Box of Goodwill round 5 picture/chatter thread

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the BoGW chatter thread for round 5!

The arrival/departure thread is here:

http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/75477-box-of-goodwill-round-5-arrivaldeparture-thread-no-chatter/

I will keep that thread updated as people post in it.

If there are any questions, hopefully you'll find the answer here:

Some of you may notice that I will be ending up with 2 boxes at the completion of this round; here's why:

Froggy wants to transition from box starter to participant, so he is sending out the box he currently has and has been worked into a group so he can play along too. I will end up with the box that he is starting out. I may try to bring it along to Reapercon with me (if I have by then) or I may Froggcidentally combine his box with my box for the next go-round.

Glad to see it back.  I have accumulated a small box of redundant goodies since last time.  I hope people can make use of them.

(Is it okay to include someone whose hand has fallen off?)

(Also, the first two rounds I put in way more than I took out.  The second two rounds the boxes came packed to the gills and I took out somewhat more than I put in.  In all cases I've tried to send on plenty of goodies to the next person.

In that light, how strict is the one-for-one swap rule?)

Do you have the hand? Either way, that's perfectly fine.

As for the 1-for-1 rule: it's more of a guideline.

In your particular case, I would say that all of your activity has certainly balanced out.

Woohoo!

I have my selection of Bones 3 discards ready. :) (Plus other goodies!)

I think a figure without a hand is fine, it can be used for other part donations, like it's head; or used as a basis to do some hand transplant work.

Running over to the sign-up sheet now!

How big a box are we actually talking?  USPS Large Flat rate?  Medium?

Just curious on the volume of stuff that would be in circulation.

You'd be amazed at how much stuff will actually fit in one of those medium boxes when packed carefully... ::D:

Particularly if the figures have been de-blistered and are in little baggies.

I fully expect one of us to get a notice from the USPS one day informing us that one of the boxes was lost due to reaching critical mass and taking out half of downtown Cleveland...

I was about to make a smart-elf comment but then realized that I don't know enough about Cleveland to insult it.

If parts are missing please label it. It's not always obvious when looking at a figure for the first time, or if it comes unassembled.

This is one of the figures I nabbed from the recent BoGW.  Our group is currently running Rise of the Runelords, so my husband the DM was very happy to gain another ogre.  It is hard to tell in the photos, but the nasty looking sword in back was done in folkart color shift green flash paint for a nasty looking magic weapon.

This is an old Mage Knight figure that I slightly converted and repainted. He was holding a comically undersized flail in his left hand, so I cut it off and replaced it with a halberd from an old GW Chaos Warrior I had in my bits box. After that, it was just a matter of repainting him for use on the tabletop. He'll make an interesting BBEG in some game I haven't created yet.

      Thanks for looking.

These are 3 little imps/demons that I pulled off the melt table at Reapercon last year. I'm not sure of manufacturer, so if you recognize them, please let me know. I think they may be from a 15mm figure range.

I bashed these guys out over he course of a couple evenings about a week ago. Thanks for looking.
