Reaper Bones 4: Enthusiasm and Commentary Thread

Recommended Posts

Welp, while I've been less than enthused about many of the reveals so far (personal taste, not a knock on Reaper), I've got to say that I'm very happy with the Tree of Despair and the Dreadmere expansion.

I can't say that I will 100% keep the Dreadmere expansion on my "must buy" list, but it's there right now and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next for it.

Nothing much interests me yet beyond the core set. I'm hoping for some nice creatures coming up in the stretch goals.

I need something to wow me like the BFG, Mashaaf, or Nethermaul did in the last few. I'm guessing there will be something because there's a lot of time left.

So am I correct, did I hear them say that the chronoscope expansion is done, there will be no more additions? Just trying to figure out what I will budget for and knowing this will help (well budget from here to July 2018 haha).

Correct; Reaper has confirmed a few times that the Chronoscope Expansion has only 3 parts.

Looking at the tree, the space between the rope and chain on the left and right.  It looks like you could hang a victim on each side.  Lots of versatility!

Very nice!! I guess people really want that tree!

I think it's both the tree, for those who up their pledge when a goal is announced, and the chronoscope expansion being completed for those who up their pledge when the goal is achieved.

I'm very impressed with the new backers added just before the Ding, and the 2K+ hours we have had after the ding. I suspect we will Ding again tomorrow.

I would also think the new expansion has something to do with it. I wonder if there is really a way to find out what the breakdown is...the PM could be an indicator if it is being utilized and data can be extrapolated from it in some way already.

Random data point comparison:

Bones 3 at 2300 on the 12th day:
10,295 backers and    $1,383,127 with a $76k 24 hour gain

Bones 4 at 2300 on the 12th day:
10,432 backers and    $1,222,065 with a $53k 24 hour gain

Please note that this is not apples to apples.

While I am not an official source, I would say the Chrono. Expansion is complete.  All expansions in past Kickstarters have only had three sub-set additions; and the fact there is no more blank space on that Expansion's graphic is a sure sign.

Great that helps a lot as far as deciding where in my after KS list this expansion goes. Should be worth $50, but definitely want Core and my other fave add-ons first. Depending on what dreadmere unlocks, that may go in also, but so far not on my list (and my wallet is happy about that).

I do t have the graph link copied on my phone, it's in one boots summaries, and I posted it a bit back here.

But on that graph I note slope of the line during the middle of the Bones 3 ks was steeper and set to intersect the line for Bones 2 if it had been given more time and had continued on it's then current trajectory. Theoretically given enough time, Bones 3 would have met or exceeded the funding of Bones 2.

Bones 4 curve mirrors Bones 3.

i wonder when the pie throwing would occur.

      About
The Heavy Gear Blitz! Peace River & NuCoal Core Plastic Miniatures Kickstarter will fund the plastic injection mold needed to make new high-quality multi-part plastic miniatures for the tabletop wargame. Dream Pod 9 needs your support and pledges to make this project possible. Our initial goal is to raise $25,000 CAD to cover the manufacturing cost of the initial mold and to give Backers some nice plastic miniatures for the game. The next major stretch goal is $50K CAD for a second mold that will include Fire Support and Recon models. And at $75K CAD a third mold with two more models and Stoneheads Badlands Terrain.
For our Peace River fans we have a Peace River Army Commander Level for a pledge of $70 CAD that includes 1 Peace River Patch and starts with 8 plastic minis (4 Warrior and 4 Warrior IV) to make a starter army of General Purpose and Strike Squads. Planned Stretch Goals will increase the number of plastic minis to 19 (6x Warrior, 6x Warrior IV, 3x Crusader IV, 3x Skirmisher, and 1x Argos).
And for our NuCoal fans we have a NuCoal Army Commander Level for a pledge of $70 CAD that includes 1 NuCoal Patch and starts with 8 plastic minis (4 Chasseur and 4 Cuirassier) to make a starter army of General Purpose and Strike Squads. For players that want to rule the Terra Novan Badlands we have the Badlands Commander Level that combines the Peace River and NuCoal Army Commander rewards.  Including 1 Peace River and 1 NuCoal Patch and starts with 16 plastic minis (4 Warrior, 4 Warrior IV, 4 Chasseur and 4 Cuirassier) to make two starter armies of General Purpose and Strike Squads. Planned Stretch Goals will increase the number of plastic minis to 38 (6x Warrior, 6x Warrior IV, 3x Crusader IV, 3x Skirmisher, 1x Argos, 6x Chasseur, 6x Cuirassier, 3x Chevalier, 3x Jerboa, and 1x Arbalestier).

