Anything that is exactly like a scalpel in every way should work.  ;)  I use an X-acto knife--the scalpel style.

Generally you're going with the seam line, i.e. following along the line with the scraper.

Thanks for the input in mold line removal folks, I don't get a lot of time to paint on sundays but I squeezed in 29 minutes to remove the lines by scraping and the difference is quite something
