ISO Sea Serpent/Dragon

9 posts in this topic

Hello all,

Been away for a bit, but dipping my toe back in. I was wondering if there were any good aquatic dragon/serpent sculpts out there? Something not necessarily boxed set big, but goodly sized?

Both Ral Partha and Grenadier did some decent sea dragons, which would be on the slightly smaller side for a dragon these days...

Dark Sword has a sea dragon.

Safari LTD has a plastic toy sea dragon that's got some good detail on it if you like the style and don't mind a repaint. It's fairly large, though - just going from rough memory of the last time I eyeballed it at the store, it's probably about six and a half inches long.

I have painted the Ral Partha sea serpent and it came out pretty good. The Grenadier figure is a better fit for a sea serpent though.

Fantasy Flight games has a smaller serpent that they produced for Descent. I'm on my way to a con right now, but I could take a pic at some point tomorrow.

Clan Wars had a Water Dragon  you can find it on Evilbay often.

Grenadier and Ral Partha are mentioned.

Also Fenryll has a resin Coral Dragon, this one is actually swimming underwater.

Dark Sword has a little Sea Dragon

Mcfarlane ( Toys) has a Sea Serpent ( Dragon).

I think the Safari one knarthex posted would suit the encounter nicely. It's pre-painted, but still looks pretty sweet and the price is right!
