Reapercon 2018 Enthusiasm and Chatter

Recommended Posts

It just occurred to me that we probably will have classes in actual rooms and won't have the extraneous noise that plagued the last couple of ReaperCons.

OTOH, I will miss the Mariscos 2000 restaurant.  The best Mexican seafood ever.  As much as I hate driving in Dallas, and I really, really hate driving in Dallas, I may have to go in to Mariscos.

Not necessarily. They may keep the same kind of setup as the PEC. No telling how they will have them setup until it's announced.

I certainly hope not.

Hey, folks...

As a supplement to the general chatter here, I've created this thread to collect any suggestions or requests for ReaperCons in future. This way, Reaper people will have one place to look, rather than having to peek into a half-dozen discussions.

Additionally, Knarthex has this one, specifically for class requests.

In the interests of efficiency, I propose we all these two threads for the relevant recommendations/requests/suggestions.

Thanks, folks!

-Darren

Anyone know if there is a theme yet?  Halloween in August? The horror of game geeks at the pool?  Summer days in Texas?  I've barely got 7 months to work on a costume!

A question that I have not been able to find an answer for: Has registration opened and I missed all the class openings? Looking at reapercon.com, it says that 2018 classes are not open for online pre-registration, yet part of the main page still lists last year's October dates.

I've been mentally planning time off for this, but now I'm not sure if I'm late or early to sign up...

According to LadyStorm, that info hasn't been posted yet - so you're ok.  The time frame has not yet been disclosed.

Here's where she said it:

I think they've done away with 'themes', and have gone with Dreadmere (their homegrown RPG setting) the last two years. Suppose they could change that, but I haven't heard or seen anything to change that.

It's official.  My better half and myself will be attending again this year.  Hopefully, we'll be able to meet a few more of you forumites this time around.

So I see that someone has started to update the ReaperCon site, but it appears the bulk of what was done was searching for the 2017 dates, and replace them with the 2018 dates, so they're obviously not finished yet:

Quote

At ReaperCon 2018, you can help decide the fate of the four warbands of Dreadmere: the Bonehenge Covenant, the Duskwardens, the Knights of the Maggotcrown, and the River widows. For 2016 the Duskwardens were victorious, and the Disciples of Cthon have retreated to regroup and try again!

Note the 2016 date.

Check out our 2016 program guide!

But if you poke around the site right now , some of the info showing is a bit alarming if you aren't paying attention:

Classes for ReaperCon 2018 are no longer available for online pre-registration.

AAAHHHH!!!!!

I panicked when I first saw that, then started looking around the site and breathed a sigh of relief.
