Nosferatu - an ub3r WIP

Recommended Posts

As if I don't already have enough projects, I can't keep him waiting any longer! This is Nosferatu, a limited edition bust from Green Monkey Models. I have copy 11/50. This sculpt is amazingly detailed, it's creepy and awesome. I'm going to try out some new undead skin tones on this bust and just have some fun. I'll elicit all of your comments and critiques as I go through this project as well!

As you can see he's nearly 90mm tall, a pretty sizable bust. I'm going to clean up the little bits of putty I used to make sure the seams where his arms join his body are smooth and even and then use the airbrush to layer on some primer!

Primed and pre-highlighted. I like to do the black and white primer to bring out more details and do the pre-highlighting and pre-shading. I'm still getting the hang of the airbrush.

Awesome bust!

Those nails, you could do them in a grey/ green tone with small subtle stripes.

Dirty nails from clawing out of the grave.

Spoiler

Or more of a blue tone

I think I like the greenish better.

Really nice looking... how hard is that going to be to get a brush behind the hands?

Not too bad. I'll probably try out the airbrush for some more of this to do some base coating and shadows.

Nice eyes you have going there.  I like the colors you are starting from for this figure.

Thanks!

I think I need to put him down for the night as I keep fiddling with things at this point. I know I need to hit some more areas for touch-ups and bring up some highlights and up the contrast in some areas, so I'll let everyone look him over and give me some feedback before I go back to it.

The eyes are really great.

If I should be critical, I think a bit more blending on the bones around his eyes, mistet on the highlight just below his right eye.

Besides that, Its pretty scary!

Awesome!

Good eyes and I like your progress so far.

Since you challenged me a few years ago, I also love the larger figures and busts.

Undead are some of my favorite creatures, you're really capturing the Nosferatu look IMHO.

Thanks all!

Yes, please be very critical and give me very honest and harsh feedback of what I need to do to finish him up. I'll go on and make the needed tweaks and corrections.
