Reaper Bones 4: Enthusiasm and Commentary Thread

I'm quite happy with how the EU orders are planned to happen. Yes, paying VAT up front hurt, it was roughly 20% iirc, but if everything actually arrives at my door without extra charge I will be quite happy.

Paying upfront in smaller incriments feels better than having your fulfillment joy dampened by a sudden large fee.

I agree, better to pay the VAT upfront and then not have to pay a handling fee for the privilege of the Royal Mail calculating the VAT for me.

On a more positive note, is it wrong that I'm looking forward to all the pictures of forumites cats sitting in their new boxes? ::P:

I think my Hubby's cat was disappointed with the size of the last KS box. It was fairly narrow. Nonetheless, he sat in it until he threw up in it.

I don't have a cat, but based on what everyone has said, I will fit in the box :;):

Oh wow you're so organised!  I can't even begin to think about what I might paint first- especially with so much already on my shelf of shame XD I do know that I keep going back and looking at the Dark Reach / Dreadmere expansions, so if I had to guess, probably something from one of those!

See, my contestants are: Something from Bones 1, something from Bones 2, or something from Bones 3... :)

(I'm not the fastest painter, and haven't really picked up a brush since my wife passed.  Yet I still buy models and paint.)

My Bones 2 cost me 42$ in extra fees including handling and taxes. Part if what was crossed was that they thought it was for resale and not personal use. But you can claim that on income taxes anyway.I definitely appreciated whatever method was used for 3 as I got no extra charges.

I used to subscribe to indie publishers in the USA, but when you add conversion and extra shipping (2$ became 10$) and I would be paying 19$ for a 7$ book. If it got stopped at the border it would automatically add another 11$. Free trade is a bit of a lie, really. It doesn't help small businesses.

Is it too late to join the kickstarter?  I was hoping to do the $15 pledge.  I see the Pledge Manager is shut down as of July 2018.

Yes.

At this point, you have to wait for retail releases.

Yeah even the late pledge option closed a long time ago now. After the kickstarter has shipped (at some point in February) we might have a better idea of when the retail releases will be scheduled. Which item was it that you were interested in? Some of the sculpts are available in metal if theres a particular model you're wanting for something?

Be aware that the stranger the model is shape-wise, the longer it will take to release.  Goremaw from the last KS just released in the past couple of weeks.  "normal" sized/shaped minis I expect will be released in monthly batches after all the KS fulfillment is complete.

Yeah, I was so happy to finally see Goremaw!  Now I just have to save up the  moolah to buy a copy...

Does anyone ever create a checklist for the minis in the core set so that when we go through them we can make sure we have everything?

Didn't see a post about this yet:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deadlyprintstudio/battlefx

BattleFX is a bundle comprising of several 3D designs of dynamic effects and destructible terrain for wargames. ready for you to print.
Every item of the bundle has been carefully designed and tested to be 3D printed. this kickstarter includes a STL pack of each pledge, ready to be printed using your own 3D printer - or alternatively, using online 3D printing services.
After working extensively on the movie FX sector, we realized we could apply that experience to our wargamme hobby - and taking things to the next level.
We have been working very hard and have already finished designing and testing every one of the items on our basic pledge, therefore guaranteeing that YOU will get it. However, we want to continue creating and offering you new, epic effects for your wargames - hence the advance stretchgoals!
/*Included in Kaboom Pledge and above*\
It has the widest range from trusters to muzzles flashes and smoky Fx!
S - Muzzles Flashes S - Trusters S - Smoky things!  We are getting more serius here big booms and more complex Fx:
M - Big weapongs, explosion and Sci-fi Fx M - Smoke Shell, lateral atack, Sci-fi barrier and barrels Fx  The Big Boys. It takes some time to print, but it also turns your war gaming table into a real battlefield.
L - Smoke grenade, Orbital atack L - Fire, water and ground explosions  The Kickstarter Star Product, the Epic Fx! Destructible, reassemblable scenography and cool lighting.

      About
"...Aulë made the dwarves strong to endure. Therefore they are stone-hard, stubborn, fast in friendship and in enmity, and they suffer toil and hunger and hurt of body more hardily than all other speaking peoples; and they live long, far beyond the span of Men, yet not forever."
      -J. R. R. Tolkien
Dwarves really are the best! While they're often a bit rough around the edges, they have the best accents, are insatiably loot-hungry, and will fight anything that moves—so we are going to make a bunch more of them!
We've assembled them into adventuring parties to make it easier for us to pack and ship. You can add an additional adventuring party to your base reward for $22. Additional individual dwarves can be added to your base reward for $5 each. For a slightly larger view of the minis, check them out on our blog. Here are the adventuring parties:
From Left to Right: Male Dwarven Brawler, Female Dwarven Bard, Male Dwarven Deathknight, Male Dwarven Druid, Female Dwarven Warrior
The League seeks out the ancient dwarven knowledge hidden deep within the lost caverns. They hope that, in time, civilized dwarves will once again inhabit those hallowed halls.
From Left to Right: Male Dwarven Rogue, Female Dwarven Sheildbreaker, Male Dwarven Battlerager, Male Dwarven Mage, Female Dwarven Archer
Hogg's Tavern is not the sort of place that anyone should visit . . . at least not anyone who values their life or health. Surprisingly, it has regulars. Its patrons are usually adventures past their prime or looking to make a name for themselves.
From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Mechanist, Male Dwarven Automaton, Male Dwarven Gunslinger, Female Dwarven Automage, Male Dwarven Investigator
Not everyone has embraced the "advances" made in the Steam Valley workshops. When the Savages descended on the valley, the Seigebreakers and their constructs helped turn the tide against the invading armies.
From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Vampire Hunter, Male Dwarven Undead Elite, Male Dwarven Necromancer, Female Dwarven Huntsman, Male Dwarven Warlord
The lands beyond Raven's Gate are shrouded in perpetual mists and haunted by the undead. Only the very brave or the very foolish venture there. Why not both?
From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Barbarian, Female Dwarven Berserker, Female Dwarven Wandsmith, Male Dwarven Fighter, Male Dwarven Barbarian
The Iron Hills are not an easy country to grow up in. There's bitter cold winters and orcish armies locked in perpetual combat. That's not even mentioning the greatwolves. No one ever mentions the greatwolves.
Every Stretch Goal we hit will add more dwarves (or dwarf-related miniature items/companions) to the Completionist Set. When we have enough of these for a new adventuring party, a new party will be formed. Here are our stretch goals:
At $7,500 the Female Dwarven Cleric will be unlocked and added to the Dwarves Vol. 2 Completionist Reward. She will also made available as a $5 add-on.
At $10,000 the Male Dwarven Buccaneer will be unlocked and added to the Dwaves Vol. 2 Completionist Reward. He will also be made available as a $5 add-on.
As we hit these stretch goals, more dwarves will be unleashed!

Anyone have any info about the company? How able do you think they can pull off a KS? They've at least been in business for a long time?
