You wanted him BIGGER???

Well...yes.  ::P:

I wanted him to fall more in line with the height of the other big Bones demons and the proportions of arm length vs leg length were bothering me.  Also, this is my favorite of the Bones demons and I wanted him to be more impressive.  Don't get me wrong, I think the miniature is just fine as made but I just wanted more presence when he hits the table.  Also, this makes him a better size for use as a greater daemon in 40K if I feel inclined to use him for that.

Cool biggerized conversion!

I think the idea of lengthening the mace is a good one.

Please continue to resist the Hellboy hand idea, though.

The question with the mace is just make it long enough to be two handed or go full polearm length.  Probably going with two handed, so say three times longer than it is given that currently it's pretty short.

Went longer than I intended but may keep it this length anyway.  Need to decide what to do at bottom, might sharpen it to a spike.

Material used:  carbon fiber tube with an aluminum rod inside it.

Ok, found a spike for the bottom.  Now just have to let it sit for a day or two to decide if I like the length or if I break out the hacksaw and take half an inch or so out of the length.

I would leave the length... it looks like it fits him and gives him that extra reach to thump his minions when he needs to!

I would cut some off, mainly to make the weapon more usable. If it is more like a staff, then it works, but if it is supposed to be a mace I would shorten it, so that the demon can swing it properly.

That said, this is an inspired conversion and I really like what you did with the legs. Adding wings and a tail is an excellent idea and I think making the horns more impressive would add even more awesomeness to the miniature.

Ermagerd!  He did some work on it!  Ok, so not much.  I did find some 80mm 'deep dish' bases so I glued him into that and am slowly building on it with greenstuff.  Also ripped the spike off the mace and am contemplating what to use as a but cap instead.  Probably find a bead.  Pics aren't best quality but I couldn't be bothered to dig out everything for a pretty minor update.

I started this conversion a loooong time ago for a friend who needed a dorf with an axe, and I did not at the time have a dorf with an axe. I was never quite happy with it, and the game died quickly. I forgot all about this little guy until recently, and I decided to finish him, and queue him up for the paints. I initially started with a clay weapon sculpt, but while I was fiddling with it it broke. In a fit of rage I cut a piece of aluminum stock and after a few hours of shaping we got here. I did a bit more shaping after this photo, and I plan on doing a bit of Apoxie Sculpt to blend in where the old weapon was cut away. For the surgery I used a #11 Scalpel. All the shaping was done with a #8 Double Cut Mill Bastard and diamond files.

Converted Gregor the Wizard, who is a druid type character, well wrapped up with a bird as a familiar. I thought the model would look good as a female character and the way the coat bunches up means that a conversion looks OK, in my view. I just cut off the head with a razor saw and swapped it with a reaper bones head for Drys the Dryad. I just stuck it straight onto a blob of green stuff. I didn't need to do much texturing because the beard on the original male model just looks like a scarf following the sawing.

The mittened hand holding the bird just got accidentally bent back while I was sawing the head off (is this forum externally monitored?). It wasn't an intentional part of converting.

Then a pretty simple paint job, have done the washes in these pics and need to do some basic highlighting and a winter effect on the base.

So I've been at grandma's after new year's eve and found a bunch of these metal kinder surprise toys. Scale-vise they are around 28mm heroic, so I've decided to give them a quick speedpaint, using some dollar-store acrylic paint and brushes :D, I wonder if they will look any good on the table during play :)

      Next to a bones orc

Pulled from some Iron Winds Metal random bins at a con, it's a combination of a Ral Partha Nightmare and the wings of a Blue Dragon. Enjoy!

For the converters, a demonstration of making an extremely sharp knife (for use by a lego person) from an oyster shell. This guy makes knives out of everything, including tomatoes. Yes, tomatoes. This one just happens to be minis-sized.
