Mierce Miniatures - Mighty Monsters

Recommended Posts

Got my copy of the rules and its a beast. About 350 pages of nothing but rules. I kid you not, maybe 4 pages of setting info and no unit stats at all. Most of the space is going into very high detail of the rules and trying to cover every possible scenario that could come up so there's no arguments on how a rule could be interpreted.

Rob just added a couple new pledge levels.  Pretty sweet deals if you like what's been unlocked in this KS so far.

Looks like Banbreca will be Mighty Monsters 2 bound. Considering dropping my £10 pledge because I only really wanted him.

Rob admitted he already commissioned Banbreca and several others that wont be reached either so MM2 will happen sooner ten later so he can actually pay for the sculpts. Oops. Though he wont be far off, as this one will probably pull in £40k-£45k.

About 2 hours to go and it's at £39k. Pretty respectable really, and I do expect the next KS will start within a week or two. Plus, Rob said that pledges on the first one can also be applied to the second one. Really can't complain about his flexibility.

I've no objections to a followup,

but I do wonder if it will actually get anywhere as although there were a fair few asking for it will they have any extra cash to spend (or enough to actually dent the stretch goals), I know I don't or I'd have put it in first time round

I guess it depends on how many pulled all or part of their pledged in the last few days when they thought we wouldn't hit 50K, I didn't see any major dropouts or backslides but unless you're the creator or watching all the time it's hard to know

I would think the whales all went in for the Many pledges, so not sure how they'll fund a mini-kicker, since those pledges span both projects. If I had the spare cash I would've snagged a Many pledge, for sure.

So Rob is going to have to come up with some kind of compelling deal for them. The big monster KSs are tough because there's not really much room for casual backers.

Got mine yesterday (whoops I must have screwed up and ordered a second). It is a visual feast. Haven't looked at the mechanics...who am I kidding, I'll never actually play the game anyways.

Yeah, it's nice and I like that they put in tiered rule complexity. Pretty dense stuff. Not sure I'll ever have a chance to play, either, but it is nice to have it on the shelf given the vast amount of the models I have for it...

That's why he changed it at the last day to be spend 250\400 and get 50\100 extra to spend on just the items unlocked in that KSer (so not bonus money back) as there really wasn't enough big things to make it worth while. The useal high rollers don't want another KSer till the normally planned July one (Jan, April, July, October are the normal start dates for Mierce KSers) but at the same time this only need to raise 10k or so to pay for what Rob already commissioned though if it does well he'll delay or not run the July KSer.

I hope Rob takes into consideration what I and a few others said about always having metal starters available in every KSer going forward so people that are new can buy into the game since he basically just sells via KSer (he tried to do a pledge drive on the Mierce website last year but no one really backed).

Was hoping Rob would get back to me on how to add my metal Jute starter before he left for home. Have to wait now to place my order. Also asked to get SH 2 unlocked as it looks like the hippo warrior will ship in June and I want to pick him up.

I did not see this posted anywhere so I thought I'd share. KAMB is an easy to learn, fast paced RPG where you play a Kobold. You die, a lot. They're celebrating their 20th anniversary and are running a kickstarter to re-release the original zine that started it all, but with better rules. I play this every year at Origins in a 100 player game called the Kobold Midnight Massacre and can confirm that it's a great time of silly hijinks and horrible death checks

I haven’t backed any of Bears Heads kickstarters yet, but I’ve been tempted by everyone.
This is the one that I give in to.
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/98300108/narthoks-the-excellent
But hurry! It’s funded with ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT!

As nice as that sculpt is, it’s the sci-fi and bartender versions I’m most excited about. The stretch goals for those have been reached, but only concept drawings are available to show.

I think these are great unique looking eye beasts.
@TheAuldGrump maybe something you could use for your campaign?

Didn't see a post about this yet:

BattleFX is a bundle comprising of several 3D designs of dynamic effects and destructible terrain for wargames. ready for you to print.
Every item of the bundle has been carefully designed and tested to be 3D printed. this kickstarter includes a STL pack of each pledge, ready to be printed using your own 3D printer - or alternatively, using online 3D printing services.
After working extensively on the movie FX sector, we realized we could apply that experience to our wargamme hobby - and taking things to the next level.
We have been working very hard and have already finished designing and testing every one of the items on our basic pledge, therefore guaranteeing that YOU will get it. However, we want to continue creating and offering you new, epic effects for your wargames - hence the advance stretchgoals!
