"The 'Bot Shop" Bombshell Miniatures Diorama

I know time is short, but I have comments about your rusted roof.  It doesn't look right. If you look at pictures of rusty corrugated roofing, the rust tends to run in lines parallel to the channels and ridges.  Yours looks like painted on splotches.  Also, roofing oxidizes before it rusts so it will be a soft grey color, not silver.

Thanks for the input! Those are two of the major things I have allotted time for, the roof is still very much at the beginning stages. Still a lot of tweaking to be done overall on this base.

Wow, that was a marathon of painting and I am done. I don’t care how well it does, it turned out like I wanted and that’s all that matter. I will give it a once over tomorrow when I am not falling asleep, I did not realize it had gotten so late. So final pictures, with a blurry one of the posters. Hope you like the surprise in the back.

That is so good! Does that little dino have a wrench? It's a really nice little scene and you should be proud of it!

Yaaaas! Some really awesome details in this piece. I love the scene out back, and I really like the inert bot sitting out front. The weathering looks great all around.

For a moment there I was wondering what the round white things on the roof were.

Need more coffee...

(Very well done BTW)

I bought the Golden crackle paste medium instead of going out to buy the GW crackle paint... but so far no crackles in my test swatches. I'm hoping some people here have tried Golden before and have any tips. Do I need a base coat? Glue on the bottom? Thicker layers? Does it need the full 3 days to dry & cure even for small terrain pieces?

I'm hoping to be able to just use what I already have, but I might be able to buy some Agrellan earth this weekend if the Golden doesn't work. Or if there are any good crackle paints for a dry desert texture I could find at Joann's or Michael's or Blick.

      Thanks! :)

Stopped by my local gaming store yesterday and they had 2 packs of the BSC Alpha. I didn’t get them in the KS, so snapped them up.

I have s bunch of bits laying around and no real purpose for the BSC so just played around a bit.

So as some of you may know I'm making a diorama! This will be slow going for a while as I get the materials and then it should be full steam ahead. I've started by procuring another copy of the "telephone box" since I don't really like the first one I did a few years ago. It's not awful but not up to my standard for a Christmas present.

Swarming out from several enormous dimensional Rifts, a horde of giant invaders, so different in shapes and sizes that they couldn’t belong to the same species, had apparently decided the time had come to bring Humankind to extinction. They got damn close to it too! Two years went by after the first invasion, years in which two thirds of the Earth’s population was wiped out. In order to survive, every single nation left aside any ideal of independence and united under the flag of the Earth Federation, dividing cities into Metropoleis and Refuges and attempting any possible strategy to stay alive…

War Titans: Invaders Must Die, actually tells us a story deeply rooted in a distant period preceding the birth of our Sun, thus revolutionizing the Darwinian concept of human evolution. Our tale makes us discover the Shik’har, a magnificent race of space warriors. For an incredibly long time, the Shik’hars have fought triumphantly against any single species, creature concealing the seeds of evil, and has banished them one by one inside inaccessible dimensional prisons.

I've started working in earnest on my diorama entry for ReaperCon... Nothing like waiting till the last minute...

First I figured out placement, then carved out the wall.

And now I'm working on actually painting it up.

I have no idea if I'm going to be able to pull off the OSL effect or not.
