.."whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouse, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos gets such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off - then I account it high time"...to make some more Mushrooms....Ismail & I approach the problem differently
A few days ago, the symptoms began to appear. Now I that the end in is in sight, I'll post what I have been up to.
These Fellow already had their blanks made. SO it was just a matter of adding beads & green stuffing :
...that wasn't enough to snap the black mood; three larger ones were needed. First the Blanks:
...then the eyes (beads), & arms...somewhat more eye & arms then usual:
...the marvels of Mushroom dentistry:
...Stage I Green Stuffing:
...with Leo "Legs-don't-fail-me-now" Sizechek for a size check:
...AND Stage II Green Stuffing, capping of the sculpts:
...once I figure how they will be used, they will be painted...stay tuned.
Take it easy on me, this is just my seventh mini to paint with three of them being a set of identical orcs. First time trying green stuff any tips for improvements or things you think I did well would be much appreciated. Trying to figure out what worked and what didn't.
This is Archon the Aasimar Warlock and his familiar (which has yet to be named). He was taken as a youth by a fiend for his celestial blood. On the brink of corruption he was rescued by a paladin of the Raven Queen. The Raven Queen then took over his pact and he now serves her hunting those who would defy the natural process of death.
One of the Fellow from the Lead Adventure Forum gave me a link to Bog's Miniatures on FaceBook. Their ambulatory Mushrooms were so like my stationary ones that I had to give them a try.
This is the result:
Emerging from the depths of Heep's Caverns, The Meandering Mushroom Mob:
...Than Gang with a shot of the setting at Heep's:
...they may not see any games, but the boards are splendid puppet stages for photos.
The Fellow seen exercising the better part of valor is a plastic miniature that is part of G.W's plastic Giant boxed kit. He is my surrogate for Sir Forscale.
From the bottom of his shoes to the top of his hat, he is 32 mm. I feel he shows the proper appreciation of the situation my World offers.
To those who haven't seen these in the Work In Progress Section: I will readily admit to a somewhat bizarre imagination aka NUTS. SO making Goblin Faeries seemed like a fine idea. Reaper does make these lovely fairy wings; I do have abundance of out of production, but oh-so-merry G.W. multi-part, plastic Night Goblin parts; AND way to much time to spend following my imagination to strange places.
The individual photos are taken on my work table with some group pictures taken in The Witches' Shanty Town Board.
The Fling Circus, one by one:
Smiling Jack Himself:
...The Mushroom insisted on his own photo...you know how these Mushrooms can be:
...AND The Faerie Folk:
NOTE: There are some artsy in The Shanty Town Photos further down below Froggy's & X's kind replies.
SO I had these two twigs mounted & primed for ages...well awhile at any rate. Since I did up a Tree with Attitude for a Fellow D.M. Craft Forumite, I thought I'd give the twigs the treatment:
Seen here on my Work Table, a once around The Trees:
...now to the closeups:
...the Hermit (Dark Hold Minion), all 10 mm of him:
...AND a couple of photos by the Witches' Shanty Town:
The Twins will probably be used as foreground pieces in a Spooky Woodland photo background thingy I'm planning. Hopefully, you'll be seeing more of the Lads/Whatever.
