Mantic Terrain Crate

Recommended Posts

Mine arrived last on Saturday, and it all appears to be there; dungeon crate, battlefield crate, town crate, extra walls and extra abandoned mine stuff. Pretty pleased with it so far.

Here is the town crate contents: https://wargamesandrailroads.blogspot.com/2018/07/kickstarter-loot-mantic-terrain-crate.html

Did anyone get the Treasury? I'm interested to know if the coins in their piles are as oversized as they look in the previews, or if, like the rats and skulls, their proportions are overblown in the images...

Scale wise - they would be pretty big, about two inches across, at a guesstimate.

But they are not saucer sized, which had been my worry.

The gold plastic does not look much like gold - but I had been planning on priming and painting anyway, so not a problem.

  • A few pieces defied the trend. The orrery, cart, throne runner rug, candlesticks and braziers, ladders, and weapon racks were flexible (and warped). My cart wasn't too bad - mostly the hitch. Why, I don't know. It's not the color of the plastic or the size of the piece, though really spindly pieces almost all suffer. Mold requirements would be my guess.
  • Some of the stiff plastic was also warped, e.g. the round tables in the Tavern. I'm hoping they'll be better with hot water, but less hopeful than with the softer stuff.

Almost certainly - removed from the mold while still hot and pliable, and allowed to cool after being warped when wiggled free.

Megan painted the round table - it was somewhat warped when we got it - but it is fine now, after a hot water/cold water bath.

Hot water does indeed work on this stiffer material - but leave it in longer.

Good to know on the coin size. I'm thinking about ordering a Treasury or maybe just the King's Coffers x2. I'm uncertain about my need for treasure hoards; like the dragons they're most often associated with, they're not an everyday use thing.

Also thanks for the info in the plastic hot water fix. Makes future concerns much less. For the most part my DF DoD is taking painting priority right now...

So some of the spray primers are tacky... good to know.

Anyone tried applying paint without primer?

I think someone posted above. It's a PVC blend, and they're all pretty much the same. Wash them with warm (not hot) dishsoapy water, scrub with a toothbrush, rinse and let dry. Then you can paint directly on them, or use a brush-on primer, or use Reaper Inks, or...

Never received a shipping notice but the latest update says they've mailed everything now. Here's hoping I'll get it soon.

Mine arrived yesterday. I got all 4 crates plus a set of Dungeon Saga doors. I haven’t gone through it all yet, but on my quick look I’m pretty happy with what I got.

      About this project

A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game is a competitive miniatures game for two or more players. Each player controls one of the Great Houses of Westeros, commanding battlefield units, recruiting legendary Heroes, and manipulating the political stage, in the attempt to claim the greatest prize of all: The Iron Throne. Featuring House Stark and House Lannister, the Starter Set comes with over one hundred amazing, preassembled miniatures that are ready to play out of the box! All-new sculpts are based off original art created for the game by our crew under the direct supervision of George R.R. Martin and Dark Sword Miniatures, to ensure that the game delivers what fans have been envisioning for years.
The Stark vs Lannister Starter Set is a perfect introduction to a new miniatures game. With accessible and streamlined gameplay designed by Eric M. Lang and Michael Shinall, A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game features 5 different Game Modes, Army Building and Customization options, and choices of Commanders and Attachments. This Set packs a lot of gameplay for 2 players!

The loyal followers of the Direwolf Banner rally to defend the North! Miniatures come unpainted. Just before starting a game, players must build their armies, based on an agreed upon amount of points. Using these points, players forge the core of their army with powerful  Combat Units, such as the Stark Sworn Swords or Lannister Guards into their army. Each of these units has its own strengths and weaknesses.

This Kickstarter campaign is a collaboration between legendary game designer Jennell Jaquays and sculptor Darcy Perry, following the appearance of ducks in the previous Star Hat Miniatures Kickstarter: Delvers Lost in the Dungeons of Doom III.
This is also an opportunity for YOU to contribute! With the Legendary Hero pledge, YOU can collaborate with us to bring new characters to the Quack Keep module and gaming table.
      The Module
This Kickstarter will provide funds for Quack Keep - inspired by classic game adventure modules of the past but written to be more approachable for a new generation of role-players and workable with a wide range of game rules thanks to the 5th Wall Generic Rank System. It even comes with a fold-out GM screen as a cover!

