Kickstarter Acquisition

Received my CAV 2 Paint Order

I only ordered the paints but I also received two Mechs that look like a beefy Marauder/Warhammer mix from Battletech

Edit: After checking the Kickstarter and the Catalog on Reaper, I don't see the version of the mech they sent me.

Edit:  I found it on their news page at Talon Games which is apparently called, Enforcer ...

Those are some interesting looking paints to say the least.  Here's hoping that we see then in retail store too!

I got my second one earlier this week with no updates, just showed up in the mailbox.

Like @redambrosia, I need all the other stuffs (and somewhere to airbrush) now.. lol

It was too good a deal to pass up, right? I can easily set up a space in our spare room, it's the compressor and stuff I'm worried about (lol I don't even know exactly what I need).

My first thought on this mini was that would be cool for a flute player I know.  My second thought was 'what exactly is he doing to that flute?'  He's definitely not playing it with that position, it honestly looks like he's trying to eat it...

which is too bad because otherwise the piece is stunning, unique and really special.  I also love the weaponized flute

Maybe he got bonked on the head and diesnt remember what the heck he's supposed to do

Went to one of the local thrift stores yesterday and found a $50 board game, Dojo Kun, for $4.  For that price I was willing to take a chance.  I still have to go through it to ensure all of the pieces are there.  It's a game where you run one of four Dojo's and train your fighters, then pit them against the other player's fighters in a series of tournaments.

I am looking to spend my £50 gift card I won from them and see this along with some other nice things.  I doubt I would ever paint a bust so not sure what to get.  So many pretty things there!  Any suggestions on anything there that is a must get item?!

I haven't tried them, but their brushes seem to be well liked by folks who have tried them.  Might be something more useful.  Their smaller "transition busts" are quite neat too.

Yeah the Alice in Wonderland busts were something that caught my eye.  Only because of all the Alice stuff we have collected for my daughter over the years and she paints with me so maybe one day she will want to try painting busts.

I have no clue what "transition busts" are but assuming they are smaller for people going from minis to normal sized busts?

I have so many brushes right now since I won a complete set from Wamp and have a few others I bought from different brands since we started painting.  The other things they have in store I may get are extra corks for my Rathcore mini holders.  I am liking the one that I started to use and she has been using the grip that we got.  If I start using he cork part correctly I am sure it will chew them up and some replacements would be needed.

That is exactly it.  The point was to have a more modest jump in scale than up to 1/10 which is what most of his busts are supposed to be.

Hmm. Maybe I will grab those and have them here and ready for her to try painting.  She mentioned that she liked the 'Fade' bust I got but not sure I want her trying it out as her first bust. Thanks for the info.  Now back to our on topic discussions. :)

A scale train shop in our area is closing soon, so I took a walk there and got me some stuff for terrain and basing:

Game stop had a 50% off one collectible with purchase of a game (or something, I wasn't paying a lot of attention). So I got a Bob Ross pop! The last one they had, in fact. He's at my painting desk, so he can watch me paint ^_^

Is "pop" a brand name or a type of figure?

Anyone else think the big all-black eyes are kind of weird?

I bought Celestine, the Living Saint.

I don't even play 40k, nor is there any nearby location to do so ever since the local mall closed down...

Seriously thinking about getting a Sydonian Dragoon and an Armiger Warglaive too.
