Oh, I should make a post to bump this to the top so people can find it.

Um... Today I acquired a chocolate cake! Also, ice cream for being a volunteer at the State fair. ^_^

Also, the Shade 14 welding lenses I ordered for eclipse viewing arrived yesterday. Super excited!

Being in a town with full totality a state with almost 100% totality, I will be so glad when the eclipse finally happens. So tired of hearing about it in the news & seeing banners & other constant reminders. Will I watch, yah probably. We snagged some free glasses at the bank & I'll probably go outside & watch. Will I watch the entire eclipse? Uh no.

Oh I'll bet. Be careful out there today, what with heavy traffic and crazy peoples. It'll be 96% here, but I don't know that we've gotten quite as much in the way of eclipse tourists as where you're at. Regardless, I'm not driving anywhere until it's over.

All I have to do is walk over to my eastern side of my house & I get a perfect view. ::):

Central Oregon is where all the crazies have gathered apparently.

Little nibble eaten out of the sun right now.

Only the base is primed on those. Tamiya clear yellow really goes on great over those. I should try & finish mine.

I apparently also acquired my Boozing Rollo mini from Mierce.  It shipped with my grab bag order.

Acquired: a bunch of superglue from Michaels, easy-cast resin, and a few other tiny things that I'll find useful for basing.

Acquired in a souvenirshop in Ialyssos. A white resin bust from Pallas Athena  with a Greek helmet and a large white resin Greek column. I might use that last one to put a Roman Centurion bust on top or for scenery for my 75mm Hoplite. Will post pics later this week when I get home. Total price less than 20euro...also bought honey rum, coffee liquer and caramel liquer. Will shop tomorrow for limoncello.

Got a package from El Greco today.

It contained Vallejo Smoke(70939) and Transparent Blue(70938)

Bethanwyne Foxpaw, Female Halfling from War Griffon Miniatures,

and Steampunk Dorothy and Steampunk Zara Craft from Guild of Harmony.

The paints were packed in a small zip-lock baggie, which was a good thing because the blue had leaked a drop or two. This is somethig that can happen, and which is why paints should be given additional precautions.

(The minis were in zip-lock bags, wrapped in bubblewrap inside a small carboard box, and that box, together with the paint bag was in a padded envelope. Pretty good packaging. )

I'm going to add a writeup of the packaging of every miniature-related package I receive from now.

On Saturday I bought Nuln Oil and plastic glue.  Then I spent nearly an hour trying to figure out how to use it when the needle came out.

Tacky for the Win!  Though, later, after I experimented with Milliput, I should have used that on the bottle to hold the needle in.  Next time I'm gap filling, I'll do that.

Last weekend I acquired FeR miniatures' Random Encounter dwarf, along with 20 hours of class time with the amazing Meg Maples. This was the result.

Very close to being done in class, but I'm slowly working on finishing him at home now. I'll likely be making an order for supplies to make his base today as well.
