So I've been working on the base. I didn't have any Simple Green to strip the 7 day challenge base (which really needs it) and realized that I was using that as an excuse to procrastinate. So instead, I stole the base from the second Ma'al that I have. So I spent a lot of time removing mold lines.

Then I basecoated it with GW Averland Sunset:

Next, not pictured (sorry) I put on a wash of GW Reikland Fleshshade. I held the base upside down while I applied it so that it would run where the shadows should be.

Then I did a heavy dry brush of the Averland Sunset.

Then I drybrushed MSP Lantern Yellow, which is more yellow than it appears in this pic.

Next I drybrushed in some MSP Mustard Yellow, but not much because I realized it wasn't making much difference.

Then I did a lighter dry brush of MSP Canary Yellow

Then I did a light dry brush of MSP Amber Gold (which is more of a tan colour)

Then I did a final light dry brush of MSP Dirty Bone

Now what I'm working on is shading with MSP Tarnished Copper, which is part of the new with Bones 3 NMM Copper triad, so it is not metallic.

Still plenty of work to do, but I'm really liking how it's looking.

Awww, thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I'm hoping to have more updates over the next few days, as panic is beginning to set in.

I'm getting a Dakota Sandstone vibe off it. That's the one that makes the ridge at Devil's Backbone up in Loveland and the hogback just north of Golden.

Good durable sandstone. Not a weak and wimpy one.

Lovely work, @Guindyloo

Today, I'm not feeling working on my main ReaperCon project for the diorama so I figured to stay productive and still do something I'll go ahead and start a WIP thread for some tabletop to tabletop+ painted figures of mounts and/or animal companions for the characters in my D&D game.

First off I'm doing these three bones figures: animal companion brown bear (Jim), animal companion black panther (Alex), and Phantasmal blue panther mount (Bagheera). These are for the monk/ranger character in my D&D 'Broken Gods' game.

I will use some green stuff to even out and blend into the bones broccoli bases, the bigger panther will get a green stuff made saddle and harness.

After I'm done with these three:
I will paint up a golden lion (the companion to the panther figure from bones 3 I believe) Find a fox figure big enough to be a mount - will need to be about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long. Acquire a nightmare figure for a mount or modify a horse or unicorn

So I started working on this guy back in March, he was just basecoated with the pattern established (which was based on Rhonda Bender's beautiful example.) This afternoon I decided to pull him off of the Shelf of Shame and finish him up.
I should've gone a size up on the base. And as usual, my pictures are terrible but I'm tired.

      C&C always very welcome.

So here's the thread for the rules:
I picked Stormwing. And here were my rolls:

I will also be attempting the 3 Star Challenge version, so I will have my colour palette limited to my 3 rolled paints, plus black and white.

I did a quick once over of the mold lines and then glued most of him together and threw some green stuff into the gaps.

You're also allowed to prime with Brown Liner, so I'll be doing that next.
There's no time limit and I can use any size brush I like, which will be a refreshing change for me.

So just a little thing that I finished on Monday.
WIP thread is here if you missed it: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/76415-guindyloo-vs-maal-drakar-in-7-days/&page=1

These are just some of the pictures that I took after I finished when I was half dead. If you want to see something specific, let me know and I can take some more.
Most likely, I will be working on this some more post challenge, so I wanted to get a show off up before I change too much....if that's a thing that I do.
