Sculpted the feet.  It is nearly ready for casting now.  I think I am going to open the leg holes in the shell a bit to allow for a beefier leg.  If I don't do it now, I'll have to modify it with each sculpt later.  Hopefully by the end of the day today, I'll be ready to make the rubber molds and start making wax copies tomorrow night.

I opened up and flared the edges of the lower shell to allow for beefier arms and legs.  Then I pulled it from the cork and attached the wax-injection-port former to the bottom.  Tonight I'll make the rubber molds and if there is time, shoot the waxes (probably won't be time though as I just remembered that I am supposed to allow my new mold rubber to cool at room temperature after vulcanization to minimize shrinkage; so no quick dunk and cut tonight).

Glorious! Even if it wasn't a turtle man but simply a turtle I absolutely love how this is turning out. I can't wait to see the final product as you continue this quest towards aquatic greatness!

The waxes look great.  Looking forward to seeing them in bronze!

I got them on the tree during lunch today!  Hopefully, I have time on Sunday to invest, burnout, and cast.

Woke up with back spasms this morning, so I couldn’t cut the bronze, so I didn’t do the burnout. ::(:  later this week or next.

I hope you are feeling better soon, Andy! Back spasms are the pits.

Such a cool figure idea, and it's cool that you now have the capability to essentially copy/paste the basic parts of the sculpt. Very cool!

Huzzah!

Thanks.  It is mostly better today.  I've been dealing with this issue for years, so at least I now know my limits and exactly what to do when I get a flare up to knock it down fast with only about a day of down time.  On the upside, the cure involves Dr. sanctioned drinking of Scotch. :poke:::D: (Whiskey is both a good muscle relaxer and pain killer.)

Strictly for medicinal purposes, eh?

Riiiiiiight...  ::D:

Just kidding, that actually makes a lot of sense and probably is less harsh in the long term than some of the more pharmaceutical options that could be employed.  Have one for me while you're at it, I think I feel a back ache coming on!

edit - a couple hours after posting this yesterday my back actually did start hurting, which it continues to do.  That's karma for ya, I should not have been joking about this.  Sorry if I seemed like I was making light of your troubles. <waits for pain to subside>

I got the bronze cut.  It was a laborious process that caused the circuit breaker to blow about a dozen times, mostly because I was running both the saw and shop vac at the same time.  I have rigged up a cone to allow the vac to suck away any airborne particles as soon as they were made.  The mess wasn't too bad, mostly just in a 6 foot semi circle around the saw.  I figure I lost about the volume of one to two of the chunks I ended up with, which is too bad, but necessary.  Maybe someday I'll get a portable bandsaw like @Kang, but for now this works.  Hopefully, I have enough bronze to last me until summer so I can cut outside next time.

Barring any more issues, it looks like I'll be casting this weekend.

(It really is a very pretty metal.)

So I was looking at my minis box yesterday and decide that it may be wise to get them done ! haha , like kid who want to cake and mother saying you will get another one when you finish the first one haha.

Anyway I though I just do an ongoing wip, self motivation ( well actually I am quite motivate to get those in shape ).

Primed couple minis so they are ready for paint ( minus the 2 Cmon one since I need to get some putty on those to cover the obvious seam du to the assembly ).

And I am going to start with those bad girls...actually Raging Heroes box I ordered , finally get onto glue all those parts , they are really super small ! Kinda like Wizkids size if not worse lol , well for those at last.

The darksword frogs are for a new scene / vignette but I will paint the figure first this time and worry about the vignette after :D..

Have to think about my color scheme for those lust elves now , I and I think I will get onto dark purple / blue tone for clothings and more pale skin / wolf grey kind of mix maybe for the skin..
This time since that's a set I will try to paint them in batch so I keep color somewhat homogeneous between them.

Well I guess I have a paint schedule for couple week coming :D...

Hi guys, so just because I love touching everything haha and to cut a bit form painting ( though almost finish with the reaper beast champion paint :)...)..I started to mess with clay stuff ..quite fun actually haha.

I have no idea how this will end up anyway and that's ok for me to fail , that's just for practice and such and get a feel for it.
I started trying to do some kind of carnivore plant things ( also looking at a thread here  for a step octopus like sculpt so just trying to avoid the "anatomy" things for now..)

I may have some trouble with lower jaw..did nothing to support it but hmm will see xD..

Hey so this is my first post, I’ve only been painting since Christmas and I don’t have many friends who do it. So this seems like the best place to get some advice. I’ve been working on this fire demon for a while now and I finally finished the main body, but just wanted some advice for the base and what I could go for. I had a lot of difficulty with the runes on the sword as I really don’t have the skill yet to do it. If you see anything else that’s rough with it let me know please :) the photos are just a few progress pictures. Thank you!

Starting a new figure, from AoW this time.
Currently worked on the skin parts...and I could not skip the eye on this one haha

Just for reference and info , I put the color used for this part ...( at least that will be a reminder for me what I used haha ).

Skin : Mix of Vallejo model color olive green and lime green and Reaper Heather Blue.
Nails and Teeth, Gum : Vallejo model color purple, Reaper Desert Sand and Bleached Linen
Also a pass of Army Painter Dark Tone Wash to renforce a bit shadow.

So I posted these sketches for new sculpt ideas to my social medias and got some good feedback. Everyone seemed to be a big fan of the Raccoon and since he was one of my favorites from the pack also, I decided to sculpt him!
I didn't have my phone with me to get pics of the initial wire frame and GS layer but I went over that with some Fimo clay and baked an underlying structure now and I'll start layering my Primo on top of that.
