One more question...If I don't have the Reaper Paint, but a Scale 75 or Vallejo equivalent, it is ok to use?

Certainly, as long as you can match it as close as possible. The link below shows equivalents for Vallejo, though Scale75 hasn't been added to it yet.

Thx!!!

I have like 40% Reaper. 40% Scale 75, 15 % Vallejo and 5% Citadel/P3/Armycolours etc...

If you can add Scale 75 it would be great, else I will just compare the colours with my Scale 75 charts.

Just do your best to color match if it isn't on there. Or make a trip to the FLGS, if possible. We won't be too picky. Will we? Nah. Too much effort.

Thx, I have over 300 paints.

Many Scale 75 and Vallejo and lots of Reaper.

No FLGS here, only webstores.

Got it.

Ebonwrath

Star 3*** You may decide to do both the Star 1 and Star 2 challenges, using absolutely nothing but your three rolled colors, plus black and white for shading. You gotta be nuts!

Main Colour - Marine Teal

Second  Colour - Mint Green

Tertiary Colour - Violet Red

:;,;::;,;::;,;:

This might be slightly relaxing, if eye-shattering...

I read the thing, thought about it for two seconds and then said to myself, I said, 'might as well give it a shot; three stars sounds like fun!' - and then I pulled Kyphryxis out of the BOX O' DRAGON!, pulled up Hero labs and threw some dice. And then I eyed my dice roller, because it's clearly out of its tiny, electronic mind. ORANGE as the primary. This oughta be good.

This might.. maybe.. be something akin to relaxing. I'm pretty sure I have those colours, even. ^^;

Going to dig those out, and clear a little space on the desk ... *glares at draconians* ...

remember you can shade with black and highlight with white!

his teeth could be a very light shade of green =P while his gums and be whitened to almost pink using the violet red.

you'er still using your colors, just using white and black only for shadows / highlights to lighten them a bit

I'm jealous of everyone's else's colour rolls, mine's disappointingly normal.

I think we need another clarification though. It wasn't my understanding that you couldn't use straight white for the teeth if so desired when doing the Star 3 variation.

i was meaning combine white with one of your other colors to get a tooth shade. So not straight white, but a lightened shade of one of the primary colors

      So, one of my personal mini projects atm is working on some of the NPCs my players in my homebrew campaign are encountering.  And one of my favorite groups in that world are the Hunts - a loose-bound organization of groups (each called a Hunt) of fighters/mercenaries/warriors, each with their own specialty, who dedicated themselves to maintaining the roads and paths of Fidel during the millenia-long anarchy of the Mortal Wars.

      Now, what makes the Hunts distinctive from any other mercenary bands? Well, they ride BADASS FLYING MOUNTS.

      Gryphons, for the most part, although one or two specialize in pegasi, and a few ride more esoteric things...

      Four NPCs intimately intertwined with the group are members of the Red Hunt - a sort of catch-all for powerful, destructive mages. Faukner, her apprentices Formel and Tiercel, and her wife, Charr.

      So, I've had the Stonehaven Half-Dragon Duelist for ages. It's one of my favorite dragonborn minis, and I decided it'd be perfect for the swashbuckling Charr... It's a great mini, neat and clean with tons of personality.

      To give you an idea of who Charr is...

      Anyways, I've decided to do a WIP of this set of minis, starting with Charr's two forms. This is the thread for her humanoid form, obviously - I'm painting up the Temple Dragon for her dragonness form, and I'll try to do a WIP for that, too.

      So!

      I started off nice and simple - hit the face with some red, and decided on a blue-and-white scheme for the cloths. I'm trying to bring out some of the swashbuckler in this mini, so I like the naval colors. That said, I could use ideas for the cravat.

      Ordinarily, I'd paint my dragonborn's hair simularly to her scales and try to ignore it, but gonna go with dark for these dreads. They're sweet as hell. Wish DSM would give us a KS for these.

      And there's the face, pretty much finished, TBH! I washed it with Games Workshop's purple wash, pretty heavily so it'd sit well in the mouth and scale cracks, and then highlighted just with pure red. This is a proof-of-concept for the temple dragon, as well as a mini on it's own, and I'm pretty happy with it! Used Palimimo Gold for the eyes - something else that'll carry over!

      This is Ebonwrath as painted for the Random Rainbow Dragon challenge as presented here;
      I rolled up;
      Primary Colour: Olive Green
      Secondary colour: Lemon Yellow
      Teriary Colour: Terran Khaki
      I went for the 3 star challenge.
      The colours reminded me of summer in the Australian bush around my parents farm and the Blue Mountains near where I now live, so I went with a base that tried to create that impression.
      Here he is;

      If you are interested the WIP thread is here;
      Please feel free to leave your comments, constructive critisims, ideas or questions here.
      I hope you enjoy looking at this model as I did painting it.

      Ok. I have fallen victim to this insane challenge. More than that I am determined to go for the 3 star challenge. Oh dear!

      In keeping with the spirit of this whole thing I rolled randomly for the dragon and got Ebonwrath.
      As for colours...
      Main: Olive Green
      Secondary: Lemon Yellow
      Tertiary: Terran Khaki

      All the information you need should be here.

      Due to the revised format, there will be more than one bonus challenge available for this month. Including a "Hard mode" which Is some combination that may or may not have a source behind it.

      Your challenge is: 9!

      Bonus Challenge: The First!
      (Is this a re-hash? I don't recall.)
      Fall! Modify/paint a mini/minis to be falling/fallen. (Translate fallen how you will.)

      Bonus Challenge: The Second!
      December 14th is National Bouillabaisse Day.  For those unfamiliar, this is a Fish Stew from southern France. Paint a mini that incorporates a fish motif.

      Hard Mode Challenge!
      Under Wraps:
      Paint a mini so that anything that any armor-weapons-cloth-etc looks like it's patterned wrapping paper. This is assuming a humanoid figure. Dragons or such apply the same challenge to the whole body.

      Stop the presses!
      Bonus, The third!
      With the breaking news of our beloved space pope leaving Reaper - let's see what you can paint up as a tribute to him. Bonus points for actually making a "bryanzilla" mini accurate to the avatar.

      Good luck

      The game is made up and the points don't matter

      I saw it at the World Model Expo in Chicago this July and had to buy it even though I was basically base painting my first mini ever.  Just couldn't resist.  And I said I wouldn't start her right away because she's pretty damned intimidating.  But after 2 months of sitting in the box, I couldn't keep her in there anymore.

      I decided that the primed parts would be painted separately from the body before being fully joined together.  Those seams blend in naturally and it would be easier to paint separated.  As for the more obvious seams, I attempted some putty magic.

      Color scheme wise, we're going with D&D's Tiamat.
