Maledrakh's Oathsworn Ancient McFiggin

Oathsworn's fourth kickstarter project was Clan McFiggin, a set of 12 dwarf brewers, back in 2014.

Time to get this party started!

This is Ancient McFiggin, the eldest of the lot, and presumably prime taster for the brewery.

There is something strange going on with his mouth. Not sure what is supposed to be what, so I went for dentures. Possibly is should have been the upper lip. Whatever.

This is a great model. I was just starting to put my toe in the Kickstarter pool on 2014,so missed out.  ::(:

Didn't even notice the funky teeth until you brought them up.  Whatever's going on, they work for this guy.

Worhh I like this!

It fits him to be growling with his teeth showing..

Do you know if it is still possible to buy this figure anywhere?

Great paint, Maledrakh! And it may have taken you since 2014 to get around to this, but I haven't even undercoated mine yet.

As for the mouth thing, it's so long ago, I can't remember! I vaguely recall he had his mouth closed, but I'm usually wrong. I'll have to dig out the green and check that. It's the only way to be sure... ::D:

LarsM, sorry, but the mini's currently unavailable - it's on our ever-growing list of jobs to sort out, so it may happen eventually. Provided I don't get distrac...  ooooh, shiny!

Thanks for answering.

He would have matched perfectly into an idea with a drinking goblin boss from Avatars of War I have; "discussing the fine art of brewing"

My friend found this dwarf, he thinks he got it around 2006, about eleven years ago:

[MOD]Please use the full SKU and name of Reaper minis in the titles of your Show Off threads, per forum guidelines. You can find this information on the blister card or in the online store. I also like to give credit to the sculptor in a tag, so people can find their favorites.

We have a high volume of posts generated from this challenge, which is great! But it's also creating a lot of work for the mods. Ladystorm has already urged folks to comply with these guidelines.[/MOD]

      Important Change!
As an experiment, this project has been moved to be a bi-monthly challenge. The longer time frame theoretically will give less stress to painting, and allow more complex jobs, and more sinister challenges.

      FAQ
      Reaper only? - No.
If going on vacation, can I paint a mini(s) ahead to cover that time frame? - Yes.
Are speed paints acceptable - Yes.
Can it be a mini started previously? - Yes.
      Based or unbased? - Yes.
Do minis for exchanges count? - Yes.

      NEW RULE - Size Equivilancy
(This list is subject to change as bones 3 releases)
Medium and smaller = 1 ea
Simple Terrain (plain floors, walls) = 1ea
Complex Terrain (http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Terrain/latest/03518 or such) = 2 ea
Large (Giants and the like) = 2 ea
Huge (Most dragons, Demon Minotaur Lord, etc) = 3 ea
Bigger (Kally, Khanjirra, etc) = half of quota – rounded up
      Colossal ("Tianot,") = quota

Due to the variable nature of a CAV I compare them against a generic 28mm figure and the Avatar large figure. I take height and bulk into considering if it is worth 1 or 2 figures.
If it's not in this list, it counts as 1.
      Thunderbird
      Emperor
      Ronin
      Simba
      Tiamat
      Katana
      Tyrant
      Starhawk
      Regent
      Cataphract
      Silverback
      Kraken

If you have a question on the size, please post it here, and I'll address them individually.

Much like last year, the idea is to help those of us that normally paint VERY little, to start painting more.

      You challenge begins...now!

      And Our Mantra:

      Participants:
If your name is missing, or you believe your count is incorrect, please PM me. Please note: to make counts easier, you must post in the bi-monthly thread.

      The objective:
To paint 52+ minis throughout the course of the year via bi-monthly quota
(each bi-monthly thread will have the quota listed as well as the master list)

      What qualifies:
      Darn near anything!
      Reaper/non-reaper!
      Any material!
Shelf of shame minis from ages long forgotten!
      Exchange minis!
      Speed paints!
Armies! (Though I'd encourage perhaps something outside the army as well)
      Any Size!
      Based/unbased!
Etc! (I think that covers everything)

      Blah, can't win lately.

Please see the main post here for rules, questions and general chatter, while using this thread to keep a list of links to your show-offs or show-off related comments in a single post: A reminder to please adhere to miniatures posting guidelines as usual.

All the information you need should be here.

Due to the revised format, there will be more than one bonus challenge available for this month. Including a "Hard mode" which Is some combination that may or may not have a source behind it.

      Your challenge is: 9!

      Bonus Challenge: The First!
Oh Rats - July 22nd Is attributed as Ratcatcher's Day due to the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. There's too much folklore to get into here - so let's see a ROUS or two!

      Bonus Challenge: The Second!
Richard Nixon made proclamation 4071 as National Clown week. The challenge is to make a character that's not sculpted as a clown, to have the garish appearance of one. (I would say the style of Killer Klowns from outer space works here too)

      Hard Mode Challenge!
Let's combine two of our favorite things, difficult colors and transparent cloth! Paint a mini of your choice using either Red or Yellow transparent cloth. (or is the term Translucent? I don't remember, I'm not done with my first pot of coffee yet.)

      Good luck

Finished this guy a little over a week ago. Took almost no time compared to my previous figures and I've got a better setup figured out for taking pictures now!

I finally was able to get the time and - quite frankly - the painting bug biting me to get this done for Jasper the 2nd, who won my Artist page 500 likes random contest drawing.

This is the figure he picked out of my collection and I'm going to mail him out this week. It's a Forge Guardian from Rackham Confrontation, dwarf of Tir-Na-Bor. Metal figure, at 28mm scale. It was actually quite fun to paint up. The base is a pre-made base that I painted to be a stained/rusted metallic from the old Stonehaven Dwarves kickstarter.

Anyhow, C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated, thanks for looking!
