You can use white and black to mix and shade your colors, so your teeth can be a very light minty green and the gums can be light pink using the violet red!

you just can't bring in other colors to use, you have to make due with your 3 rolled colors and black/white =)

Thx!!

Better!!!

That sounds more doable to me! :) I can't wait to see your cool (because cool colors) dragon!

It will take some time, since I'm also painting Kaladrax on a Mausoleum....

( Yeah, I'm insane...)

I'm totally jealous of your colour roll.

Thx, I actually love Marine Teal and Violet Red.

Mint Green is the weird one, but I see possibilities.

Also Liner is permitted to prime.

I'm getting a vision.

*** Cackling he picks up Ebonwrath...Yessss...I...know now...preciousssss....****

Great.  Now he's talking to three-eyed ravens.

*** Looks up as the wolf regains consciousness ***

Oh... Uhm... Go! Go! Go!

I joined the challenge as well,  though I need to see what dragons I have at home first.   I realize there was a list to choose from,  but it would help my poor wallet to not have to buy an extra dragon.

Good luck on yours, I'm sure it'll be aces!

Star 3*** You may decide to do both the Star 1 and Star 2 challenges, using absolutely nothing but your three rolled colors, plus black and white for shading. If you do this, you are allowed to use the white for areas like teeth and eyes that could be really weird otherwise (or not - up to you). Effectively, you have 5 colors to work with only, and three of them must be the majority (in decreasing order of prevalence). You gotta be nuts!

Edited rules..PHEW! White can be used for teeth and eyes..

Eyes you said????

White Eyes...possibly with a Black Iris?

*** EVIL LAUGH***

That goes for all eyes????

Wherever I paint them,????

@Cyradis  @Pezler the Polychromatic @Sirithiliel

Can you confirm if this is allowed?

I have an idea...

Yep. Cover it in paint. 5 bottles to use. Eyes and claws and teeth can use black and white as tidbit colors. Can shade with mixing however you want with the 5 bottles.

The main reason I asked, I got the idea of painting Ebonwrath as a Butterfly Dragon.

So ehhh.. Could I paint a few big eyes on the wings with white and black???

Or do I need to mix more to stay within the Star 3?

You can, but those spots must contain less black and white than your 3rd rolled color (histogram of the colors should have roll 1, roll 2, roll 3, __other__ in descending order). I think you can do the spots if you are super duper clever :poke: Totally think it is doable.

      I need an excuse to get out of a painting rut, so challenge accepted!

      The Dragon: Ebonwrath (because the Bones 3 dragons are not yet in the online store)

      Let the randomness begin. The fates have selected:

      Primary color: Cloudy Grey (16)
      Secondary color: Lemon Yellow (5)
      Tertiary color: Orange Brown (4)

      Oh my. I'll have to think about this one. With those colors, I'll go all in with the three star challenge. Why not...

      This is Ebonwrath as painted for the Random Rainbow Dragon challenge as presented here;
      I rolled up;
      Primary Colour: Olive Green
      Secondary colour: Lemon Yellow
      Teriary Colour: Terran Khaki
      I went for the 3 star challenge.
      The colours reminded me of summer in the Australian bush around my parents farm and the Blue Mountains near where I now live, so I went with a base that tried to create that impression.
      Here he is;

      If you are interested the WIP thread is here;
      Please feel free to leave your comments, constructive critisims, ideas or questions here.
      I hope you enjoy looking at this model as I did painting it.

      Ok. I have fallen victim to this insane challenge. More than that I am determined to go for the 3 star challenge. Oh dear!

      In keeping with the spirit of this whole thing I rolled randomly for the dragon and got Ebonwrath.
      As for colours...
      Main: Olive Green
      Secondary: Lemon Yellow
      Tertiary: Terran Khaki

      I had a lot of fun with this guy, even though I was initially a bit intimidated by the colors I rolled and am not thrilled with the scale pattern now that I've worked on him...

      WIP

      The colors rolled were 1) Orange Brown, 2) Cloudy Grey and 3) Imperial Purple and after a couple of base layers, he started to look too much like a pumpkin to not call him Pumpkin Spice..

      It will be noted that I did a completely terrible job on the flocking - only my second attempt at flocking ever and doing it with a headache and lots of kids running around meant that I didn't notice until it was way too late that he's got grass growing all over his feet now!   Also, pay no attention to the goldish mush-piles.. again, trying to mold with distractions didn't work out too well (not that I'm particularly adept at that either )
      PS's frontmost foot was badly bent even after a boil bath, so I made him stepping on a shield. The shield, sword and bones were donors from the Ghouly Grab Bag since I got a 77242 Skeleton Warrior in my October order.

      oh, and I need a better photo-booth than white paper taped in front of my paint stand!
