Question the 19th of September: Do you have any "must watched" TV shows?  If so, do you watch them as they air, record them for future watching, wait til the season is released and binge watch them all at once?

I seldom watch any TV show as-it-airs, mostly because for a few years we cut the cord and had no cable, and no digital antenna, so all media became Netflix/amazon. Now I binge-stream the show after the season, and I don't care much about "spoilers". Here's the thing, I've sat down and calculated the math, and I've seen every Star Wars Trilogy movie exactly 4,397,847,234 times*. And in each and every one of those viewings, Darth Vader reveals a secret about Luke's Birth Father. And guess what - I still enjoy them, even though I know the "spoiler". The Dread Pirate Roberts, every time I watch Princess Bride, reveals his true identity, also. And so on, and so on.

So whatever about spoilers man.

Last week I discovered that my wife had, in changing internet providers, reactivated our cable TV. Apparently the package deal internet+phone+Cable was cheaper than JUST internet.

She did that back in February.  That's how much I noticed that silver box in the living room, under my Streaming device and Blu-ray player....

*I didn't actually do any math. I was too busy watching the movie to do any math.

This is how they got me to stick around.  Got rid of it...then they call me back a few weeks later saying "but if you have all 3 you will be paying X" and X was less than they told me for the interwebs and the basic network stuff so we had local news when needed.  So i said fine give it all back and give me my cheaper rate.

Plus I rarely watch Netflix or any other service we have. I usually flip through some channels I like or watch stuff that got DVR'd if I watch tv instead of playing XBOX.

I watch a lot of cooking reality tv. I'll usually watch it on demand later. Especially when it's more than an hour long. Otherwise, I use a lot of Netflix for things so I can just binge.

Would you say that MST3K is one of your Must Watch shows?

Given the frequency with which the 38 DVD box sets see play, this is undeniable.

MST WAS a must watch when it was airing.

Used to watch Walking Dead until it became pretty much torture porn...

Since this is relevant, what are people's views of the new MST3K episodes?

I watch 1-3 shows at a time day after day till they are gone.

If I cant get it on netflix or free on amazon im am not adverse to borrowing seasons from friends/library.

aint nobody in this house got time for live TV.

ill watch 1-2 episodes of almost any superhero show that is put out.  if it doesn't grip me i'll probably check the online reviews to see if it gets better. usually it doesn't - The Tick series was better than the pilot, but I would have preferred less heros journey, more jokes.

Must watch

Stranger Things

Unbreakable Kimme Schmitt

Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil (in that order)

great British baking show

Downton Abby

Almost anything by Joss Whedon.

GoT (im a couple of seasons behind.)

Don't watch much TV anymore.  When I do, it is invariably binge watching.

Not that many shows that I absolutely have to watch either.  I'm almost current on Doctor Who (haven't seen the latest season) but beyond that, not current on anything else (eg I'm currently midway through Season 2 of Eureka...).

Meh. I've been unplugged for the better part of a decade now. Most of the time, if I'm going to watch a show I'll just find a season of it either at the Goodwill Store or online for dirt cheap. Most of the shows I've really liked and would consider "must watch" have already been watched enough times to not need to see them anymore...

Aside from maybe The Dresden Files (at some point, anyway), there's not anything I'd really care to watch enough to actively seek it out rather than just randomly happening to find a good price on a used copy somewhere...

No. I have shows I enjoy watching, but nothing I 'must watch'.
