Reaper Bones 4: Enthusiasm and Commentary Thread

Recommended Posts

I do a lot of my hobby funding by selling extras and trading.  I know I do lean toward hoarding tendencies and try to actively avoid it.

My grandmother was a depression era hoarder, the extent of which we did not realize until her passing.  What we thought was a cramped closet in her apartment was an entire extra bedroom, stuffed to the gills.  Presents, extra appliances that were never used, valuables left to rot.  I don't want my hobby room to wind up looking like that, even if I do have a lead mountain of shame.

Is there a chance anyone has already made a list figuring out what bases to get with the core/the expansions?

If so it would be great if that person could share it, otherwise I'm gonna try my hand.

I seem to recall this happening over in the Kickstarter comments many moons ago. Might be easier to make a new one rather than go back through thousands of comments, though.

I went ahead and added a few things I've been eyeing for a while. Been drooling over adding another DVD set.

• Jen Haley/Anne Foerster DVD

• Living Statue Amazon

• Ape Attack

• Bases

My mom found a tiny nerd store in her town, and talked to the owners there. Sounds like when I visit mom, they'd be interested in having me host a mini painting lesson for the local kids. And with Bones IV having so much stuff to practice on, which face it, I won't get to all paint myself, I have a supply coming to give to kids in a lesson ^_^

I was lucky enough to get the first two DS DVD's for a great price, so I was able to divert the money I would have used for JUST the first DVD to more mini's:) So after the 13th, I will be putting in my FINAL! (well, unless I can muster $18 bucks for paint set 1 haha) order! If I do not get the paint set, I will be sitting just a few bucks short of a grand for my total order:) If I get the paint set, then i'll be just a bit of a grand:)

Will be a great 50th Birthday present!

Update week... I wonder what we'll get to see this time?

Personally I'm looking forward to the rest of the Jade Fire figures!

I hope we'll get to see the Minotaur Sophie friend.

Have we seen a 3d print of Warchief Mumlak yet? I'm wondering how close he'll look to the King of the Jungle on the throne?

Either way, I just hope we get to see a bunch of 3d prints. They're very exciting :-).

I haven’t backed any of Bears Heads kickstarters yet, but I’ve been tempted by everyone.
This is the one that I give in to.
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/98300108/narthoks-the-excellent
But hurry! It’s funded with ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT!

As nice as that sculpt is, it’s the sci-fi and bartender versions I’m most excited about. The stretch goals for those have been reached, but only concept drawings are available to show.

I think these are great unique looking eye beasts.
@TheAuldGrump maybe something you could use for your campaign?

Didn't see a post about this yet:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deadlyprintstudio/battlefx

BattleFX is a bundle comprising of several 3D designs of dynamic effects and destructible terrain for wargames. ready for you to print.
Every item of the bundle has been carefully designed and tested to be 3D printed. this kickstarter includes a STL pack of each pledge, ready to be printed using your own 3D printer - or alternatively, using online 3D printing services.
After working extensively on the movie FX sector, we realized we could apply that experience to our wargamme hobby - and taking things to the next level.
We have been working very hard and have already finished designing and testing every one of the items on our basic pledge, therefore guaranteeing that YOU will get it. However, we want to continue creating and offering you new, epic effects for your wargames - hence the advance stretchgoals!
/*Included in Kaboom Pledge and above*\
It has the widest range from trusters to muzzles flashes and smoky Fx!
S - Muzzles Flashes S - Trusters S - Smoky things!  We are getting more serius here big booms and more complex Fx:
M - Big weapongs, explosion and Sci-fi Fx M - Smoke Shell, lateral atack, Sci-fi barrier and barrels Fx  The Big Boys. It takes some time to print, but it also turns your war gaming table into a real battlefield.

      About
"...Aulë made the dwarves strong to endure. Therefore they are stone-hard, stubborn, fast in friendship and in enmity, and they suffer toil and hunger and hurt of body more hardily than all other speaking peoples; and they live long, far beyond the span of Men, yet not forever."
      -J. R. R. Tolkien
Dwarves really are the best! While they're often a bit rough around the edges, they have the best accents, are insatiably loot-hungry, and will fight anything that moves—so we are going to make a bunch more of them!
We've assembled them into adventuring parties to make it easier for us to pack and ship. You can add an additional adventuring party to your base reward for $22. Additional individual dwarves can be added to your base reward for $5 each. For a slightly larger view of the minis, check them out on our blog. Here are the adventuring parties:
From Left to Right: Male Dwarven Brawler, Female Dwarven Bard, Male Dwarven Deathknight, Male Dwarven Druid, Female Dwarven Warrior
The League seeks out the ancient dwarven knowledge hidden deep within the lost caverns. They hope that, in time, civilized dwarves will once again inhabit those hallowed halls.
From Left to Right: Male Dwarven Rogue, Female Dwarven Sheildbreaker, Male Dwarven Battlerager, Male Dwarven Mage, Female Dwarven Archer
Hogg's Tavern is not the sort of place that anyone should visit . . . at least not anyone who values their life or health. Surprisingly, it has regulars. Its patrons are usually adventures past their prime or looking to make a name for themselves.
From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Mechanist, Male Dwarven Automaton, Male Dwarven Gunslinger, Female Dwarven Automage, Male Dwarven Investigator
Not everyone has embraced the "advances" made in the Steam Valley workshops. When the Savages descended on the valley, the Seigebreakers and their constructs helped turn the tide against the invading armies.
From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Vampire Hunter, Male Dwarven Undead Elite, Male Dwarven Necromancer, Female Dwarven Huntsman, Male Dwarven Warlord
The lands beyond Raven's Gate are shrouded in perpetual mists and haunted by the undead. Only the very brave or the very foolish venture there. Why not both?
From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Barbarian, Female Dwarven Berserker, Female Dwarven Wandsmith, Male Dwarven Fighter, Male Dwarven Barbarian
The Iron Hills are not an easy country to grow up in. There's bitter cold winters and orcish armies locked in perpetual combat. That's not even mentioning the greatwolves. No one ever mentions the greatwolves.
Every Stretch Goal we hit will add more dwarves (or dwarf-related miniature items/companions) to the Completionist Set. When we have enough of these for a new adventuring party, a new party will be formed. Here are our stretch goals:
At $7,500 the Female Dwarven Cleric will be unlocked and added to the Dwarves Vol. 2 Completionist Reward. She will also made available as a $5 add-on.
At $10,000 the Male Dwarven Buccaneer will be unlocked and added to the Dwaves Vol. 2 Completionist Reward. He will also be made available as a $5 add-on.
As we hit these stretch goals, more dwarves will be unleashed!
