I quite enjoyed ep. VII, but I have to say that teaser tells me next to nothing. ::P:

Today is quite the day for geek enthusiasts, MST3K returns and now this.  What a time to be alive.

I agree. The only things I think we can conclude:

1). Rey undergoes some sort of force training, possibly involving lightsabers.

2): There will be a space battle & things blow up

3): More Luke & Jedi flashbacks

4): Chewie will probably be in it (who's flying the Falcon then, eh?)

Although personally I was pretty keenly interested in the mechanical details...like what kind of ships were the Resistance/Republic using in the space battle sequence?

Damon.

The existence of this trailer reminds me that I still haven't watched the two previous star wars films.

I haven't held a brush in many years, but it was bound to happen again--Evil cannot be contained forever.  I now commence the assault on your senses with a selection of miniatures.  The pictures aren't very good, but we have a start(l)ing place.  Besides, they've just gone through the liner so there's not much (Deep HurtingTM) to see yet.  Right now, I'll be looking for tabletop quality.

The Imperial Assault minis are the group we've been using for the campaign and a selection of wookiees because I thought they might be fun.  Diala Passil (Force-wielding twi'lek) is my character. I plan on painting her pretty closely to the character art.  One of the Wookiee Warriors has been hit with Grey Liner, and the other with Brown Liner.  I think the grey one will be an older wookie with white/grey fur or perhaps some streaks.  I might make the other Warrior a very dark brown or even black.  Gaarkhan (wookiee) is another player and will be a lighter (blonde-ish) furred individual.  Chewbacca has been included because he was feeling left out, and it's not wise to upset a wookiee.  Mak Eshka'Rey (bothan) is our ranged fighter/sniper.  Mak will be painted orange/amber as inspired by our youngest cat and will have a blue uniform because I don't much care for green.  Davith Elso (Force-wielding human) rounds out the party.  Davith will also probably closely match the character art.

The goal is to have the four PCs all painted for the final game of the campaign in three weeks.

The Undertaker has been given his base of Brown Liner.  I'll never use it in a game, but he would make a decent representation of The Necromancer for a fantasy setting that sometimes lurks in my head.  The Grave Minions (not pictured--I'm working on it) will be with him and undercoated with Blue Liner.  I could really use more Minions (perhaps even some worker-types).  I think they're really a neat little concept.  Anyway, these will be companions to The Necromancer.  I'm betting that at least one will have a white pumpkin for a head, and will all have a blue glow (if I can manage it) in their heads.  Vorvorlaka has received his Grey Liner.  I'm thinking he will be either grey, or very pale.  He might be "in limbo" for some time as I work that out.  The Graveyard Golem was also subjected to Grey Liner.  This one just jumped out at me as an incredible figure during the campaign.  I thought it was one of the coolest things, even though I'm unlikely to ever use it.  It's a little intimidating realizing just how much opportunity for color there is with the golem.  It doesn't have to be all brown earth and grey stone.  The Carrion Worm (also not pictured, hopefully this weekend) will also be hit with the Blue Liner.  The current plan is to have something somewhere between a rather fleshy grub and a bloodworm (glycera).

To continue my Imperial Assault posts, here is the figure I photographed that had the best light.
I'll have to re-take pictures of everyone else.
Fenn Signis is a sniper hero in the game.
I did follow the Sorastro Guides, but with Reaper paints.
The hardest part of this figure was trying to paint in purple sunglasses, when they are not part of the sculpt.
      Oh, that and BLACK!
The pic is a little out of focus on that one, because the camera chose to put the tip of the gun in best focus there.
I was happy with how the rebel insignia on his shoulder came out.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

Hi everyone.  In an attempt to put some non Bones 3 items on the forums, I present some Storm Troopers.
It's been a while since I've posted my own pics.
I've been working diligently for the last 15 months trying to finish the first set of Imperial Assault miniatures.
I'd previously posted my Probe Droids and Imperial Officers.

      Below are my Storm Troopers.
I did follow the Sorastro guides.  If anyone doesn't know about those, it is a well produced set of You Tube videos worth checking out.

These storm troopers almost killed the desire to do the whole project.
I have been using almost exclusively Reaper paint, despite the tutorials using GW paint.
This means I sprayed the troopers with white primer, then slathered on a bunch of Reaper Black Wash.
It took 3-6 layers of paint to get them reasonably white.  You can't tell too much in the pics, but there are areas which were left less white in shadowed areas like under the calf.
By the time I was happy with them, I didn't want to add any battle damage or dirty feet, but I did it anyway in the spirit of following the tutorial.
I think the gloss coat really makes these fit the full nostalgic effect.  Let me know what you think.

Happy 40th birthday to Star Wars!  Released this day, May 25th, in 1977.

Wish I could say I stood in line the first day and then saw it 500 times, but that wasn't me.  I can remember going to see it that summer with my big sister at the local mall's movie theater.  We later took my mom & dad; and my mom, not a sci-fi-fi fan, became infamous in our family for dozing off during the big battle at the end.

Somewhere around here, I saw an article... rather good one... where someone took a Reaper monk figure and made a pretty good looking Jedi figure out of it.

I've found myself thinking about Star Wars figures as of late, and I have found myself wondering: What figures does Reaper make, Bones or otherwise, that would manage a reasonable or easy conversion into Star Wars characters, or even generic space opera folks?

      Ideas? Suggestions? Pictures?
