Stuff has happened on this this week. I finished the gold skin (touch-ups and smoothing not withstanding).  I finished the belly scales.  I also decided to take the back scales back to green and the skin to Terran Khaki.

Ooh question! What are you using as straps to hold the figure to the bottle?

...anticipation adds flavor to the dish, or, in this case, the mini.  It is a thing of BEAUTY already...even though I liked the feathers.

It got a nice Skull Island Monster vibe to it. I like the green scales, that color scheme is more traditional but classics never fail.

Rubber bands hooked around a couple of screws:

He was too big to stick tight to the carpet tape I usually use with Bones and kept falling off.   I can't use the super glue I use with metal minis because it bonds too tightly to the Bones material.  So, I got creative.

Did the back scales.  They aren't looking right in the second picture, I'm getting glare or something. I also painted the mouth and eyes and base-coated the skin in Khaki Shadow and the fur in Blackened Brown with a wash of Brown Liner.

I think the eyes need a bit more yellow to give the burning look. So do you like the eyes without pupils, or should I add slits?  I am trying to decide before adding the WDFH.

I am going to add a pattern to the skin.  I want to use this mini as an example in my skin effects class at ReaperCon.  I'm thinking irregular spots.

I'm going to give this guy a few more nights and then abandon him.  I'm not going to pretend I'm doing my best work here, but it is a good mini to shake the painting rust off on. I need to get going on my ReaperCon entries and a bunch of sculpts I am working on for some clients.

Have a great night,

Andy

Painted the skin.  It isn't perfect. but good for this model.  I also finished the eyes.

Needs more highlights, especially in the palms of the hands.