The title is a nod to Quag Keep, the first novel based on a roleplaying game, published by Andre Norton in 1978 - around the same time that Jennell Jaquays began producing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and Runequest modules for Judges Guild. The Caverns of Thracia and Dark Tower are both best-selling examples of her early work, both still in print after almost 40 years.
The later inspired Legendary Duck Tower and other Tales, which included a ducky-pastiche of her original Dark Tower cover. It was due to this and her work for Chaosium that Jennell Jaquays "was pretty much labeled as that designer and artist who did the ducks."

      Eldritch SwanSong.

The Grey Moulter.  Join us for an adventure with Ducks Lost in the Dungeons of Doom IV: Quack Keep!
Legendary Duck! YOU be the HERO! Stretch Goals
There is a Stretch Goal unleashed for every 1k funding goal reached and each one is a game changer: a new Duck will appear! Either a new Duck Hero or Legendary Duck will be made available for you to choose as part of your pledge.
      1k Stretch Goal Unleashed: Oduck!
2k Stretch Goal Unleashed: The Quack Knight!

Glen Fidduck is almost a must-have for me ;)

      About this project
Samples of painted resins supplied by Studio Giraldez. Resin masterclass models supplied unpainted Strap in and blast off! The Starfinder Roleplaying Game puts you in the role of a bold science-fantasy explorer, investigating the mysteries of a weird and magical universe as part of a starship crew. Will you delve for lost artifacts in the ruins of alien temples? Don rune-enhanced armor and a laser rifle to battle undead empires in fleets of bone ships, or defend colonists from a swarm of ravenous monsters? Maybe you'll hack into the mainframe of a god-run corporation, or search the stars for clues to the secret history of the universe or find brand new planets to explore. Whether you're making first contact with new cultures on uncharted worlds or fighting to survive in the neon-lit back alleys of Absalom Station, you and your team will need all your wits, combat skill, and magic to make it through. But most of all, you'll need each other.
ADVENTURE: The Starfinder Adventure Pledge level is a great entry point for the start of your collection of Masterclass figures. This pledge includes 8 Kickstarter exclusives, including Candy cosplaying as Navasi and Cola cosplaying as Quig, along with heroes from the Pathfinder RPG Legacy Races. Also included is a gang of Space Goblin Zaperators. Customize your pledge with the added 6 Hero Slots and 4 Encounter Pack Slots. Also all unlocked Freebies!
CAMPAIGN: The Starfinder Campaign Pledge level is the perfect pledge for the miniature enthusiast. This pledge includes 8 Kickstarter exclusives, including Candy cosplaying as Navasi and Cola cosplaying as Quig, along with heroes from the Pathfinder RPG Legacy Races. Also included is a gang of Space Goblin Zaperators. Customize your pledge with the added 12 Hero Slots, 6 Encounter Pack Slots, 2 Fleet Pack Slots, and 4 Creature Slots. Also all unlocked Freebies!
Stretch Goals are items that unlock as the campaign reaches new heights. More options for heroes, encounter packs, creatures, and fleets will be revealed over time. There are three types of goals: Freebies, Optionals, and Social Media Stretch Goals.
Freebies will be added to the Adventure Pledge and Campaign Pledge as soon as they unlock. Optionals will provide additional options to use on those Hero, Encounter Pack, Creature, and Fleet Slots. Social Media unlocks depend on the number of shares the following post receives on Paizo and Ninja Division’s Facebook pages.
How the Starfinder Masterclass Miniatures Slot System Works
To offer the most customizable pledge rewards possible we have developed the Kickstarter Slot System. There are 4 kinds of Slots: Hero, Encounter Pack, Creature, and Fleet. The Adventure and Campaign pledges come not only with specific models but several types of Slots to customize the pledge. Every item option has a Slot type and cost. Additional Slots beyond those in the Adventure and Campaign Pledge can be purchased for the cost listed in the Additional Slots section. As the campaign progresses and more stretch goals are unlocked the type of Slot and cost of each unlocked model will be listed in the appropriate section.
Freebie Stretch goals add one free model or upgrade to the pledge. Additional models of that unlocked Freebie may be purchased as listed in the appropriate section.
HEROES: Each Hero represents an individual pulled from the varied Starfinder races, character classes, and themes. These heroes double as playable characters and non-player characters, providing numerous options for players and gamemasters alike!
ENCOUNTER PACK: Encounter Packs include a mix of creatures and hero-like characters that the heroes may encounter in their adventures. Each pack is designed to supply figures for a standard encounter. More ambitious adventurers may encounter larger groups so it never hurts to get multiples of each encounter pack!
