Zombicide: Black Plague hero - Samson the dwarf

He turned out really well!

My only tip would be to base him.  That's a great paint job.

I agree with both of those statements!

Could we have pics from multiple angles though?

I disagree on the basing. He's a game piece and the picture shows him with an indicator ring.

I don't base my Zombicide minis, they're for playing. I do paint up the integral base a bit, but it wouldn't make sense to base it imo.

I'm still trying to decide.  I could do some blood smears like I did with some of the zombies I painted, but I'm trying to decide if I want to put some grass or gravel.  I'm considering using some of the hero add-ons as D&D characters when they eventually arrive, so they might end up based.

Wether to base or not is depending on the use of the mini.

I like nice bases, but when it interferes with gaming I get that.

Anyway, the mini itself is painted very well!

I agree.  Just saying.  It's a great looking mini for gaming, but I know a fancy, shedding base would probably get in the way...

Woo!  Wish this had come out before I'd already painted all my runners.

You are a natural. Clicking the photos for a better view shows just how SPLENDID your brushwork really is. VERY WELL DONE!

All told, I think I spent close to $300 on the game, the expansion, and a ton of add-ons.  I justified it to myself because the heroes in particular could serve dual purposes.  They will be in-game pieces, yet can double as D&D minis as well.  I was stunned to hear from a friend who was regretting that he didn't get in on the kickstarter that you can now order the core set from Amazon for $60!  The game comes with six heroes and 65 zombies.  Fun game with lots of minis if anyone is interested.

After painting the dragon for the Paint Your Dragon Contest, I needed a "palette cleanser" before starting on the Jedi children minis for my grandkids' Christmas ornaments. They are even tinier than the dwarf so it was good for me to practice on a little mini again. Her eyes, especially her right one gave me fits. Other than that eye, I am pretty happy with her and she is just for play anyway.

I tried to really push my highlights on her. I think I am usually too conservative. This time, I may have overdone it but I like her and she was for practice so she'll stay this way most likely. I did a wash on her hair but it really knocked the highlights down so I re=highlighted.

Also, I realize once I saw the photos, she has a tiny bit of flock stuck to the front of her. I have tweezed that off but did not retake the photos as it didn't make that big of difference.

      Any C&C is appreciated.

Yet another Wolsung mini, this time it's the Dwarf Gardener, he's fully equipped to deal with any young'uns that stray on to his lawn.

Had a lot of fun painting this one, he's just so unusual!

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

The dwarf is the 5th figure that I have painted from the old Grenadier 2007 set.  It was so hideous that I never posted it, partially because I didn't really like the figure and just slapped some paint on it to call it done.  I mean, those eyes were just sculpted circles.  I filled the center with color, edge highlighted the raised outer edge, and then went around them with a shadow color.  If you are an aspiring sculptor... never ever sculpt eyes like it is 1980.  But I was talked into posting it, so blame 72moonglum and Volksfest for the horror.

For scale, here is the dwarf between and Infinity Nomad and a Reaper bugbear.  Knee-capping is her only option.
