Reaper Bones 4: Enthusiasm and Commentary Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure the human sized or smaller figures will eventually come in metal. It makes sense if they do. I mean Reaper has the files/sculpts already might as well use them. I for one am glad they are as I'm not a fan of Werner Klocke's Bones sculpts for example. Way too much detail that gets lost in the translation.

Also holding out that Sophie from B3 comes out in metal as well. The figure is way to flimsy for my tastes. Metal Sophie(s) all the way!!

He's a great sculptor, but I tend to agree that his detailing gets dulled in plastic. Bones is improving over time though; maybe this version will be better. Still, if there is a market for the metal (and I think we've proved there is), may as well make them in both materials! Heck, it would make for good stuff to test color schemes on. Test a figure's composition in Bones loosely, then do a really kickbroccoli paint-up on metal.

Ooooh yep, comparing the preview gallery to the core and lost valley set, I think you guys are right. This makes me quite happy. I hope the deep and bloodstone gnomes get metalized too. They're wee sized.

If more of the little ones come out in metal then I can more freely fling the Bones ones at Sir Cyr and friends, yay!

*back to scheming about my volcanic-lighting color scheme for Dance of Death Dragons*

Blodstone Gnomes should be in metal already (unless these are new sculpts) under the Warlord line.

Speaking of viewing the Core Set, those images aren’t showing up for me on the KS page (I use the app), only in the Pledge Manager. Is this a hiccup or intentional?

I recall them saying that they could no longer update the KS one once the KS ended so its just on the pledge manager site now.

(could totally be wrong!)

That's accurate. The number of images and traffic was getting to be too much for KS's servers the last week or so and updates started to glitch out and the main page wouldn't update properly and eventually they just said forget it and made this side page to show the details:

https://www.reapermini.com/bones4

Which sadly they stopped adding things to.

The current state of the campaign page is the last state they got to be stable.

One of the reasons I haven't gotten Dreadmere is I'm hoping more of them come out in metal.. and thats the only reason I'm disappointed in the Geniekin size.. i was hoping for both of them in metal..

I pledged for two barges.

On will be a barge the other one will become several shipwrecks or an undead landship.

I had much the same feeling, pulled by a team of zombies...

It popped into my head hen I saw this -

Thankfully, after I order Fan Favorites expansion with money from ebay sales, I will have just under $150 to go. Soon i'll be able to turn my monthly allowance to other endeavors :)

And not to kick a dead horse, but @Reaper Ron, can we please get a yes or no on whether or not the trolls will get the battering ham? Honestly, this is what has kept me from pulling the trigger on that ONE pledge.

I know I'll beat myself up later if I don't get the core set but I also can't get myself to commit to it.

I'm not crazy about a lot of but there are a few things I really like.  It would also give the kids a pile of figures to paint.

The Core Set is broken down in several parts you can pledge for separately.

Surprised I did not see this mentioned yet.

So my question here once people look at it is this really worth it?  The cost seems high given you can get Rosemary & Co or other company Kolinsky brushes far cheaper.  What makes these worth the extra cost?  I know you get the brush soap (which I would think most of us have already) and a nice case (not really needed perhaps).  But seems like $65ish with shipping for 4 brushes seems high.

      About this project
Designed by Archon Studio, creators of League of Ancient Defenders and Vanguard of Warcomes Empire of Men - a miniature line of 28mm scale set in dark future, where World War I still rages on.
War that should have ended long time ago
Our miniatures are based on various military designs from World War I and II eras, with obvious dark sci-fi twist added to it. Divided into two factions, they are more closer to it's historical sources or more imaginative on the other hand.

Heavy boots, thick leather coats and gas masks worn by everyone - that's The Great Empire in the nutshell. What they are lacking in physicality, they will compensate in calibers and amount of shots per minute. As World War One rages on mostly on their lands, toxic warfare resulted in whole zones being inhabited by mutated people, who eventually serve as Ubermans. Nothing is wasted in Military Industrial Complex of Great Empire.

Inhuman sleekness, terrifying effectiveness and cold calculation are Echelon Dominion's traits. After mandatory "Echelon Civilian Enhancement" government programs, can no longer considered as "human". This is not a decision taken solely by The Great Empire, but also by the Echelon, who see human equating to weakness. Where other forces deploy heavy infantry, The Echelon deploy Constructs. Where other forces face fear and suffering, they welcome challenge and seek to prove themselves. Their purpose is unknown as they don’t fight solely for the purpose of land, honor or survival but whatever their plan is it will end current era for mankind for sure.
      How the models are built
All models from "Empire of Men" line are multipart and 28mm scaled. You can see overview of sizes below:

Also - if you have backed any of the previous Archon's campaigns, you can compare sizes of Empire of Men models with VoW and LOAD miniatures as well.

      About
Over the last two years Halfsies Dice have taken the dice market by storm in the form of 7-die RPG sets, but up until this time there has been no option available for Halfsies Dice in bulk.  In fact, to date, Kickstarter has never had any campaign for dedicated bulk dice sets ...and frankly, it's eaten away at us this whole time.
      "What about Fireball!?", I think.
      "What about Warhammer!?", I think.
Well, the time has come to appease the fist, and fill it with the heaviest, densest, and most well balanced resin dice on the planet!
Time for some serious dice chucking!

This campaign is unique and special in the following ways:
This is a Kickstarter-exclusive product.  You won't be finding these at your FLGS post-campaign. Production stock is limited.  Pledge early to claim the sets you want before we run out. You'll "Pledge" and fill out the "Pledge Manager" (PM) in the same day.  Pledges are final at time of submission and can't be altered. Best of all: Rewards ship in under a month.  Shipping: April 2018 ...guaranteed!
