Beautiful work Pochi, I like everything you did here, the paint, the base, the realistic water effect, everything looks amazing.

So pretty! All of those flowers! This really is a beautiful piece. It looks like you had much better luck with your resin than I did when I did my exchange with resin. It was a MESS! And yes, the new board has thrown me off as well! I haven't been on here in months, so I'm a little lost! :upside:

Well, I have tried using water effects before and it did not go well. I talked to Meg to find out what kind of tape to use and she told me to get the jewelers' resin and what kind of tape, etc. Then I followed the tutorial I linked and after much frustration, it turned out pretty good. The first time I tried using water effects (not this project), it seeped out under the tape I used and made a huge mess! I did use the real water effects on this as a gloss coat. I would still use the water effect stuff for puddles and things like that but anything where you can see the sides like this I wouldn't hesitate to use the resin again. It is super scary though because you have to paint everything first and then hope the resin doesn't mess up and ruin everything!

Welcome back to the forums!

I really love the vibrancy of the pinks.  I love very colourful mini's and this looks so nice with the pink and white over the black!

Painted up this lovely lady this week. She was a lot of fun and not as difficult as I thought she'd be, though she has plenty of detail. Base is Basius.

Got this mini when it was released sometime last year I believe. Finally decided to paint her up. Nothing super special, thanks for reading!

This is O-Sayumi, a geisha bard who appears on the cover of Pathfinder Adventure Path #53, in the Jade Regent storyline.
Cover art here, by Wayne Reynolds: link.

I finished sculpting the figure in January 2015, but I had taken two long breaks along the way -- started in late 2013, stopped, did a little work in April 2014, stopped again, and resumed in late December 2014.
I didn't intend to take so long to paint her.
I did almost all of the painting in 5 sessions in December 2015 and January 2016, and I sculpted a simple flat base to look like Japanese tatami mats, but then I stalled out with indecision about adding props or furniture -- the character plays a samisen in the book, for example, but there isn't one included with the figure.  I also got sidetracked with a busy few months at work, during which I didn't paint or sculpt anything.  At last, I picked up a brush again last week and finished her.  I left the base simple, as you can see.

      Here she is:

      Enjoy,
      Derek
