As necromancy is the ultimate form of recycling...

The weather for the Con has highs in the 80s(27-30c) and lows around 60 (mid to upper teens).

I remember that the hall got a little warm in the afternoons, too.  That may or may not bother some people. Wear layers.

What's the deal with costumes? Might be fun to dress up but we're kind of there to just paint, right? :P

ReaperCon has many-layered fan activity.

Costumes are certainly not required, but many people enjoy wearing them.

Avoid weapons, functional or otherwise, firearms, and I personally think chainsaws are just more trouble than they're worth...

Aye but everyone knows chainsaws are the best tool for sculpting greenstuff.

Obviously, but you really want a Lithium battery powered one for Reapercon* rather than the gas powered kind. Those leak too much oil and people might slip and fall.

* If you get thrown out of the con because you brought a chainsaw, I will laugh and laugh.

if you wear a costume, or an item of Reaper clothing, you will get extra reaper bucks for the sunday auction...

At least that was how it worked last year....

(Once per day only, no changing shirts etc, no wearing a reaper hat with the costume to double up.... Right @Reaperbryan?:poke:)

The section on ReaperBucks explains it pretty well, I think.  It is just below the section about the Auction.

Yah that part you forget to separate when buying ribbons ::):

Texas weather is perfect for the Con, especially compared to here right now. Changing of the seasons, that's for sure.

So the site says "themed costume" but I didn't see a theme for this year anywhere... or is it the Factions/Dreadmere? Could we wear just any type of fantasy inspired costume?

The Faction page says "30 points each day you wear a costume," and on the Reaperbucks page it says "each day you wear a qualifying... costume to receive these ReaperBucks. No repeat gains." If I wear the same costume every day, can I get 30 Faction Points & 100 Reaperbucks? Or can I only get the 100 Reaperbucks once? It says "each day" but it also says "no repeat gains."

Horror is the theme.

I think it's so you can't wear three costumes in one day and get credit three times.

each day you come to the Reg Desk in costume you get the daily reward.

What you cannot do is come in costume on Thursday (as an example), change to a different costume , still on Thursday, and get the Daily reward again. Collect the rewards once per day.

My daughter is insisting on dressing up Sat.  She asked for the theme and I told her I was pretty sure it was horror again but I doubt her mommy will want to mess with her Frankie Stein costume so I told her to not worry about a costume.  Instead she wants to do the same cheetah costume she wore last year. :)  "They can be kind of scary."
