Recommended Posts

SO, now with some of the inhabitants done, the Twisted Tower, & Village calling for some paint, AND a good idea how I want the Garden, it's time to get to it.
I started the Flowers last night;

...thus far today, I've finished the faces. I'll be puttering with the leaves & a couple of other things. Hopefully there will be more photos tonight.

Such unhappy looking flowers...  :ik_oops:  Their faces have [an] almost pumpkin like quality.

They need a species/variety name, idk: gourd-faced petunias, grumpy gardenias, or pumpkin visaged sunflowers...

Pretty sure Dorothy never would have made it to the Emerald City if the field had been full of those flowers, lol...

Malefacti, Malfacti* will tear them apart!!!!!

*Well I couldn't say poppies now, could I?

Thanks for all the replies, Guys!

Funny thing is most of the Flowers look pretty merry in their own disreputable way. The bottom one on the right has a perfectly silly smile of the kind normally associated wit idiocy.

Some of those flowers look angry.....

Perhaps Faerie Borden had best beware...

The have her out numbered.

Pretty sure Dorothy never would have made it to the Emerald City if the field had been full of those flowers, lol...

...there might not even be an Emerald City.

,,,or we could wholesale them to the Hare Krishnas.

Have I mentioned how much I love the whimsy of your creations?  I have?  I'm mentioning it again, because those flowers are excellent!

Thanks for the repetition, BLZeebub! There are some things I never tire of hearing; I'm delighted you feel that way.

That's so awesome!

These flowers are full of personality, love the different moods these faces have.

Here is a thought, how about an undead version? One where the face is a skull and the leaves are grey and full of holes and teared up?

Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings! :)  Love your flowers, such great character!

Thanks, cat. I'll try not to let you down. I'm sure there will be something up by tonight. Right now it's staring off in to space & moaning quietly time.

Thank for the reply, Xherman. I'm glad you like them.

I hadn't thought about a living impaired flower...some of the my faces with dark circles under their eyes look zombie/ghoul-like. A Vampire or Ghost Flower might be cool; I have a drawer full of skulls of various sizes that I had planned to make into some sort of Halloween style terrain. The Horror Flowers would suit that just fine.

I started a D&D campaign for my son and some of his friends, and using it as an excuse to acquire and paint some new minis. Here is my son's Tiefling sorcerer (sorceress?)The plan: We don't really like the "combat bikini" on this one, so I am going to attempt to add, well something to it. It won't be great, probably wont even look good, but hey I'm only trying to get better, so please comment, critique, advise, instruct, and what not.
Going with a light purple skin because its for a Tiefling character, and I think purple is an interesting color to paint. Turquoise colored garments as a complimentary color, and some yellow gold metal for some contrast.

And some color after the nip tuck. I went with blue for a base cause I'm guessing it will work better with the purple skin.
We decided to chop the staff and try for a glass orb for the arcane focus. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Finally to end the night with some Green stuff. I started with a "sheet" of it for the Front and Back panels. I'm going to try to add some detail tomorrow after this dries.
Overall I don't think the cloth is laying quite right, or the size is off. Either way I hope I can fix it in the next session.

The clay golem. So overmuscled! So cantankerous-looking! So versatile for conversions!

It's probably cliche at this point, thinking this guy would make a great Edward Hyde. But that doesn't make it wrong! Some green stuff tatters, a grommet, and a pin, and here we are. Look at that savage hairy-knuckled brute!

For my Western game, set in the 1870s-ish, I made a spinoff cleric-like class, the Sawbones, for healers that prefer Mad Science to religion; people like Dr. Moreau, or Dr. Jekyll, or Dr. Frankenstein, or Dr. Herbert West. The 59009 lady scientist is the mini my Sawbones player uses for her character, and Hyde Formula is absolutely something she would concoct and abuse.

So here's the pair of them.

I am actually proud of the Hyde conversion!

Our Own Glitterwolf posted a photo in my Last Hurrah Thread:

I loved it. I knew I would have to make a version of my own (there were some liberties taken...a lot of liberties).
Once more I had the base all ready for her...or some other hapless miniature. AND here is the result:

      There you go.

This years Halloween Treat to myself was a Skeletal Plastic Mouse from World Market. I couldn't resist; re, it was Oh-So-Cool, whimsically cute, & inexpensive enough not to cause guilt tripping.
It was only when I got it home that the ears & nose registered as being singularly unskeleton like. SO I decided to Zombie it up with some patches of rotting flesh & hair. Here is the results:

This is The Mouse at an early stage of development with Leo Sizechek for an idea of just how big the Little Fellow is:

There you have it...so to speak.