Arcadia Quest: Riders features a brand-new campaign that tells the story of the Guilds attempting to push Malkhor back from the city. In this campaign, 3 alternative scenarios plug into the previously released Beyond the Grave and Pets expansions, bringing a fun mix of Mounts, Pets and Undead together. There's even a scenario that mixes Riders with the other 2 expansions!

Based on past experience, we will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter concludes based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign ends, using PayPal. This is so we can be fair to all our backers as shipping is rarely one size fits all, and also give you more stretch goodies and possibly a choice of carrier options.

We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Depending on where in the world you are, we will either ship to you from our hub in the UK (EU backers), China (Asia Pacific backers), Canada (Canadian backers), Australia (Australia and New Zealand backers) or Atlanta (USA and the rest of the world). Following is a list of rough estimates for shipping a single Arcadia Quest: Riders pledge.
      • USA: $10-$15 to most states. $35 to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
      •CANADA: $15-$30 to most cities.
•LATIN AMERICA: $60 to most countries.
•ASIA: $10 to China and Hong Kong. $20-$25 to most other countries (we can’t predict an estimate cost to Malaysia).
•OCEANIA: $15-$30 to Australia. $20 to New Zealand.
      •AFRICA: $75 to most countries.
      •EUROPE: $15-$30 to most countries.
      • $35 to Norway, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.
      • $35-$45 to Bosnia/Herzegowina, Croatia, and Iceland.
      • $60 to Israel, Liechtenstein, and Serbia.

Unfortunately, different import laws and customs have made it impossible for CMON to ship games to certain specific countries.

*WE DO NOT SHIP TO:* Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.

So, pledge based on shipping hub (shipping paid after campaign), one copy of riders only available for June, more available in pledge manager

      5 days only

no stretch goals (apparently), what you see is what you get, cost $65 + shipping

personally it looks expensive (especially as I don't like the way the mounts are done although I see why they've gone the way they have), but if you play a bunch of AQ it might be worth it..... maybe? If it doesn't work out I could see CMON not bothering with anything for retail when they reprint, on the other hand a discount from an online seller would look pretty good if you wanted to wait

EDIT: link to the live kickstarter:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/hellboy-the-board-game/description

The Hellboy board game will be a co-operative experience in which players face off against some of the comic’s most famous foes. Up to four people take control of iconic BRPD members, such as Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Roger the Homunculus, before exploring gothic locations and uncovering ancient artifacts.
Set to make its Kickstarter debut in April 2018, the Hellboy board game will feature stunning, pre-assembled plastic miniatures that accurately capture the look and feel of Mike Mignola’s world famous comic series.
“Hellboy has a great cast of characters, diverse locations and legendary monsters from the pages of folklore and myth,” said Ronnie Renton, Mantic CEO. “The comics provide a fantastic foundation on which to build an immersive, fun and fast-paced co-operative board game that will let players experience some of their favorite moments from the series.”

      Kickstarter is live:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/plastcraftgames/exo-mankind-reborn-board-game

An upcoming kickstarter by Plast Craft games, an established maker of terrain for various genres.

This is their first foray into miniatures as well as an actual game.

Should note that English is not their first language, but they've been very responsive whenever I've sent a query about one of their buildings.

The link below is to a draft of the kickstarter not the kickstarter itself which will launch on May 2nd.
