrified how big ours is going to be. I went back over our pledge(s), and, well, $NNN worth of Bones is a whole lot of minis.

Besides, it's not like getting it sooner is gonna get them painted any sooner.

I have often been saddened by the fact I was unable to participate in this KS campaign. But I also realized the other day that, even if I had, I already have more minis to paint than I know what to do with.  I have at least 35 minis that I purchased in the last year, that sit unopened. At the speed I paint, and factoring in a few more purchases, I will be finished with the ones I have around the time Bones IV releases...and I mean for shipment like 3 currently is.

You say that, but a few days might make the difference of delivery before memorial day or after!

Oooh, that's a good point, I hadn't considered that. Hm.... If our pledge doesn't ship tomorrow...actually there's a very good chance it would arrive right while we're away at PaizoCon. Well dang it.

I wouldn't mind that, except whether a package is delivered to the apt office or left on our doorstep depends on the person delivering that day, and whether the apt manager is there. Debating whether to change our address to a nearby friend's so I won't have to worry....

Try and edit your address real quick to have Address 2 field be "Please deliver to office."

We changed ours to a friend's address when we left for vacation, as we weren't sure if it would deliver while we were gone.

We've decided to leave it - better to suck in another friend (or scare them away with the sheer amount?) than let his parents see just how many dragons I bought.

And repeated loadings/unloadings followed by being spread out across the country will scramble the waves anyway.  The USPS doesn't care who locked in their pledge first.

With normal shipping times of two-ish weeks, I'm getting really close to mine arriving right around when I'm in Montreal for a week....

      About this project
Help Cold War Miniatures to launch a new range of Resin Wargame Minis for Gamers, Collectors and Painters.
Hawkmen by Cold War Minis Inspired by the old black and white serials but with a modern twist, these minis are an imagining of a range from a "rediscovered lost serial".
Adversarial Aliens, Despotic Dictators and Rampaging Robot Legions are all planned, the range launches with the Heroic Hawkmen.
The range is scaled at "Heroic 28" (32mm) which is a standard size for current Sci-Fi and Fantasy Minis. At this size they are slightly taller than some older 28mm ranges and slightly shorter than some newer ranges but should sit well alongside both. They are also proportioned to be "fairly chunky" like traditional putty sculpted minis.
(Picture of other manufactures products for comparison purposes only)
Comparison  The Hawkmen are sculpted digitally and will be produced in Resin as the lighter weight allows for more dynamic poses and makes the flying poses more stable on a stand. The minis will be supplied with plastic bases and flying stands where appropriate.
To start with there are 10 designs available, half in flight and half on the ground with more designs, optional extras, specials and exclusives available to unlock if they are popular and the campaign progresses.
      Hawkmen in Flight
      Grounded Hawkmen
Stretch Goal Preview  If the initial target is reached then as a thank you backers who pledge £30 (Pick a Wing) or more will receive an exclusive Kickstarter mini, that won't be included in the retail range. More to come later.
KS Exclusive when funding reached Manufacture and Shipping will be from the UK and will ship worldwide. Shipping costs are currently an estimate and will be fully calculated after the KS ends as every backer could have different requirements depending on chosen options and location. It will be upfront based on the Royal Mail's Pricing (http://www.royalmail.com/price-finder) + a small packaging charge with options for regular or tracked shipping.
A quick note on the Video
All images and visual elements made by Cold War Minis, the soundtrack is lifted from the 1934 movie "The Evil Mind" under Creative Commons as it is now in the public domain, for anyone interested the full movie is available to view here

      New Kickstarter starting in November

Mythic Games aims at creating and developing high quality games, combining great mechanics massively play tested and demoed in public with spectacular visuals and miniatures designed by world renowned artists.
Monolith (click) instantly became a reference in the world of high quality miniatures board games with Conan, which raised over $3.3 million on Kickstarter.
Monolith and Mythic Games joined forces to co-publish Mythic Battles: Pantheon, which will soon hit Kickstarter

Looks like you control a God (giant sized) and its faction (human sized).

      About this project
This is a campaign to fund the launch of a set of 28mm Shambling Mound models for RPG and tabletop games. I have sculpted two adult Shamblers and a young Shambler. Initially the two adults will be offered for the campaign.
If we are able to hit the £1000 stretch goal for the campaign it will unlock the Young Shambler miniature.
If unlocked this figure will be added FREE to all backers.
This is a World Wide campaign with the postage as follows:
United Kingdom 4GBP, Europe 5GBP and Rest of the World 6GBP.
      Campaign Rewards.
      There are 3 reward levels.
Supporter. If you would like to back the campaign without receiving any of the rewards you can use this pledge level.
Lone Shambler! Choose this pledge if you would like one of the two Shambling Mould models. Choose from either SM 1: Shambler Walking or SM 2: Shambler Attacking.
Double Trouble! Choose this pledge level if you would like both SM 1 and SM 2 Shambling Mound sculpts.
      The Models.
The Shambling Mound models will be cast in high quality grey resin. They have been designed to fit on either a 40mm square or round base.

SM 2: Shambler Attacking is a two part model and will need assembly. Use superglue to attach seperate arm.
      Stretch goal!
We start the campaign with this initial stretch goal to aim for. If we get to the goal of £1000 the the Young Shambler will be unlocked and added FREE to all pledges. Additional Young Shambler models can be added for £2.

We think these will be great fun and an unusual addition for fantasy wargames, skirmish and role playing games. There are all 28mm scale, cast in metal- they will come with plastic bases supplied.

If the campaign goes well we have some extra characters and a potential terrain feature we'll add in as stretch goals and freebies.
