Massive Darkness

Recommended Posts

I was saying I wanted a new but simpler dungeon crawl as a back up for RPG nights, and they announced this and the new Warhammer Quest nearly back to back.  Sigh.

It does look good, and the designs are a bit different than I'm used to.  Duergar as the main baddies?  Good times...

Yeah tiles like this limit the dungeon crawl experience was hoping for smaller tiles like Dungeon Saga/WHQ, still keeping my interest though.

Very Black Plague-like.

The initial release stated that it would be a modified version of the Z:BP rules. I would assume the core functionality is the same but possibly expanded upon for more options.

I am looking forward to this... Haven't been excited about any kickstarters recently so I am really looking forward to this. I hope they have minion packs for sale to be able to get more... Like 9 evil baby ogres come with the set, but you can but 10 more as a set for $20... I love having extra bad guys on hand.

Or even do like Rum and bones and have a team of bad guys as stretch goals. Like a set of 5 werewolves... with special rules... Or a set of 10 brigands.  A leader, 2 Crossbowmen, 2 swordsmen and 5 spearmen...

I also hope they have a bestiary that includes monsters that they don't reach or plan to publish... Then I can use other minis like reaper bones for gnolls, bugbears, rats, giants, etc...

I don't care for the concept art, but the minis look good:

Is that Krampus??

I may have to look into this one. One of the biggest appeals for me & having played the Dude at RCon one year is the celebrities that only came out during the KS or Z. It just wouldn't be the same with the regular folk.

I am also excited to hear/see more on the mechanics.  I am still impressed with the mechanics every time I play Zombicide.  I can't wait to see what they do here.
