About this project

 Hello all,

You are looking for a female leader for your orc army, or just a cool miniature to paint ?

Well, this is my first kickstarter, so don't be afraid if the layout is pretty basic, you will not find supershinywords or coolfantasybackground, it's not my style... What you see is what you get !

Few words about me. Miniatures sculptor for nearly 20 years, I've worked for a lot of famous companies like Rackham, PrivateerPress, Mierce, and many others...  Today I want to create my own range, to explore my favorite themes in fantasy.

All the minis are cast in resin by a skilled craftsman, here in France, no Chinese plastic here.

This project totally eludes me. I do not get how on earth someone as skilled as Benoit Cosse would do a project like this. I love the theme, it's fun. The cave-men take on it.  But I dont really get the idea behind it. I understand why someone would want to sculpt "ugly" in contrast to the oversexualized that goes on in the hobby, but even here the rude girls are oversexualized, half-naked, with boobs out. But what I do not understand at all is why doesnt he sculpt the "ugly" in a good way?

This one looks to be sculpted by a 4-years old, and not by one of the great ones in the industry. Really wierd.

The only things I like are the Rhino and the Hyena and I wouldn't even use the riders.

I like some of the ideas, like the giant Rhino.

And to me it's okay that not all tribal women are covering their boobs.

But somehow, those faces just aren't doing it for me, not bc they're meant to be ugly, they just seem unfinished (maybe they are?)

I like a couple of the figures, but for the most part, I'm not too impressed...

The problem is that the 1 or 2 i like, I don't like as figures; I'm looking at 'em as a source of bits.

Good luck to the creator, but not for me.

Oh, boy.  Yet another army of women from an entirely unfemale perspective.

I wonder how much of it is the sculpts and how much is less than stellar photography.

Some of it isn't bad (I get very tired of 'pretty orcs'), and some of it is ... unflattering. I'mma keep an eye on it; there might be some useful stuff in.

To me, it appears like Benoit Cosse is aiming to achieve an effect that looks "poor". For example, look at the sculpt with the female holding the carcass/skeleton into the air. The skull and the ribcage look amateurish. The feathers of the vulture don't look at feathers at all. Look at all the fur details on the other sculpts. Also amateurish. If he is aiming to sculpt "ugly" figures, it would look a lot better if the details are at least sculpted decently.

I kind of like em... The yellowish sculpts look pretty bad, but the group shot with them in a white material looks good. I like the Rhino and the Hyena especially. The Troll looks good too.... but they are on the expensive side for what they are... I am keeping an eye on it.. but this really doesn't tempt me at this price point.

Yeah, think I'm safely going to be able to pass on this one.

The rhino looks wonderful, but the quality of that sculpt makes many of the other figures look even poorer by comparison. I also like the riders. At least what I can see of them. They're in contextually good poses and look to be well sculpted. Can't really see their faces though. As a stand alone piece it quite nice. History is littered with primitive cultures who never wore tops, so I don't have an issue with it. These look far more savage than cheesecake. Either way, it isn't my thing.

This is... an 'almost'.

If the sculpting were better, I would be happier, I think. Those sculpts... just are not that good. ::(:

The primitive/aboriginal style is interesting - and if there were some males to go with them... they could be useful. (Yeah, I know, nekkid male figures don't sell as well - but having the females in one style, and the males in another, makes it hard to build a theme.) I would rather see a full tribe.

Sending it along to Megan anyway, but I will be dodging this one.

      About
The Wrath of Cichol is the first episodic release for Creatures of the Night.
Creatures of the Night is a fantasy miniature range (and perhaps, in the future, a game) designed by Krakon Games. Each chapter explores a period from the Lebor Gabála Érenn (Book of Invasions) - an Irish histro-mythology exploring the various races to inhabit and invade ancient Eriu (Ireland).
Chapter 1: The Wrath of Cichol introduces both the Fomorian adversaries and one of the first invaders - Partholón.
By backing this project you will help fund the production of Krakon Games' first fantasy range and be "rewarded" with your chosen models.
All models will be cast in resin and supplied without bases. Most are multi-part models that require a little cleaning and assembly.
There are 8 large character models available at project launch, with a list of stretch goals that will unlock as funding levels increase. If there's something on the stretch goal list you would like, feel free to include it in your pledge total to help unlock it.

Your RPG adventures develop into a world like no other.  The places, the players, the trinkets and treasures that are discovered.
These vivid constructs exist in our imaginations in incredible detail - our aim is to bring each element of your RPG experience to life with an all new 3D modular dungeon!
Not just another STL file sale...
We're living in exciting times; 3D printing has emerged in a variety of industries for rapid prototyping and one-off on demand prints.
So far, 3D printing has proven extremely expensive for the average Joe given machinery, materials and equipment rental costs.  Frankly, printing a whole Dungeon is not practical or cost effective for the vast majority of RPG players.  That is, until now!
At RPG Factory, we do not sell virtual files which you'll need to print yourself - we've done all of the hard work for you!
We produce fully printed products so that you can assemble, paint and play in no time at all!

