5th Annual Reaper Forums Large Model Challenge, Rules and Discussion

Recommended Posts

Please read the rules folks.  I've just sent a bunch of emails because multiple entries are in the same post, or there are too many images, or a figure has been entered into multiple single figure categories.

Is the Battleguard Golem valid for this? Head to toe, I measure him at 39mm, though the base adds another couple millimeters, and if his upraised sword counts, he's easily over 40mm.

I would consider that a "human sized" figure and not eligible.  I started the large figure challenge to get people into painting the really big figures, the dragons, giants, demons and Cthulhu. Too often people are afraid to tackle the big models and we never see them painted.

One of the judges this year might rule differently, but in the spirit of the challenge I think you should select a much larger figure to enter.

That's fair, and hence why I asked. Oddly enough, I'm actually more comfortable with the bigger stuff, and have only recently started painting things as small as most of these minis. (Most of my experience is with large mechs and starships.) How about CAVs?

Sorry.. I'm still dealing with the aftermath of my team lead at work getting hurt in a horse riding accident and me picking up all her work and running a convention this past weekend.. I'm hoping to have time to get things moving by the weekend.  I'd normally do all my boarding at work, but there hasn't been time..

No need to apologize! Life happens! I was just checking in. Thanks for the reply and hopefully life will get back to "normal" for you soon!
