Dreadmere Begins...

Recommended Posts

Ooh!  Going to enjoy watching this.

03784: D'Vandra Lukesia (yes, I did attach her arm wrong )

It's not wrong, it's a conversion!  I kind of like the wistful pensive look she has now.

Awesome

She is my favorite as of now. I really love the face and the "wrongly" attached arm gives her some kind of special character. So everything is alright.

Should have said it earlier, but I love the skin tones you have going on. I'm still learning how to do proper skin and I love that you are including your recipes here!

Some lovely work on show here. I really like the detail you have got in the faces.

Thanks!

I'm just glad I can finally pull off basic eyes on a regular basis.

I must admit I still feel a bit of a failure because I'm still reliant on Flesh Wash to do all my skin.

Concentrating on Jakob, because I have a more complete picture of him in my head:-

Got his coat done.

It's a base of Dark Green with a brushtipful of Pure Black, then Black Wash, then highlights of 1:1 Dark Green/Medium Olive and pure Medium Olive.

The lapels are Pure Black with a highlight of 1:1 Pure Black/Stone Grey, and while I had the Pure Black out I also did his little bit of chainmail, it's just Oily Steel with a Black Wash at the mo' I'll highlight it when I paint his sword.

Thanks!

Been pottering away slowly:-

Jakob has a shirt (Bonewhite > Sepia Wash > Bonewhite) and a cravat (Steel Grey > 1:1 Steel Grey/Off-white).

I've also basecoated and washed his various doodads, they'll get highlighted tonight hopefully.

While I had the browns out, I made a start on Andowyns waistcoat and fancy pants, these will also hopefully be highlighted tonight.

This is my version of the Bones 77630: Sacrificial Altar

I already have a bunch of evil looking altars, so I went instead for an arcane look. That said it was a speed paint.

I decided to paint a bunch of things to fill up any torture chambers I would need to create in my builds. The table with the implements is not from Reaper and is in metal. I do not remember who it is from. :)

The Bones painted up a bunch quicker though! :)

I noticed this model bears striking resemblance to the wizard from my favorite childhood LEGO set.

The scroll was done by a friend using a .25mm micron pen.

I have some vague plans involving some Red Wizards of Thay in a future D&D game, so thought I'd get some painted in preparation. This is the first, which I'm very pleased with.

The face was done mostly with the Tanned Skin triad, with some extra shadow achieved by mixing in blue liner. The beard was Grey Liner plus Rainy Grey, with increasing amounts of Pure White mixed in for the highlights. Similar for the chains, though they got a blue liner coat. Robes were a Spattered Crimson base coat over Brown Liner, with Nightshade Purple shadows, and Gory Red mixed with increasing amounts of orange and/or yellow for the highlights. The scythe handle and scroll bone were mostly Bone triad, with a brown wash and some shading with Woodstain Brown. The blade was mostly Pure Black, Rainy Grey and Pure White, with some Blue Liner mixed in. The scroll got a Polished Bone base coat, with some thin streaks of various light browns, Brown Liner for the glyphs, and a brown wash over the whole thing.

This is probably one of the best paint jobs I've done, and certainly the best face to date