RPG Factory is built on talent and vision.  We have a huge amount of artistic, CAD and business experience which we're using to deliver a cost effective product which is durable, easy to assemble and practical for RPG gamers of all ages!
It's been 12 months in the making...
We've been developing our ideas for months, working out the kinks in our designs to make sure that our products strike a balance between looking good and functioning as gaming pieces.
We've taken the time to trial the modular system with gamers to make sure that it integrates properly with the most popular gaming systems.  Particularly ones which house fearsome giant lizards in giant concrete underworlds...
Finally, we've experimented with a number of different materials to ensure that the final product is extremely durable, captures detail and takes paint without discolouration or de-lamination.
Section of the Dungeon All of this effort and attention to detail has led us to our first Kickstarter, but we won't be stopping there!  The funding for this Kickstarter will be going straight back into the RPG Factory coffers so that we can expand on our range in the future (and boy do we have a lot of ideas for you!!)
So, if you want to immerse yourself in exciting new adventures, dive right in and Pledge today!
Crawl through the twisting corridors, facing terrible foes!

We have designed the dungeons to be as modular as possible, giving you a huge number of options!
A number of components within the Dungeon set can be used in different ways, further increasing versatility.
Our clip system allows your set to be assembled quickly, for testing layouts and re-engineering your network or corridors and rooms in minutes!
Our Dungeon components are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

      Miniature lights for all shapes
Grimlight are tiny magnet-controlled light circuits for miniature gaming, dungeon mastering, model trains, LARP:s and whatever else you can think of. Grimlight has the following features:
Magnetic control – switch on and off without touching the miniature Easy to hide – 0.2 mm wiring laid either inside or on the miniature  Switchable effects – fixed, pulsating or flickering chosen by magnet Convenient – easy to use and install  Small circuit – 21*2.4 mm fits in regular 28 mm miniature bases  Small led's – 0.6 mm fits in a drill hole  Battery operated – using a CR1216 clock battery  Long stand-by time – over a year  Flexible – 2 led's per circuit  Any colour – paint or cover the light thinly in any colour  SHIPPING INCLUDED, WORLDWIDE! How about that?

      Stretch goals
SEK 140,000: We add additional effect settings to each Grimlight SEK 150,000: Produce a guide for how to modify the software to change lighting effects. Publish all code under an open license. SEK 200,000: We add some fiber optic cables with every physical Grimlight reward, perfect for added variation. To be continued.... Rewards
To keep it simple there are only a few different reward tiers. For different amounts of Grimlights, just pledge in multiples of the chosen non-"early bird" tier. The regular one that we believe will be what most want is the 250 SEK tier simply called "five grimlights". For ease of handling and due to shipping cost it is only possible to get Grimlight in multiples of five. If you would like to get 15 for example, just pledge 750 SEK. The reward level "5 Grimlights with larger battery holder" are Grimlights that are modified to operate from three AAA batteries instead of from one CR1216. If you want to add lighting to something big and think it would be good with extended time (about 50 times the capacity) before needing to change batteries this is for you. If you have some special needs and ideas for the lighting you need there is also a tier where we can program custom effects for you (within the constraints of what is possible with the micro-controller we are using).

      ABOUT THE PROJECT
Aeon Trespass: Nymphs is a beautiful series of pin-up style miniatures inspired by Greek mythology and the Science Fantasy genre. Each Nymph is a highly detailed resin miniature in the 32mm scale – perfect for painters, collectors and wargamers alike – and comes with a scenic base, an art print and a hand-numbered authenticity note, everything enclosed in hand-stamped craft box. This Kickstarter is a limited collector’s run, which means the miniatures may not be available outside the campaign or, if they are available, they will be released as an unnumbered Encore edition.
      WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
We are a group of passionate professionals, eager to leave our mark upon the miniatures hobby world. With this first limited collection we wanted to make sure our message was clear: we strive for original content of the highest quality. Our pin-up models were inspired by Greek paintings and sculptures. We’ve taken care to be inclusive, choosing to go for the varied natural body types over photoshopped magazine cover artificial beauty. Bottom line: we want you to be satisfied and awed by the hard work of our fantastic artists and sculptors.
      WHAT IS AEON TRESPASS?
Art doesn’t exist in a void. It needs context to be fully realized and appreciated. The great paintings and sculptures are as much a fruit of the artist’s labor, as they are of the times they were created in. So too, we wanted to root our Nymphs in a world that is more tangible and ‘lived-in’. We love world-building and game design; cool giant monsters, grizzled anti-heroes and epic tales of adventure. All that – and much more! – awaits you in the world and game of Aeon Trespass.
The story takes places many years after Olympus fell - an event ominously called the Eschaton - when mortals have to deal with both, an unchecked technological progress and a return to more primal beliefs that precede even the old gods. It is a dark, dangerous world, stalked by kaiju-like monsters and visited by otherworldly entities, but one not without hope: courage, valor, loyalty and a penchant for beauty, they all shine the brightest in the pitch black of night.
      NYMPHS
The Nymphs are a group of powerful entities that sprang into being after the old gods of Olympus died. Their motivations are unknown and their methods inscrutable. What is known, is that they like to play with the fates of mortals... Below you will find a short description of each Nymph and their place in the world.
This is just a small foray into that world: a wetting of your feet, if you will. Inspired by the great storytelling works of Dark Souls, Malazan Book of the Fallen and Kingdom Death, we’ve sprinkled small pieces of lore into those sections that will inform you further on the world of Aeon Trespass and point into the direction of its mysteries and secrets.
