I've been working on some bigger projects and have been really bogged down with some of them. I decided to test out some snow following one of Mr. Justin's two minute tutorials. In order to give it a fair test, I painted up a Vahallan Heavy Bolter team. I did this to work on some leather texturing techniques I've been trying to perfect. So a lot of different things going on in this piece here. My color scheme is roughly following the Stalingrad army. I've been working off one of the Osprey books about the battle and have found it very useful.
I'm pretty pleased with the results. The snow looks fantastic (I think anyway, I'm biased). I need to remember to spray seal the figures before I put them on the base.
A Troll for Blood Bowl, as chosen by my Patrons.
Pretty fun to paint, but 19 pieces for a single model is...ridiculous?
Also tough to photo - all the deep, crossing-over parts cast big shadows, and in order to light them you get major hotspots elsewhere.
I feel he turned out pretty nice.
I grabbed some Chaos Cultists from the Dark Vengeance box from a buddy of mine. Don't know what I'm going to use them for. Maybe Shadow War eventually.
Anyway, didn't want to spend a lot of time on them so I just spray primed with the AP color primers then applied some basic base costs. I finished them off with the AP strong tone quickshade followed by the anti shine. I think they turned out pretty well.
thanks for looking. Comments and critiques are always appreciated.
Just a little while ago, I got to paint up a full force of Stormcast Eternals riding various drakes.
I was a little surprised by just how many Stardrakes fit into the force, and there were quite a number of Dracothian Guard as well (I only got a couple of them photographed).
Here they are in their glory.
