CAV SO Bones: Rach Force completed (Reaper, Voodoo & more)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I finally decided to sit down and complete the last models I have from the KS for my Rach Force in my NOD-like colour scheme.

So I completed, 3 more Krakens, 2 more Dictators, 1 Voodoo and 1 Reaper.

I only post detailed pics of the new models:

Reaper:

And the final group shot of my Force:

Lovely work. What's next?

For now, I'm taking a little break to enjoy the outdoors and my other hobby (RC Rock Crawling).

But my next CAV project is to complete the Ritterlich models from the Kickstarter (fewer models and some were already painted last year for the Early Bird delivery).

Hopefully I may have some stuff to post here in the near future.

I love the nod to... uh, Nod.    I haven't sorted out a paint scheme for my forces yet, but good ol' Command & Conquer is brilliant!

The "Tiberium green" glow is a great touch, and I think it gives them a bit more of an "alien" feel.  Well done!

Hi everyone, i'd like to share the photos of my Cadirith, from Bones II.

So, I chose my first Bones 4 mini to paint. To be precise, Mr. Mouse chose her, but that's neither here nor there.

I think I'm done with her face. I struggled with the eyes for a while before I noticed that the dark elves in Izzy's art have glowy eyes. Thus, she gained a simple bright eye color.

Ok I decided to blend a little more.

Finished this miniature today for my Wrath of the Righteous campaign. Part of a LOT of demons. He has more slime on his base then the picture brings out, but he was fun to paint and actually sorta quick due to some airbrush work.

This thread is shamelessly ripping off a wonderful idea from our goblin friend @buglips*the*goblin from this thread way back around Bones KS1 days.

The intent of this thread is to have lots of people post WIP shots of their Bones Sophie paint jobs. Here are the minis to pick from (SKUs to be updated here soon):

From Left to Right: KS2 Trollslayer Sophie 77370, KS3 Sophie the Sage 77491, KS4 Innkeeper Sophie, KS4 Small World Sophie, Sir Forscale
(Note that Sir Forscale is just that, for scale. He is not part of this for WIP purposes.)

There is no time limit or set starting date. If you come across this thread long after I have posted it and want to join, feel free.

      Quick ground rules:
      1. Only Bones Sophie is allowed. There are four of them (unless I somehow missed one).

      2. Try to limit yourself to a few posts a day, though. No reason to flood this thread too much. (Unless this doesn't pick up interest and it is just me, lol).

      3. Watch the side conversations. Ideally this is primarily WIP pics and some direct conversation to help encourage or guide the painters.

      4. If this picks up lots of interest, we will use one Show Off thread as to not overwhelm that thread too badly.

      5. Play nice. This is meant to encourage people to paint. I am hoping we get painters of all levels of ability. Encourage people to join in. The more the merrier.

Feel free to PM me with questions or concerns. I will try to update this thread with any clarifications or whatnot.

Alright, now let's get this party started!

With my Cadian army nearly finished and my wife's army at a playable state I decided to take a break from 40k painting. Since I've been painting for our actual armies for so long I decided to start a new WIP thread rather than use my old random projects thread (the "Too Many Projects" thread will be replaced by this one).

But before getting too far ahead I'd like to show everyone just how bad my box got while painting for 40k and killteam. This of course doesn't include any GW boxes I may or may not have on hand to paint "just for fun". I swear I'll paint those Skaven sooner or later.

Though some of the figures were closer to completion, I simply couldn't resist painting one I've had my eye on for months (I mean this quite literally as the figure sat on my lamp's base since I first got it and probably ended up in the background of many of my progress shots). When I first pulled this from a box of goodwill I knew exactly what I wanted to do. This figure just screamed Don Quixote, at least to me it did. So that's exactly how I painted it and though it may just be a simple paint job I'm already thinking about creating a new character just to use it.
