These are a set of graveyard decor I purchased a couple decades ago; I pulled 'em out and had a go at speed painting the whole lot, it probably took about 10 hours all together. I was doing fairly well the first night, then I started to get all fiddly with them. You can still get these from Scotia Grendel; their website says that they are resin. These are not, they are some kind of plaster. I did NOT buy them from Scotia Grendel; my best guess is that these are some kind of knock-off. The finger prints you might see on some of the pieces are not mine; they are part of the cast. Anyway, they're not great, but they'll look fine on the table top.

'Come along, then,' the aged and stooped groundskeeper says. 'It won't do to have any of you get lost in here, especially with the night approaching.'

'Here we come across the resting place of Darius Vamdrin, the duke's third son, slain 9 winters ago by orc raiders'

'The next site we come to is the burial place of the husband and wife adventuring team of Borgrim Swiftsteel and Amri Eshalka. They were a part of the band that aided our fair city in throwing off the yoke of the dreaded overlord.'

'Stay together, now. We're getting to the older part of the cemetary.'

'This lonely stone marks the resting place of Crothian Silvereye, whose murder was the cause of the riots that eventually brought the dread overlord to power.'

post-12095-0-84896800-1441136078_thumb.jpg

'Finally, over here we have...oh dear. Ah...step this way, if you please.'

'What's that, dear child?'

'Of course that grave hasn't been dug out of, this must be the work of grave robbers'. The old man glances around, into the deepening gloom, 'Ah...how many were with the group when we started out?'

You did a FINE job coping with the various short comings of the pieces. They might do with some greenery, but otherwise GREAT WORK!

Thank you, and thanks for reminding me; I was wondering about putting some flock and/or static grass on them.

Good idea?

Well there are lots of soil enriching nutrients in Graveyards; a mushroom or two would be nice also...I'll bet you saw that one coming.

I was just thinking, that way you can cover up fingerprints too.

And it DOES add character to gravestones and such.

Should you have a few rats, crows insects or such things in your bits box, you could enhance them even more.

Anyway, Good pieces. Always nice to see some terrain.

Those really aren't very good casts are they? Nice work with them. I have a couple of Scotia Grendel bits and bobs, and while they are clearly late 80's / early 90's they're not bad.

Those really aren't very good casts are they? No, not really. They're tricky, too. Most of the blemishes didn't show up until I put paint on the pieces.

Nice work with them. Thank you.

I have a couple of Scotia Grendel bits and bobs, and while they are clearly late 80's / early 90's they're not bad. I'd just like to re-emphasize that these pieces are NOT by Scotia Grendel; they're cheap knock-offs that I came across somewhere. I have some SG pieces, and they are resin, not plaster like these. The SG pieces are much better quality.

Nice job! I was enjoying storytime too!

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the paint and the narrative.

Ok, I've got the box organized and packed; hopefully I can make to the post office Monday to start it on it's way.

      Here's the list:

      Ratmaster 2000--arrived 10/31, sent 11/1
      SGhawkins 09--arrived11/2, sent 11/10
      ShadowPhase--arrived 11/13, sent 11/16
      Strawhat--arrived 11/19, sent 12/1
      GlitterWolf--arrived 12/10
      RobinH--arrived 1/8, sent 1/9
      Necromancer---arrived 1/14, sent 1/16
      Generic Fighter--arrived 1/18, sent 1/22
      Disserma--arrived 1/24, sent 2/6
      RedAmbrosia--arrived 2/8
      Ttuckerman
      Fire Eyes
      Chris Palmer
      Sanael

If there's anything left, send it back to me, and it'll get put into the next (regular version) BoGW that happens.

There are enough items included for everyone to make four (4) picks. After you've grabbed some stuff, seal it back up and send it the next person. This is all based on the generosity of people at Reapercon, so there's no need to put anything back in; this is a straight up gift.
There are 2 pairs of sunglasses in there; they don't have anything to do with Reaper/Reapercon other than that they were in the swag bag, and (I'm guessing) donated by the city of Denton. If you want a pair take 'em, they don't have to count as one of your 4 items, unless your conscience dictates otherwise.
If you want to help out with international shipping fees (and no one is under any obligation to do so) contact Strawhat, GlitterWolf, or RobinH to work something out.

A big THANK YOU!! to everyone who donated stuff for this to happen.

If my memory is working properly, I think this guy came out a blister pack marked Ral Partha Imports, so he may have originally been a citadel sculpt. In any case, he's older than at least some of you reading this. His paint got pretty badly dinged up in a move, so i decided to fix him up. Which led to a complete repaint. I hope you  like him.

I made these three guys out of my bits box. The bodies and arms are Wargames Factory Vikings, the heads and weapons are from various other sources. The Wargames Factory bits have rather shallow detail, so I didn't spend too much time painting them. I figure they'll make good village militia and/or bandits. Background figures whose job is to take up space and get killed by either the heroes or the orcs.

Well, just the treasure right now; I'll get around to the candelabra sooner or later. I'm not entirely sold on my distribution of wealth; I think next time I'll paint it all gold and try to pick out coins in other colors instead of starting with silver.
