Looks even better in hand!

 

I am glad you took pics as I was trying to figure out what background to use to show it off.  The base is also well done as I originally thought a piece of real shale was used to create it but after very careful examination I discovered that is is faux shale,  it is the paint job that is fooling me!

Like the pride of Pygmalion, your pleasant paint job with the purple patina pulses with power.  Potent placement (nice base) and pretty pictures too!

That is a WONDERFUL stone effect. The Rocky Guy is BEAUTIFULLY painted & based. He is probably the best looking Stone Golem I have thus far seen. VERY WELL DONE!

IIRC, I've used flattened modelling putty (green stuff or milliput) - every time I mix too much of it I flatten the remains and save them for future use ::):
