So this bad boy is on the painting table! (Ok technically he's been on the painting table for months, but now he's slated to get actually painted!)

Son wants red with black o.O like red wings going to necrotic black... he always wants to challenge me ><

(Guildy looks on in confusion as they appear to have moved the 'quote' button and muscle memory is having a hard time finding it :P)

Here's the 'vermin with the Litter =D I am in the process of building a place to put all our finished minis (converting an area to storage and putting up shelves) so most of the minis are just sitting out on the table atm. As an aside if someone had told me you have to dust these things, I would have started on the storage a lot sooner lol

Also took a break from:

To do some work on these:

Trukks3.jpg.a3eec3b455fb75a6b23109e3a9761d5f.jpg

We played our latest game Saturday (I lost, again) and I really wanted to have my trukks whole and painted, but they were bought off ebay so Saturday they were pretty much in pieces. I'd been working on cleaning them up since I got them, from some really horrid paint and superglue problems, and I finally had the impetus to do a little work on them, mostly assembling and basecoating the majority (Still some bits that need priming as I added them later, hence you can still see the original red paint - that is stuck on like crazy)

Liking the skaven litter you have done.  If I wasn't an ork at heart I would be a skaven for sure.

Gotta love the ork trukk, red ones go fasta!

Awesome litter!

As for storage,  plastic containers will save you from the dustbunnies!

Reptilians, Chaos and Undead are my poison.

Of course Chaos includes Skaven and Greenskins in my book ( Realm of Chaos )

I managed to put some of the stuff in plastic containers, but I really need to get more lol Especially taller ones, I think, for stuff like my son's Terrorgheist! Anyway, the room's coming along (it used to be a kitchen nook, but the boys' have outgrown the table as well as broken it anyway) - I need to make an Ikea run this weekend, they have a glass case I've been eyeing for only ~69$ US and it would hold a LOT of minis for display.

Back from Vacation =D My and my #2 son drove to Washington to visit my sister, and dad. Was a long trip but worth it. Really enjoyed ourselves, though as always, wish we'd had more money to visit stuff and so on. So much to see in the states, I'd forgotten. We managed to hit Multnomah falls, Lateroulle falls, Mt. Adams, Lacamas Lake, the Redwoods, Salt Lake and a few other places. Would have liked to also go spelunking as we went through areas with some fantastic caves but no time lol

Really missed my computer! and my forums, and my minis as well (took a small paint kit with me but didn't get much done, as the light just wasn't good and again, time) Anyway, to make this a little more on topic :P here's what was waiting for me on my return!! <3 Bones <3 (plus a few other stuffs)

(This is my first WIP post.  If I get something wrong, please let me know.)

I've never painted skin before.  (BattleMechs don't have skin.)  For some reason, I decided olive skin would be a good place to start and I'm starting to regret that.  Oh well, I started it, I might as well finish it, right?

This is where I am so far:
Basecoating is done. I have done shadows and highlights on her skin, robe, and yellow ribbons/accents. I know I missed some mold lines but learning to paint skin was the goal here.

So far, I believe I'm doing "okay" but I'd like some outside opinions (and constructive criticism), especially on the blending of the skin and fabric.  I know some of the yellow shadows/highlights need to be smoothed (and possibly redone).

I'm not completely sure what to do with the front of her belt or whatever that's supposed to be.  I'll see how it looks when I've added shadows and highlighting.

I'm happy with how her eyes turned out (first time doing those too) but her left eye always looks odd in the left shots.  I'm sure it's just an unfortunate angle but it reminds me of a muppet's eyes (or a Fendahline's).  I believe there's not much I can do about it.  (And, at this point, I don't want to touch her eyes.  It took an hour to paint her eyes and 77073 Freja Fangbreaker's eyes (future WIP, I hope).  Let's not open that can of worms again, shall we?)

Would it be helpful to anyone to know what paints I've used so far?

I'm going to be playing in a second D&D group starting in a couple of weeks so I decided to get started on painting up my new character.  I'm using darksword miniatures male warrior as my 2-handed vengeance paladin.  It's really the only two handed weapon sculpt I could find that I really liked.

I decided to just leave him on his base with how the sword is.  I had to assemble the hand with the sword as there were two options for weapons, the greatsword and a great axe.

Mold lines really weren't too bad.

I decided to go with a red cloak since he's going to be from the order of the gilded eye.  Their symbol looks to be a red background with a white gauntlet with an eye on the fist.  I don't think I'm going to add the symbol to the cloak.  Maybe if he had a shield I would give some freehand a try.

Most of the base base coating is completed and I got started on the eyes. The armor I base coated a dark grey as I plan to highlight up from there to make the armor white.  So the only areas the base coat should be showing is the shaded areas.  I might add or subtract some gold details on the armor as I progress.  Also the boots seem like they should be leather the more that I look at the details.

For the most part they don't look too bad.  I'm going to try and get the black outline a little thinner when I do the skin.  Also the left eye is a little larger than the right, but I don't think it looks too bad.  I'm undecided on touching it at this point because I don't want to really mess it up.

Reconstructed and redesigned in response to your input, Stronghold on the Borderlands has been reimagined as a MASSIVE digital, infinite fort design for 3dprinting. This Design will offer more than SIX TIMES the digital content for the SAME PRICE as our initial launch! Original resin options will also remain with many NEW add-on options.

Since many games have stalled waiting on one player, do the "regulars" have any interest in Rise of the Runelords?

I have read through 80% of it.
I'd be OK if you've played some of part I, but not read it.

If there is interest for 4 players, I'll put up character creation rules.
